  1. Thanks, The project it is taking a bit longer than anticipated but I'm on the downward side now. I'm hoping to be on the road in the next year or so.
  2. Forgot pic scroll down to outside front view http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=630454&uid=481950
  3. I used a C4 cradle assy for my front set up. I basically set it in place centered the cradle and adjusted my wheel base and built the frame to it. Running 10" wide original vette back space rims requires about a 3" flare to clear the tires. I chose this set up because of all the vette upgrades availible and it still uses factory component should something break I won't have to make a part, I can go to the dealer and buy a part of the shelf. Also since the contol arms and rack bolt to the cradle everything is in factory alignment. I measured the angle in the vette before removing the cradle to make sure. Doing this also makes the cradle removable for maintenance purposes. Hope this helps. Rick
  4. What do you mean everything turned off? Just your lights, turn signals or the entire electrical system. It sound like two thing to me, a relay that is losing its control power/ground or a circuit breaker clicking off & on. I have a 74 260 and don't recall there being a circuit breaker in the stock system. But I'll need better details to help you on this one. I worked on avionics on F18's in the Marines and can solve any automotive electrical problem with the right information.
  5. Gotta love the new Z colors on our older ones. Looks GREAT! And thats coming from a paint & body guy.
  6. You are best off to purchase a pre assembled kit such as Painless wiring kits. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=PRF%2D10102&N=700+400012+301196+115&autoview=skuI was an avionics tech in the Marine Corps on F18's. I have been doing wiring on planes and cars for many years. Unless you understand the amperage of the items your trying to power up you could start a fire. The pre made kits are labled and safe. You will save you alot of time vs making a kit from scratch. They are availible for a couple hundred dollars or less. Look in Hot Rod or kit Car mags for them.
  7. Jacksonville Z Club Site is http://www.NEFLZCC.org David Fuentes is the president.
  8. I'll Agree with Larry! I read your last post, and It seems you are looking to be agrumentive. This is not what this board is about! We share info in a friendly manner and DO NOT DISRESPECT the other members that post here.
  9. I'm down in Gainesville and you do have a Z club in Jacksonville also. I'll post there info on Monday. I have there number at work. We will be haveing a race at the Gainesville Roadcourse this fall as well. Rick Hughes
  10. Sweet!! Man I can't wait to get my beast on the road now. Unfortunately I am still waiting to have my shop built and the car is gathering dust in the storage bin. I should be back on it this month with a vengence. Once the suspension and brakes are done the twin turbos will come. Rick
  11. Very nice job. I like to see others with the kahuna's to tackle a project like this. I had wanted to do this but I am 6'3" and definately would not have the headroom even with lowered floors. Please keep us updated. Rick
  12. I served in the 1st Gulf war in the USMC from Aug 90 thru April 91. Having been there, I definately want to thank anyone serving there now and defending our way of life here. I had personally seen the atrocities Saddam's regime inflicted on his own people, think of what more he could have done elsewhere in the world if left unchecked. Semper Fi. Rick
  13. I am biased, but the C4 vette setup was my choice. It is not the ideal geometry, but darn close and alot easier than a full custome set up.. It also allows a lot of brake & wheel/Tire options. The suspension is also feather light, especially compared the the factory suspension. Rick
  14. I just tried them and they work. The white picture trail box is in the upper right corner now. Rick
  15. Thanks for the link Mike! BBZ you can go to the link mike gave you or send me a PM if you want a different angle shot. Rick
  16. Perfect for my front rims. John at CCW is over in Daytona and said he could adjust the rim halfs, if I needed it, so I just bought them. Now if some one can just find a set of used 17x12's for the rear I'm good to go. Thanks for the post Dead Roman. Rick
  17. Henrik, OUTSTANDING JOB! I love it when someone makes there dream into reality. I agree with Terry on your peliminary drawings and planning. I did not have your artistic talants, so I am doing my car by a vision in my head and a few very rough sketches. I had thought of chopping my roof but at 6'3" I barely fit as it is with a helmet on. This was not an option for me. Please keep us updated on your progress. Rick Hughes
  18. Tybo, I do not have exact specs on my car written down. I have a car show this weekend. After that I'll measure the car to get exact dimensions for you. I send you an email. Just make sure you have deep pockets this stuff is not cheap. Rick
  19. We had 3 guys from Gainesville that were flown over to film a guy with a 2004 Dodge Viper all expenses paid. I got to see the raw footage from the race including when their meal ticket totaled his viper hitting a dip in the road at 100 mph plus.
  20. I agree if it's paid for let it be. You'll find time to work on it. Try to find some other Z owners in town or drive to Houston for some inspiration. My car is under construction but I still manage to work on it atleast 1 weekend a month. I'd perfer more time but I'll never sell it. Rick
  21. Stony, I'm not on the road yet. The frame & cage are done the floors are in and I'll be doing the wheel tubs this weekend. As soon as my rims come in I'll finish the flares. I am trying to have it done by next spring at the latest. Rick
  22. I built a 2x3 tube chassis with 85 corvette front & rear suspension and a 12 point cage for my 74 260z. I am running 335/35R17's in the back and 275/40R17's up front. I am building my own flares out of sheetmetal. visit my picturetrail link for pics. Rick
