  1. I didn't have any problem pulling my tank, however I have receipts stating that a previous owner had all the hoses replaced about 7 years before I did it. If it hasn't been done in 30 years though, your going to have a problem.
  2. It sounds like you have cookies disabled. If you tell me what browser you are using, I can probably give you more information on how to fix that.
  3. Try this URL: http://pic2.picturetrail.com/VOL26/930218/inbox/17139.jpg It is still fuzzy though. What I can see looks good.
  4. I would be interested. MSA's price ($795+$400 for headlight covers) has not induced me to buy it, even though I am local to them. I would pay $600+$100+shipping I think. I'm attracted to the gnose because it has been proven to improve aerodynamics; I like to pretend all my modifications are functional and not just for looks. From that perspective, I would be dubious of any modifications to the Nissan design.
  5. Congratulations, Phil. I hope they finish them ASAP. BTW, are you going to be able to make it to the upcoming BBQ at Tim's? Tim's BBQ
  6. There was a bill before the state senate in 2001 (SB1172) that would have repealed the 30 year exemption. This was based on a recommendation from CARB. This bill was gutted before it made it into comittee, removing any reference to smog checks.
  7. Styling is a function on a race car. If people are staring at the cars body, that helps you get sponsors. It seems to be working.
  8. Inverse square law = 1/R^2. I don't think you can compare candelas in LEDS to candelas in incandescent bulbs because LEDs are not isotropic sources. They only put out light over a narrow angle.
  9. I had never noticed that before, but I think maybe it is because there isn't a close imperial equivalent. IOW, why use 20mm when 19mm is almost exactly 3/4"? You sure do Think Different, Dave.
  10. Edit: disregard, I missed your edit. I always thought "posi" was the GM way of saying clutch coupled LSD. You don't need that to go 12s in a Z. 12.6@106 on "el-cheepo" 215 tires
  11. Here's a thread on why IRS cars launch better than solid axle cars: Thread Now your homework is to go home and do a burn out, you should see two nice stripes. You will then understand why IRS is better (until it breaks.)
  12. There are two threads on the same subject, but I thought I'd answer this here to clear things up. I bought Big Phil's wheels, and the 17x8s he had made do fit back and (according to him) front. They measure about 4.625" from the mounting face to the inner lip. The wheel is about 9.25" from lip to lip. I can't take any measurements on the car, because my suspension isn't on the car at the moment
  13. They will fit on the back, but I'm not sure about the front. I'll let you know the back spacing tonight. On mine, you can fit 235s if you trim/roll the inner fender lip. More may be possible but I have no info.
  14. Head flow data and Cam data You already want more power?

    Nice or Rice?

American Racing doesn't make real 3-piece wheels AFIK, and they typically weigh >20lbs in 17" applications. There's your answer.
  16. If the free length of the spring is in fact longer, and the spring is stiffer, then it follows that the ride height must be higher.
  17. I think your biggest problem is going to be convincing the dimwits at the AAA that "yes, the VIN really is that short" and "no there aren't any more letters." Anything short of a big blower sticking out of the hood should pass beneath their radar. Good luck.
  18. That's so cool, especially since he did it on a highway. In fact, these guys claim to have the "Public highway land speed record" with 207mph.

    CA smog law

I just hope that they don't start regulating tire smoke.
  20. I pulled this off a thread at camaroz28.com: F-body 3.5" B-body 3.25" but... 21. If you liked that, then you will like this game: Porrasturvat You push a little 3d man down a flight of stairs and he falls realistically depending on how you push him.
