ROFL!!! what the $#$%

I have a 78 280z ive been working on for years now,more so lately.Doing a vg30dett swap into the car.My engine is very nice with 40,000 miles on it and i want it to be good by the time i get to start up.So what im wondering is...i had an idea to fill the engine with oil,hook up a battery to the starter and manually close the circuit for 10-15 seconds at a time in attemp to get oil flowing and get everything "wet" again.The engine has been sitting for a couple of years now and turns fine by hand,also in looking through the oil filler all i see is a mirror shiny cam lobe ( i would like it to stay this way until im done as i dont know how long till im done).Plus the weather up hear in maine is a little weird,hot and wet one day,cold and dry the next,followed by blizzards and floods lol.Does this sound like a good idea or should i just spray lube in the cylinders and call it a day?

Yea i guess thats not too bad an idea,considering what ive done to my doors i'd say thats out of the question for me lol.

Just wondering if anyone has ever succesfully thinned out body filler with a solvent and if so what?.Have some old stuff thats almost usable i wanted to salvage.Im a body man myself but never ran into any info on the subject,probably cuz its cheap and no one cares?

That has been my biggest problem from the start.All i know for sure is that it wont be white or red and probably wont be blue.I would love total black out but dont like the maintenance of black.Probably anywhere from dark dark green,to pewter/dark grey,and theres a chance i will still go black.???

Yea fg skins would not reduce weight enough to bother,if at all.I do know of a japanese supplier of fiberglass doors as well as everything else,super top quality!!,but you pay for it.I think the doors were around $1300-1400 each plus shipping!!

Not really,thats why i have it fiberglassed onto the car,not just covered but it wraps around the edges as well+the strength of the filler and the adhesive holding it on as well.

Well i got the one side in my first coat of primer.I usually do what i call a mistake coat lol,basically a couple of light coats with puff can primer to see what still needs attention,luckily very little:grin: .A little easier to visualize now i think,still hate looking at it with those little wheels i currently have.Now i have to start doing th body work on the other side:cry2: Oh and thanks for all the great support and comments,everyones approval is what keeps me up till like 2:00 am on this.

Where are you seeing rust in these pics??..The only rust i can see anywhere in any of the pics is the surface rust on the door striker.The only way i would not buy this car is if it had huge rust holes blown through the wheel wells and floors,but i like body work so even then id probly jump on it.

The stock handles wont fit.However i dont like them anyway so i planned right from the start to make my own,dont worry i didnt overlook that.

Hmm.looks like someone tried to do some porting,and i would say that they are not too good at it,where you get turbo from?
