  1. in response to one of the older posts back there, Braap, how much HP can be had out of a maxima N47 if you can put it on a stroker? at what point does the d shape intake and exhaust liners limit the output?

  5. back a few years ago i had that monza system on my zx and i used the test pipe that came with it from the beginning. its a 2" system like stock, just mandrel bent with a freer flowing muffler. not loud at all but it sounded good if you didn't wanna be obnoxious. probably not much of a performance gain but it sounded and looked good. as far as a test pipe to just replace your cat you can buy two 2-bolt flanges and a stick of pipe from JC Whitney for about $15.
  6. i used the VHT 2000 flat black on my manifold and downpipe but haven't tested them yet, i did the 3 step baking process though, thats supposed to make a difference. we'll see. if it works i'll probably take the time to try it on the turbine housing as well. i know the last step i cooked it at 550 degrees just to cure it. so i'm very curious as to if it'll go to at least 1500 or so.

  8. an electric fan would take care of that breeze for you, lol. reminds me of my 77 with the same thing, cops don't like it, got tired of it quick, but it sounds awesome going down a backroad full throttle, at least my friends said that when they heard it from a distance, lol.
  9. i just bought a set of the yellow top NA injectors and was wondering if they will only work with the L28T electronics or if they will work with the Z31 turbo electronics (84-85) without having to be reflashed? and they are low impedence like stock right?

  11. i have a question, would the ECU and MAF from an 85 turbo work just the same or are there some big differences? i have access to an 85 turbo, i know the chopper wheel will work ok but what about the rest? thanks.
  12. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=015&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=250146606811&rd=1 not trying to threadjack this or anything but wouldn't this be a better choice for a same sided inlet and outlet IC? 2.5 diameter opennings, lots of short tubes for better internal flow and only $170 shipped. i even asked the guy about mounting and he said that the pic is old and that they have 2 bolt holes on each side for mounting. i've thought about it, you guys think it would be big enough for a T3 setup? the core is only 6 inches tall? probably gonna go with one like Gabe has because i want my air filter to get cold air and 3 tubes coming out on one side of the radiator might be a bit crowded , lol
  13. i had thought of using a z31 downpipe myself, i know the outlet is 3 inches but i'm still wondering about the inlet next to the turbo.

  15. not to be a bummer, but most ignition systems don't operate at less than 9.6V and you are right below that. might try putting a strong battery in there and see if it brings the voltage up. if not i would definitely check battery cables, etc. maybe even go so far as to remove the ballast and see if the extra voltage will fire it off, i run my zx dizzy in my 77 without it.

  17. i have one waiting for my turbo build. i bought 6 aluminum injector bungs to be welded into the stock locations and i sawed a TB plate off of an extra manifold and ported it. trading a fellow z-er a KA tranny for the aluminum TIG work. Cost: manifold was about $65 shipped on ebay, injector bungs were $28.50 shipped on ebay from Ross Machine Racing, and the TB plate is considered free. so with different washers for the mounting with the exhaust manifold i'll have right at $100 in this performance manifold. should flow nice up into the higher rpms too.

  19. just a heads up for you S130 guys out there...if i still had mine i'd be all over this. www.classicgarage.com has konis for the zx for $59 for the front and $69 for the rear. pretty sure thats dirt cheap for Konis but i figured someone might be interested enough. just look under items for datsun/nissan and then under 280zx and they were right there. hope someone can make good use. says they are adjustable.

  21. will those 16x8 sportmax wheels fit with stock spring perches with tokico springs on a 77? thanks, very curious but don't have to money to buy them on chance.
  22. how about a displacement of 3.0 or 3.1 and lots of compression, if you wanna keep FI go with a custom intake or even some ITBs.
  23. what size is the rail? 11, 14 or barb?
