  1. Handing those guys their faces is what this is all about(for me anyway).Dont ever let this happen again!! lol.Use the force.
  2. Wow its hard to imagine that that is 9 inches wider than stock,it look so much like mine.I admit i am moving fairly quickly, although not for good reasons(lack of work lately). But i figure if i do have extra time i might as well work on my car.Probly...i dont know...15-20 hours a week anyway.
  3. Seriously, dont mention that guy,he makes me want to punch myself in the balls!!
  4. Hey everyone ,just thought i would post on my other hobbie aside from cars(small cars lol). The pics below are of a project that i so far have about 300 hours into!.Its a 3 foot long scratch made rock crawler ..rc of course. Its basically an accumulation of about 500 parts so far and im maybe 1/4 done.I have hand fabbed and machined every part on the vehicle exept the obvious, tires, mini heim joints and such. The axles are worm drive 16:1 with custom scale u joints, ball bearing construction and totallty rebuildable. Both axles are steering axles for the 4x4x4 capability.I had to make my own wheels to suit the vehicle as well as my own oil filled coilover shocks too boot(PITA!!!)lol.I have all parts to finish i just need the time to do so,when done it will use a 24 volt gearhead motor, servo actuated high and low range transfer case as well as 4 wheel steering.I have many more pics but if i had time to put them all on i would think i had time to work on all my projects:p Specs so far: 38" long 23"wide About 14 pounds so far, closer to 30 finished 9" high tires Fully adjustable 4 link suspension Am i a huge nerd??....yes indeed
  5. Wow!! thats weird your pic of the rear in progress gives me deja vu bigtime, looks like you must be running 3" wider as well,in fact just by the pics i know that you are, maybe 3.5"?.I was initially going to do something with the front just as you are,but with the fenders mocked up i really kind of like it as is,at this point im thinking im just going to go with some flares for the front actually and spare myself the pain of all the other work ive already been through while gaining room for big meats as well:grin: .I have got my rockers blended in and done most of the body work on one side.Altogether i am really loving how it is coming together,im just bothered by the fact that i dont have my big wheels and tires on yet, instead i have to visualize it while looking at my 14x6's or whatever they are lol. Yay,its my mini muscle car.
  6. Cool show i just hate the host and his stupid words like "aluminium" and "bonnet"lol
  7. I dropped my landcruiser engine from about 5 feet in the air while pushing the engine crane at about 5 miles an hour:bonk:It snagged on a rock and threw the engine as if it were on a trebuchet, hit hard enough to bounce and skit about 2 feet lol.All in all was ok though somehow.
  8. I did that once too,but it was red dissolvable cellulose, ohh the 90's
  9. I constantly have dreams im in a car with some dumbass driver and for some reason the car always goes like 500 miles an hour and crashes off a cliff or something every time, sucks ass
  10. ROFL!! i love how one of the two advertising points is the fact that it has an adjustment knob lol.And it weighs only 17 pounds??? my tig is 276 lbs!!
  11. He also titled the thread vg30dett.With two turbos and all the goodies to go along with it that adds some weight. I should know for sure as im putting one of these engines in my car myself but this is what someone here told me.I have read elsewhere however several times that the vg30dett is 530 lbs and is heavier than vh
  12. Seriously man,do not buy that.I just spent more money on my new tig than i did for my last car($2100) plus accesories and i still nedd about $500 in stuff to get it where i want. For $300 you are way better off trying to find an old mig machine of good brand(even something ancient)used on e-bay or locally.Either that or save some more cash, you simply are not going to get a tig worth owning for less than $1200 and at least $2000 for something worth keeping. This is more than just an opinion(in my opinion)lol
  13. Sweet, thanks everyone.Had another productive weekend,i'll put up some more pics tomorrow:)
  14. Wow!! what a buy. That is really sad that you cant finish that, soo close.
  15. Man i would love to see plans on making some of those!!,sooo cool!! some people have some serious time to burn lol
  16. My favorite prep cleaners are just alcohol and glass cleaner,of course there are many "prep solvents" out there that will work fine.Just always remember to prep clean before sanding or scuffing anything and then do it again after.Otherwise you just end up embedding waxes and grease into the paint or substrate.
  17. Interesting....i certainly fell into the trap myself reading all that stuff lol!
  18. That does give a good general idea, wondering if there is something with a little more info on calculating the figures manualy, thanks
  19. I did search but didnt find just what im looking for.Wondering if there is a thread or link for info regarding what size fuse to use for certain circuits.Or how to determine the proper rating for a certain circuit.Im not great with wiring but i do remember something to do with watts divided by volts=amps or something?
  20. Sweet a gun thread, off topic but i just bought one of these the other day cuz of some crazy guy in my neighborhood, such a sweet gun,oh yeah i have the knife too lol,and no i didnt do it on purpose, had it for years
