1. Use gold plating like Mclarens, gold is the best heat reflector ever.
2. Well considering the financial savings i dont think back up is that much of an issue,i have so many things i need for my car that i cant justify $2000 for an ecu.Not to mention i kind of like the idea of building from a kit.
3. Thanks a lot,the reason i even did this was due in no small part to seeing your car.The first time i saw your album i spent about 3 hours staring at the awesomeness of it all.Good to see that you approve.Once i finish the other side i will start on the front end which should be pretty sweet as well.
4. I always kind of liked this idea, minus the paint job of course. http://www.reactionresearch.com/280yz/projectorlights.html
5. Actually all the other welds did break, somehow this one held up,i think cause there was not much stress on after the others went.
6. That is bs,burn his house down sometime at night. You can make some sweet napalm like stuff by melting styrofoam cups in gasoline till it gets all jelly like and then.....oh wait, sorry, nevermind.
7. Sorry, but that excuse wont work here lol.The part was actually the easiest part of the exhaust to get at.Im thinking maybe the guy was just learning and the others in the shop played a joke on him and told him bearing grease makes a good welding flux??
8. Everything is here in my widebody thread,i havnt started on the rear so it is still a little ugly. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=119847
9. After pulling a customers 4 runner on the lift for exhaust work i discovered why his exhasut has broken in as few places. He had some welding done somewhere out west while traveling cross country. The pics below show only one of the parts that i saw but wow. Also i think this was a body shop to boot.Just imagine how many cars could be driving around with this type of welding done to the frame rails:shock: .Im not entirely sure how some people sleep at night charging money for their work.1 of the pics is what a custom made exhaust flange should look like that i made earlier, the others are examples of what nothing in existance should look like ever, and yes after taking the pic i burned the part on a cross immediately in my backyard. If the person who did this is reading right now, please shoot yourself in the face at once.
10. Motec you say,i'll have to check them out.
11. All kinds of stuff really. Twin turbo z32 motor: Cool suspension: One of a kind body work for sure: Bout it for now:grin:
12. It may have 100 hp more but all in all this car has nothing on the veyron.I realy find it hard to believe that anything anytime in the near future will even touch that car,how is it possible?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfFAZ5-P04I
13. Damnit i hate having my corrections corrected,at least i had the right guy lol. some not mentioned:Pink cadillac, jesus built my hotrod, baracuda.
14. Yes icing is great stuff. As i have stated as well as ledphoot, you cant go wrong with evercoat brand.Even their lower end stuff is better than the cheap stuff. In my experience evercoat rage gold is the best ive used.
15. check this out,you can look at the word datsun in about 50000 different fonts. http://www.signspecialist.com/cgi-bin/font/samples_auto_datsun.cgi/DATSUN/
16. That is a pretty good write up,front drivers are not at all my cup of tea but the content is good.
17. Welders of that nature arent really complicated units,i would fell very safe buying one at those savings.
18. Hmm...didnt find that.Anyway im not really trying to make any kind of "super filler" just wanted to try and save some old stuff i had.I always use evercoat rage gold as it goes on excellent and donsnt sand like granite as the chep stuff does,A.K.A Bondo brand, bond tite and others. This is why i always refer to it as mud or filler rather than bondo, just because bondo isnt filler, its a brand of crappy 2 part stuff.
19. I have a vg30dett basically stock parts wise, however i do plan on getting what i can out of the engine as is(400hp being a reasonable limit).I am very interested in the megasquirt kit.I like all the features and user friendlyness, not to mention everyone here raves about them. What im wondering is...on searching efi ecu's i decided to check out another name im familiar with,Haltech. Now,can anyone please explain why there is a $1000 difference in these units? Is haltech like the preppy boy bmw of ecu's or something,or am i retarded?
