  1. At this point im pretty sure im going with a flares in the front for tire clearance and im going to vent the sides and tops of the fenders with large louvers as well as an msa type 3 type of airdam. The rear end will be custom made, havnt got an exact plan but some kind of rear pan and diffuser will probably be the outcome.
  2. So can people still join?.I would love to get in on this!!the jada only thing sounds a little purist for hybrid z though.
  3. Wtf,i would say someone got shakey trying to do some porting but i dont know, doesnt look that way, weird.
  4. Yes i also posted about that earlier in the thread,it definately makes a difference.
  5. Sorry guys,i just realized my post is a bit confusing lol.I said 17x9 at first and then 17x11 later.17x9 on all 4 corners is what im shooting for, possibly the 11's on the rear.
  6. Wow,thanks again guys. Now i want to go out and do some tonight:).I almost have the other side done now so i can get some progress on the front soon.
  7. Yea its funny this comes up.I worked for years at a body shop here in maine, and saw a lot of cars during the winter months coming in with damage during (or after)snow storms which there are a lot of.Now what car do you think is by far the most common to see in the shop...thats right, subarus galore.I have worked on subaru body so much i could do it in my sleep now.People are like hey,i have awd,i can go like 70 at all times even though im retarded and i'll be ok.
  8. I was just putting my shell+doors on my lift the other day.Its a 280z and without anything in the car whatsoever aside from the doors i noticed at least a good 1/8" change in the door gap upun lifting the car,i personally would be carefull, and this is why i am going to street cage it:)
  9. Im wondering if there is any formula for calculating appropriate tire sizes for a given wheel.I can figure what tire fits good on a wheel but i dont know how far i can go either way.Basically what i want to do is go with a 17x9 wheel all the way around with my widebody.I would like to know if it sounds reasonable to go 275-40-17 in the rear and 245-45-17 in the front using 17x11's on all four corners?Flame me if needed i just cant find things:flamedevi
  10. I dont want to all out disagree with you but im pretty sure that as light as possible is the best almost always.Any problems caused by being "too light"should probably be remdied by suspension tuning or tire setup.I know that the engine is heavy but as we dicussed it sits really far back, not to mention i really like these motors.Even if the weight issue were enough to be a slight problem i would still go through with it as my car is not going to be anywhere but on the street.
  11. Check out riders anonymous, sweet video of similar stuff but more extreme Find someone with more skills than this guy!!
  12. Rofl!!,sorry katmandu is a place in nepal, which is in asia, not a mountain in africa.I think your thinking of kilimanjaro?
  13. Hmm,note to self:everyone hates americans:cry2:
  14. Maybe its all those pc fans slowing you down:grin:
  15. I have heard this as well about taurus fans, actually almost said something in my previous post
  16. Hmm,i wish i knew that before lol, good to know.Sounds like a good place to post iffy things without fear of criticism:)
  17. 15 fans!!lol, seems like a cool idea at least but i have to agree with naviathan. And i dont think cfm is cfm,the fans probably have a shallow blade pitch and spin fast where i think what you want on a car is the other way around(slower spining and deep pitch to move the air quickly.Im doubting that the fans are going to work that well moving air through such an obstruction as the radiator fins, plus arent they meant to run on AC.
  18. Never. I think maybe hes just saying that the additional weight is offset by the fact that the engine is rediculously short and stays really far back?
  19. More details please, what is the deal with this?? Sorry i didnt see the link
  20. Dang!! that is sick. You are pretty much going the same direction as me as far as the rear half of the car minus the tail lights(although now im thinking?).What kit is this?.Man sometimes i wish i didnt decide to make my own kit, clocked up about 90 hours so far on the rear of my car lol(actually not lol....nlol?)
  21. I myself have been interested enough to get a scale.I have a vg30dett with all the goodies attached sitting in my shop for my swap,it burns me up having it there and not having a way to weigh it lol
  22. Hmm,are you looking to get rid of those??
