  1. sup nick. i got mine from zcarparts.com and im happy with them. made very thick and tough unlike cheapy ones that are backyard made on ebay. i would seriously go with a well known company dedicated to z's.
  2. its always a good idea to paint in warmer weather...im planning to finish painting everything before summer is over and the cold season comes around. hopefully i can get her done..
  3. sorry, my computer cant search paint codes back that far.
  4. you will not be able to do it safely. once the center is redrilled or reweld, it weakens and makes it dangerous to ride on. may also crack from stress even causing your wheel to fly off. for the cost of doing it if any shop is even willing to, your better off buying another set of wheels plus eagle wheels are cheap anyways. i had a shop bore out a set for me once from 4x? to 4x114.3. the holes started to crack even with a sleeve insert for strenth. lucky i saw it before it gave up on me. alot of custom wheel shop i talk to say its dangerous and is same anser you will probably get.
  5. so today i sprayed some real epoxy primer on my engine compartment over the slightly left rattle can primer i had to protect it from rust. heres before pics. heres the epoxy primer i layed down. took about 3/4 of qt. i had barely enough primer in the cup to finish off the front...
  6. that caliper and wheel clearance is right on the money...
  7. wouldnt a stretch tire also clear your fenders better? one would assume!
  8. is that an original on that year? ill check tomorow.
  9. i got rid of the disposible inline filter at the gun and never using one ever again. never know when it is filled and drip water on my paint job while spraying. i presonally dont like using them because it bubbles when its cloggedand water drips down your line or onto you paint job unexpected. i say run air regulator+water seperator+hose+mini air inlet regulator+gun. IMO.
  10. if i cant find me a set of nice step lip jdm wheels for the right pice, this might be my next option. im diggin the 16x8s.
  11. negative. keep the floors wet so there wont he any dust flying anywhere at anytime. run a decent inline filter.
  12. it only takes 25-27 psi inline on a hlvp for me. my regulator is set at 60psi and only 9-10pi at cap. conventional say34-37psi. i seriously dont recall anything about cfm but maybe im im not reading enough. ehehe. i also have painted on a belt driven 2hp compressor probably made in the 70s. lol, came out decent.
  13. its not perfect, its just alright. i hate orange peel and i try my best to wetsand it out but its really risky on the edges. i like a clean refection with no waves but its alot of work. thers little imperfections here and there but not noticeable.
  14. yes i will be doing the enginebay the same color. i still have to make some mods under the hood so thats why i havent painted it yet and make a cross member for the 2jz which will require welding. cant afford sparks on the paint job. thats also why i havent painted the body yet also because i still plan to make me a cage.
  15. iceman, i just realized that your rear bodyline is down lower than the door? not to bash on you or anything, thats alot of work for a smoothfinish... im still concerned about having a batery giving up on me somewhere and sitting outside for some time for a nice person to offer a jum.
  16. find out what the length is and go get one at napa. the stock z screws right into the r154 doesn it? mine does?
  17. did some more wetsanding on the bottom half of the RH fender today.
  18. any small compressor will do the job as long as it puts out 80 plus psi through the hose and hold a consistant psi. a bigger one will require a good power plug like a washer would use. is using the smaller plug wih a big compressor it will trigger your circuit breaker and causing a blackout in your garage if it sucks too much power.
  19. i didnt see you mentioned whos the make on the paint?
  20. thats cool that you painted the bumpers seperate and still have to put on the bumper because for a minute i thought the fade was off on the rear bottom section. lol. i knew you had a kit at one time...outside in the sun pics if possible.
  21. looks like you have the same idea i have. ZG style. is that flat black on the hood? nice bright attractive color...thumbs up!!
  22. alot of bondo also is always a bad idea and another reason for cracks under vibration and flex. i was surprised my fender came out really straight. i did repairs on it and weld, tack the trim holes and the little holes on the side for the emblems and it came out with no waves as crappy as i weld. lol im happy with the results.
  23. how many coats of clear did you layed down? are you painting your body kit seperate? looking good.
