  1. I got 50+ mpg on my bike if I grannied it, but it's the tires that'll make up for your gas savings, especially if you're riding straight most of the time (squares off your tires quick). If you ride that bike remotely as it was intended, you may average out to maybe 40mpg, and you're sticking Premium in there. Still, very cool bike. I'm going to miss mine (very bad accident)

I really like that color scheme. Looks great!
  3. Ha... yep, that's definitely awesome. I need to read more backstory on that regarding the neighbors and golfers.
  4. It only increases the leverage on the bearings, etc. There is nothing say it WILL break, but only increases the potential -- there's no getting around that. Instead of pushing straight down on the bearings (as with a 0 offset and 0 camber), the bearings are being pulled at the bottom and pushed at the top harder in a direction they weren't designed for (kinda), while the studs are being pulled while at the bottom (maybe the top, too, and they keep rotating so forces pull in, out, in, out... or maybe this is going beyond my understanding). To be more accurate, the bearings, because they sit further inboard than the studs, are always being leveraged upon rather than getting a straight vertical force applied to them. The forces exerted are likely well within tolerances.
  5. I think it would be more descriptive to ask how that happened at 10mph. It's easy enough to flip a car on a straightaway if you're turning
  6. What naviathan is getting at, and he may not realize it, is that spacing wheels out further and further past the centerline is what is harder on bearings and studs. Keeping the centerline is fine. While I like the deep dish look, I would prefer our hubs were spaced out another half inch or so in front and back, all else being equal. The guys going for the wide, ultra-low offset wheels (Rota 9.5", -13 offset?) in the group buy are not taking advantage of the inner wheel-well clearance they would/could have with coilovers - they can still run a standard spring/strut(or shock) setup with those. I would want them pulled in a little further, keeping the same tire "widthability" and be as easy on the bearings and studs as possible... and include the option to put spacers on, should I choose . I think there's a reason manufacturers of newer cars have been pushing the offset further and further out of the wheel centerline. For me, adapters just increase the complexity and possible point of failure. If I can avoid them, I will - but I probably can't
  7. I'm somewhat interested, but I don't think I'll have the cash flow to spend on that right now Hey! Look who's unbanned! Welcome back
  8. That's the monster probe, right? That's incredible. I sure hope my 2JZ (on the way) is in good shape! EDIT: yep, "probezilla"
  9. You can technically do it, of course, but it's apparently harder to tune; I don't really know why. Also, you're likely to blow your AFM apart in higher boost (don't know what might be considered "high") - turboford guys who run blow-thru VAM/AFM often do this, but we're running 15psi from the factory. You're better off using one of the multiple proven intercooler routing techniques and leaving your AFM in place.
  10. "proverbial," as in "proverb."
  11. What about the truck from Duel??? That thing scared me to death!
  12. I only lived there from 2005-2006 and I know all that stuff quite well. I was in Orlando. It's strange how none of it seemed strange to me until I moved back to Austin and thought back on it. I actually lived in Kissimmee and commuted via Econlockhatchee Trail, avoiding the alligators and old folks, nearly every day. Good times....
  13. The '88/'89 Z31 turbos have T3 flanges despite having T25 sized turbochargers.
  14. FYI - I watched SF work on this car this weekend and I actually heard it run and move around the property a bit. IT SOUNDS SICCKKKK!!! Way better than any Z31 or most cars I've heard. (I did see some late-model Ferrari next door driving around the parking lot... that might have sounded a bit better ) He's driven it about 15 miles now. He's got a few things left to hook up and some bugs to work out, but I don't doubt it'll be moving very quickly on a mild tune within the week. He's done great work on it.
  15. I'm considering something similar. If you're going to heavily modify the intake manifold, consider tilting it up a bit away from the turbo and manifold. For a turbo vehicle, take a look at the aftermarket manifolds for 2JZ's, RB's, etc. - they're all very short runners and have larger, wedge-shaped plenums. I might just find some "decent" aftermarket chinese manifold like those and modify it to fit the stock Datsun runners.
  16. You have a dizzying intellect, indeed. - The short of it is that turbochargers do quiet the exhaust, and not just through back pressure. Your SRT-4 would not be nearly as quiet without the turbocharger, all else being equal. - Living 45 minutes from "the most respested SRT-4 tuner in the world" means very little. Who is that anyway? Are there many SRT-4 tuners in the world? - Regarding your comment about knowing the engine so well because you've owned an SRT-4 for years doesn't mean a great deal: there are plenty of guys here who've been in the L-series Datsun engines for 20+ years and are still learning that simple engine. - Some straight-thru muffler designs actually flow better than straight pipe. - Some straight-thru muffler designs actually flow worse than straight pipe.
  17. Welcome, dude. Here's your first lesson: http://forums.hybridz.org/forumdisplay.php?f=135
  18. For the record, and with no intention of infuriating twinturbos further, our deal was outside of Hybridz and prior to his joining HybridZ. It wasn't even up for sale yet when he asked to buy it and I knowingly sold it to him for $500 less than I could have sold it on Craigslist. Mike, I wanna be friends! Well, at least not enemies
  19. Those are the funkiness, that's for sure. The red is a little hard to take but they're kinda cool, too.
  20. It might have something to do with the circumstances under which you were calling. I can help but, like anyone here, we want you to learn to feed yourself. It's not just me that is frustrated with the way you ask for help. We can take it offline via PM if you want to discuss it more; but I will also tell you I've got some really terrible stuff going on right now. Also, I specifically remember telling you I changed ALL fluids in the car except for the coolant as it was in such good shape - this was part of my sales pitch. Your lack of even trying to remember stuff like this is a huge part of the frustration, especially when you then challenge me on it.

    Wtb: 240z..

    You might...
  22. As that used to be my car and I changed all the fluids, as I told you, Mike, I can tell you that plug is in there good; I gave a little try at it then just used the reverse light switch to get into the tranny. You'll end up with plenty fluid if you just HAVE to change it out again. wherezmytofu, your method will not nearly work on this plug. It would need a 1/2" deep and 1/4" wide slot put in it to get a stronge enough flat bar in there and it still probably wouldn't budge. I say leave it.
  23. blackhyb, if you're going to try to call someone out with any level of discernibility, start with some punctuation then move on to capitalization and complete sentences and proper grammar.
