  1. Please be aware that while black chrome or midnight chrome is great looking, it is much more susceptible to scratches that regular chrome. Back when I was building my custom rod plymouth I had gone to several local chrome shops to get quotes on having my bumpers and trim midnight chromed. I was told that while they would chrome them for me, they could not guarantee that would survive the first wash without serious scratching...regardless of how I washed them...basically as soon as you try and wipe them down, bump against them, or remove water marks...scratches would be the result.
  2. It's really nice to see companies step up and start making wheels for older imports. Finally after running adapters for FWD offset wheels (which IMHO look odd on an old Z) I actually have a choice when it comes to wheels. I was leaning towards the Konig Rewinds in 16x7 after failing to find a set of reverse mesh SSRs, but now that I see the Rotas I must say I like them much better than the Rewinds, there is something about the lip and rim that I like, almost as if the Rewinds just keep getting stretched to meet the 16 inch size where as the Rotas are designed to be 16". I wonder if these will clear my 12" wilwoods.
  3. LMAO, your neighbors must LOVE you! geez, I could never get away with that here, way too many busy bodies around looking for something to biatch about.
  4. very cool, Im anxious to see what my EGTs do after I convert to E85 next summer.

    New Dad

Congrats! What a wonderful feeling that must be!
  6. Thats funny, I would leave it in just for shats and giggles....of course over time it may become annoying.
  7. I know there are alot of you out there that love the E30 M3 and rally racing as much as I do so I thought it would be cool to show both together. Isle of Mann rally footage: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/d737539f-6b47-4416-98ce-c4e93394b777.htm
  8. My old 240 was painted Viper Red; I was never a big fan of red Z cars until I bought that one. Once I had it all cleaned up and shiny I fell in love with the colour...it suits the Z well, but as Austin said earlier...there are not many colours that don't.
  9. Thats interesting..hmmm....is that the white Japanese super Z?
  10. about a year ago there were two posts from a member in the UAE showcasing the fastest drag Zs there. Some really nice cars there...would love to see it someday. EDIT: Well I was wrong, I just found the post. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=109778&highlight=kuwait turns out the cars are in Kuwait.
  11. I also look forward to more info on your progress....sounds like it could pay off.
  12. Cool, thanks for the link. It seems that mini jets are a bit beyond my monetary scope at the moment.
  13. well, I think this project is dead, or at least mostly dead Andrew has not gotten back to me yet, and I am about to move to Italy for four months. It would be next to impossible to get everything situated in the next 10 days and once I'm gone it will be difficult to answer questions or take care of problems. My suggestion for those that want a brake kit ASAP is to buy one from Juan, AKA JSK innovations. I don't know why he has started making the kits again, but he is. http://www.autobrakeworks.com/datsun.htm Our kit is of a slightly different design, and does not come with nuts and bolts, so for 50$ more you can buy his kit with everything you need. He even has the 300ZX five lug kit now for 80$ more. So, I don't know what to say...I would have liked to have seen this project through and offered something to the HybridZ and general Z car community, but it appears that this project is no more. Sorry everyone..If I had affordable and reliable access to a local machine shop I would simply try and make it happen myself. I don't though, and chances are even if I did I would not be able to offer them at a competitive price point. I really want to thank everyone for their interest and suggestions, I was very excited and was genuinely looking forward to doing this for everyone. Sorry if I let anyone down...
  14. where can you get those mini jets? those are AWESOME! I want to mount one to my mountain bike and ride through downtown!
  15. found some photos in my archives of the Monterey Historics in '03 I love Morgans! AMC! Bimmers leading the pack again! Team Tyrrell, these things are awesome.. O beautiful Ferrari and the luscious sounds you make GT40 #3 When I was there the featured marquee was Ford and they had some great machines out for all to enjoy. One of my personal favs...the Sunbeam Tiger
  16. If I had the space and tools I would buy it, that car is worth some bucks fixed up as long as the metal work is perfect.
  17. Thanks for the info, for now I've decided on keeping it bare, it looks ok and it has gotten to the point where I need to just drive the car instead of working on little stupid aesthetic things. must drive car! I've looked into that and might go that route in the end, I really think that a more thoughtful approach with the 3" round tubing will net the desired results...after all, it is a street car so its not that low... nice Z BTW, I've always wanted to see one up close...I don't think pictures really do the primadonna cars justice.
  18. Then we will pretend the whole thing never happened.
  19. From Ebay: As the internet evolves, eBay continues to strike a balance between preserving transparency and protecting our Community of members. eBay has decided to change how bid history information is displayed so bad guys cannot target bidders with fake offers using this information. In certain cases, some bidders will no longer be able to view Bidder User IDs on the Bid History page. Your User ID will be shown only to you and the seller of the item you're bidding on. Other members will see an anonymous name, such as Bidder 1, applied consistently to the Bid History page.
  20. lol, I always liked these two http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoID=1424286600 http://youtube.com/watch?v=BWZTnvmyLlE&mode=related&search=
  21. Thanks again everyone. I finally got a chance to go out in the garage to start her up this morning and I must say while its not as loud as I wanted it (in the end thats a good thing) I did really like the sound. very deep and throaty without any obnoxious tinny sound. I will have to wait and see what it sounds like under load..Im still running a screamer pipe off the wastegate so that should more than satisfy my desire for aural pleasure. har har. hey Phil, here is a larger picture of that car, taken at the Nismo Fest in Japan.
  22. Holy Sh!t, those chicks are nuts. A little hard for my tastes, but still....wow. How bout some L7, saw them live many many years ago along side Ministry.
