  1. how is the silicon spray holding up?? that sound is what makes me want a turbo car and an NA car. i guess the lightweight fairlady will be the NA car, lol.
  2. the twice pipes sound sick for sure! is the MSA system aluminized??
  3. you are talking a difference of 8.3 vs 8.8 compression. not enough to make the decision by itself. i'll be running somewhere closer to 8.3 and about 10-12 lbs and a stock NISSAN hg.
  4. I got a used turbonetics raptor BOV from a buddy for fairly cheap! haven't got to hear it yet, still putting it all together.
  5. Gabe, it is looking awesome man!!! definitely digging the engine!! Working on pulling my engine today and putting together my fresh 0.040 block and pistons and polished crank and painting it dark cast grey! Hopefully it'll be ready to line up with you at DNI!!! FLAT BLACK ENGINE BAYS FTW!!!!!!
  6. SHAZAM!! I wish I would have known this when I was setting up my comp cams camshaft in my 77!!! %#$#$$% instead of waiting a couple of days with motorsport's overnight shipping!! It was supposed to be able to run stock lash pads with the cam and it came out wiping like the #150s in the pics...maybe a tad closer to the pivot but still with some sharpy on the pivot side of the pad. So I shimmed it and checked it and then spent $60 on #150 lash pads to acheive a look somewhere between the #150 and #160 pics. Runs a little better with the thicker lash pads, but I think I was getting more lift than my stock 8.3 compression could use. At any rate, I vote sticky to save others the headache!
  7. i hate the motor but what i hate more is that Nissan could have made it soo much better and didn't.
  8. If it makes you feel any better or worse, my max bid was $1050, bid about 30 minutes left, then got off the internet before I tried to spend more and let it take its course. Thats ALL I had to spend so thats what I bid. My buddy is willing to give me $300 for the 3 Work wheels on it. So that helps a lot, and sorry for the TJ.
  9. I totally understand that Evil. I hope I can prove myself right on this one. If not I've seen fairlady tails go for about $200, webers go for $600ish, the headers might fetch $75, nissan small bumper brackets for 280z like datsun spirit sells for $80, 3 work equip gold wheels, an easy $300 for a hachiroku owner. If I have to make my money back I will, but I hope that it will all stay on the car.
  10. LOL @ the comments on the Ebay car...that i just bought and set in my back yard. my plans are definitely to fix it up. it will take some work but a friend of mine (good friend mind you) just traded me a 75 parts car with some great fenders and other panels and L28 block and N42 head with R200 for the bent up fairlady grill. the passenger side floor pan is not really even there, frame rail was held up by bailling wire. at any rate, webers are frozen up, front end was hit, driver door hit and will need some pulling. spare tire well is actually rust free, lol, and of course battery box is gone and under hatch is rusted good. The headers on it actually seem like a quality brand with 1.75 primaries. tail lights are uncracked, just need cleaning, front turns are busted, front air dam in good shape (urethane). had an allison ignition. i'll be giving zedd findings and bad dog parts some business on the rails and pans. doors are good off of the parts car i'm getting. i can build a nice replacement grill for the fairlady for about $25 and it will look close enough for my tastes, if i decide to keep that, i'd really like to do a G nose some day though. Yeah its a piece and extremely rough but I wanted to save it and not see it parted out. Hell, maybe i'll make it into a wangan replica, except for the tails, lol. the 3 wheels on it are 14 by 7? work equip 3 piece. very nice! BTW, that car there is nice and its an hour and a half closer to me than this one that i bought was. i wouldn't have bought it if i would have had to pay shipping though. half of my family lives in the PC/Lynn Haven area.
  11. that looks awesome! love the TBI idea. would the low profile holley air filter with a filter on each side work? might dress it up a bit more?? but it looks great as is.
  12. if you have one nearby, go to oreilly auto parts and look through their drain plugs. they have one that is 22x1.5 and the head is flat with a 3/8 drive square sunken down for install/removal. fits the egr perfectly. about $12 i think.
  13. sounds awesome! and plenty of ground clearance! thats more than i have with my 2.5 exhuast but it sits about an inch lower than i intended when having it welded.
  14. if the pressure plate has 9 bolts holding it on its a 240mm or 2+2, if it has 6 bolts holding it on its a 225mm or coupe disc.
  15. if anyone else has just one, i really need one. definitely willing to pay for it. got two axles off of ebay but only one had a cap!!!
  16. i must say auxilary that i didn't know it was a cover. and that i would never have been able to enjoy the song so much if they hadn't covered it. and yes mikeatrpi, the pussycat dolls video is the best of the three by far, lol.
  17. favorite 80s song...Tainted Love by Soft Cell!!!! fave movie, GOONIES!!!!!, and the back to the future series of course!!!
  18. yes, it must be running to check timing with a light. double check your firing order on the distributor and make sure it is running in the right direction. ( i did that once and felt like an idiot when someone pointed it out)
  19. the only head that the hydraulic lifters will fit is the P90A that was made for them. some P90As were mechanical from the factory. you convert them to solid lifter using the timeserts that will convert them from 18.5-20.5 thread. all other L6 heads will use the standard mechanical lifters which are the same for all of them i believe. so yes, your N42 lifters will work with them P90.
  20. the stock ZX that gearhead refered to is a T3. i thought everyone knew that.
  21. yes the MN47 has steel seats. it is a couple of CCs smaller than an E31 so it would be ok on an L24 and probably an L26 on pump gas. the E88 is several CCs more than an MN47. i don't know the exacts though. i think the MN47 is around 38.5-39CC and the E31 is like 41ish.
  22. someone already answered that for you in your last thread.
  23. because that looks so good...and the red wrinkle finish on my NISSAN valve cover is peeling...you suck! haha, looking great man!
  24. i have an MN47 laying around that i smoothed the ports on. i'll put it on something one day. it seems to be a good design and great for a street car. if it were me, i'd use it, even if you go with an 84 mm bore.
