  1. Thanks Andrew for answering all the questions. as far as price of calipers and rotors, berhents.com is where I ordered everything from, I went with the billet NDL at 124.00$ and the UL 12.19 curved directional vane rotor at around 36$ each. With the lines we are looking at less than 600$ for the front set! barring any unforeseen issues I should have a complete setup to take photots very soon. As soon as I do I will post them and try to answer some questions I've been getting about min. inner wheel diameter needed to clear the package. thanks again for the comments and interest!
  2. Hello everyone, This is a quick post about some CNC Aluminium rotor hats and caliper brackets that I am having made up by a member here (coldfusion) These hats will allow you to run a 1.25 thick by 12.19 rotor along with the caliper of your choice in a 3.5 inch mount. We are looking at assembling a package that includes two (2) hats for use on the S30 chassis (240Z guys must switch to 280Z hubs.) (in your order I can provide a set of 280Z hubs at a reasonable price.) AND two (2) steel caliper brackets for 3.5 inch calipers. Calipers, Rotors, Lines and all hardware will be left to the end user to select, there are lots of options out there and this kit will allow you to select anything from mild to wild, budget to full blown blingtastictude. Again, this is a very quick post to just start the ball rolling so we can get an idea of who all is interested. We wont be making these things forever so get em while you can. PM any questions or post them here, but I wont be able to get back to you for the next two days (school starts tomorrow). I will do my best to address any concerns or questions you may have and will be compilling notes for a post in the group buy section on thursday. thanks everyone! Also, If somebody wants to step up and help locate the best online source for hardware it would be most appreciated.
  3. count me in for one. Im compilling info right now for the other thread, I should be posting it as soon as it gets too hot to work in the garage.
  4. ugh. I hate gore but am always compelled to look at it for some reason...who knows. It certainly does keep one humble though...thanks for the reminder that we are very fragile things, we must really stop being so petty and just live our lives to the best of our abilities. very thankful for what I have, and the life I've led thus far.
  5. No E36 ever had the M56 Motor, its an E46/E39s only. Also every M car ever made gets S series engines, S14, S38, S50, S54 ETC. Not being a jerk, just want to clear some things up.
  6. thats a great looking cage, probably one of the most "street safe" (if there really is such a thing) that I've seen. that welding hood is freakishly awesome as well....very starwars bar scene creature-esq.
  7. hmm, Sorry for the confusion earlier, It wasnt clear to me that you are using the dizzy just as a trigger and not to distribute spark. From the looks of things though (and as fair warning, I'm still learning my haltech stuff and am by no means an expert) your settings seem correct to me. It seems that something in the trigger may be screwy. are you getting enough voltage to the ECU itself?
  8. yeah, you should have it set to distributer mode. also, if you installed the 84 trigger wheel up side down it will cause some funky issues.
  9. Its good to hear some new news about your car, its been a personal favorite of mine for some time now, its really coming along and looking fantastic! When you get settled in Corpus I would love to see you and your Z make it up to a few shows in Austin and San Antonio! Let me know when you get comfortable down there and I can give you info on our club and particular happenings.
  10. I am also interested in it but will back off if your serious, I am really only interested in the wheels and mirrors...maybe the grill. PM me and we can talk shop.
  11. You Are 56% Cynical Yes, you are cynical, but more than anything, you're a realist. You see what's screwed up in the world, but you also take time to remember what's right. How Cynical Are You? http://www.blogthings.com/howcynicalareyouquiz/ 56%? I was expecting a higher number I personally like this one: Your Chances of Being a Multimillionaire: 92% It's almost certain you'll be a multimillionaire. Just keep doing what you're doing. You are good with money, a creative thinker, and an ethical person. You might be the next Donald Trump! Will You Be a Multimillionaire? http://www.blogthings.com/willyoubeamultimillionairequiz/
  12. Bump for my car! I'm going to try the base map, but dont have a wideband...YET...its still a few months out. Still looking for a map though, anyone? anyone? Bueller?

  14. Nice! thanks for posting those, I had bookmarked them last year but completely forgot about it (duh on my part) Looks like Im going to wire the dizzy up in the next hour and test it out! Hopefully in the next few days you and I will both have a start up map to work from. the thought of finally hearing my car run (and run well) is giving me chills! so close!!!!
  15. Hello everyone! I'm incredibly excited to be so close to finally starting and driving my 240ZT thats been down and out for around 4.5 years now! I got the haltech talking with the laptop last night, and am about to wiring up the ignition and fuel injectors (still have some questions on the dizzy setup though ) So its about that time that I start looking for a map to start out with, If anyone can help me out that would be great (even E6K maps will work) here are the specs: L28ET 370 injectors T04b .60 hot side Z31 ignition module 280ZXT dizzy with Z31 trigger wheel 60mm Tb large FMIC any help would be great, I really want to hear my car run again!!!!!
  16. it looks as the though the sump is in the front, is this the case? if so, how do you plan on fitting it in the S12 (is the S12 a front sump car? I've never looked at one that closely...but always wanted one. ) have you taken the oil pan off yet to examine the pickup tube and assembly? I'm curious if it would be possible to fit one in an S30 by converting it to a rear sump set up. On the F54 L series block casting there is a spot for the front or rear sump depending on chassis (max/S130) is the VE the same?
  17. awesome, cant wait to see the results.
  18. its a good thing I'm alone right now, I just drooled all over myself. I hear the block is made out of compressed 100$ bills.
  19. I get there Monday and leave Thursday, not sure on my flight times, I do know the one on Monday is too early for me I will probably try and wear my Datsun and HybridZ work shirt most of the time....maybe somebody will recognize it. of course in a crowd of that many people its not likely.
  20. I'm going to the one in OshKosh...have you ever camped on the grounds? This will be my second time there, but my first time camping with the other tens of thousands of people, I'm wondering just how miserable I'm going to be.
