  1. So what size turbos are we talking here, and what's the power band those in favor hope to produce?
  2. I need one, the sooner the better. I did this tonight; Thanks, G
  3. ^+1. Not that I'm into drag racing much, nonetheless I'd like to pick this build apart. What a run!
  4. 2460 w/o me in it. No front bumper, fender exit exhaust no muffler, no AC parts, no PS pump, z32 seats, no hvac under the dash, 1/4 tank of gas
  5. I have one from an early 260. Have to verify that its still in the shop though. Will post back in a few hours.
  6. Same thing happened to me last year. 2xx,xxx on the clock. Had this happen on a couple of cars, both without hydraulic lifters, and both motors went down due to rod knock. Worst case scenario (and my guess), worn rod bearings. Come to think of it the last time I pulled a motor that failed the check ball in the block was gone.
  7. Interested in some info about that trans/block adapter.
  8. Just a thought. My friend at the shop makes boots for his people in the world of supras (really he has his mom make em'). I'm sure if he had something to work with he can do em for Z's.
  9. That explains the random open loop hunting I would experience before unplugging the thing and tuning around it.
  10. This was done maybe a month ago. Temps were no lower than the 50's. I mixed an arbitrary amount of paint, what I imagined I could throw on in one session, and it turned out to cover the car a little less than twice, sometimes a little more. I started at the roof, and worked my way around. Rolled out the runs as I went along (always missing a few, sometimes missed alot, these got wetsanded out the next session before coating, with the exception of the last session because I got complacent :/) the area I started on would be tacky enough to lay down another coat once I made it all the way around. You are on the money when you mentioned wetsanding every two to three coats. I shoulda been more clear with my post. I used 600 grit and with my hand ran it over the paint gingerly while running water over it until I was happy with how it felt. This usually took less time than laying down the paint. Runs were treated the same way. There is a certain tactile method to laying down paint this way. You don't wanna put alot of pressure on the roller, especialy if the surface is vertical, because it just gives you more runs to roll out, and it causes flat spots on the roller which causes the roller to slide rather than roll, which squeegees ALL uncured paint off, also contributing to the amount of work. Don't attempt to reuse a roller as I did (they are cheap enough) and you will develop the feel of it. Also clean the paint off of the roller handle, the mixing cup and the tray. The paint on the handle interferes with the rolling action, and in my case the early coats of paint where a few shades darker so as I had progressed the old color bled off the cup and tray into the roller giving me a few off color streaks, which I have also made peace with.
  11. You could match it with black flares, or if you don't plan going down that road a black hood seems to go with it in my mind. Maybe the hatch too...
  12. The air dam you see in the pics was sourced from a gentleman in Texas who apparently tracked his car at least a few times. There are holes cut out on both sides where he riveted in ducting. The center Rad area is DEFINITELY sagging. I went to the shop earlier to finish welding up the sheet metal for the fuel cell area and came across the plastic mixing cup I used to mix the paint. I squeezed the cup to deform it and the paint cracked off immediately. Brace the air dam well. I will be putting the above mentioned rad area brace in, I am just not sure if I will be needing to work around an intercooler yet...
  13. ^^ my first and last attempt at buffing. I threw my last coat on after and left it alone. There is hella dust in there since I did it in the open, but I have made my peace with it.
  14. This is how it ended up looking. It took me about two weeks to get it like this, not including the prep, which I definitely rushed, because I'm sick of driving my zx with all its rust. I just wanna daily it. I put on one coat a day on weekdays and everyday there was wet sanding to do beforehand. I used two quarts of gloss smoke gray and one of gloss black to get this color, thinned nearly 1:1 with mineral spirits, a little heavy on the paint side, to get a milky consistency. If you wanna do this start right now. Cover your ass with respect to time. As for the bracing, it seems like a good idea, and I had the same thing in mind, but my brace would be an undertray/splitter that mounts to the air dam all the way around.
  15. I just did this to one of mine. Didn't bother with a flex agent, but I'm not driving it yet so I can't say how it will hold up
  16. Not sure, but there's a shop my friends and I occupy in bridesburg. Between us there's a z31, an s130, two s30's, an sp311, two mkiv supras and one mk3. I'm there virtually every night, tooling away. Welcome to Philly
  17. You know, I've been thinking about this alot lately. Got a ten year old pit of some sort I call Bruno. I'm twenty six, and he's the first living being that I've had to be fully responsible for. Someone gave him to me at the store I used to work at because his p.o. got locked up, and he was alone in the apartment. I wasn't allowed to bring a dog home, this being my third attempt, but apparently Bruno's got some charm as my granma got attached almost immediately. He has been one of the best things that's ever happened to me, an apt alternative to having children for me at this time. Alas, his activity level has seen a steady decline and I've been pondering his waning days. I've come to the decision that when he dies, it will be at home with the family that loves him. Last year I was trying to run a shop for some fool who got himself arrested, and one of the customers owed me a hundred and ten bucks. Maybe he was short on cash, but he brings me this three month old blue/brindell pup. A month later he came down with parvo, he was in such a pitiful state that I had to resort to pedialyte enemas to keep him alive. I named him Whisky, and he's a year and a half now. When I figured Bruno's age, I got sorta desperate to mate him, so I could hold onto one of his posterity. No one wants to mate with an old dog though. However, Whisky has learned from him to such an extent that I feel like he may as well be his descendant. I wonder how many times I will have to bury one of my boys before it's my time. It's a hard pill to swallow. I made my decision against euthanasia, but far be it from me to be unsympathetic to your plight. I'm sorry for your loss. ^Bruno^ ^Whisky^ Adopting a new best friend is the only way I would deal with losing mine. There are plenty that need proper homes out there.
  18. I could use an extra hood, what are your terms for the vents, shipped to 19124?
  19. Need a pair, paint needs not be perfect, but they need to be sound otherwise.
  20. Cuz handing out spankings is more gratifying with old school parts
  21. Havent had one that wasnt a problem yet. Currently driving an s130 thats the worst by far. Got an s30 pending a fate identical to calvin280zx's, and another that i want to competely go through after. Gonna donate the s130 frame to friend who could use the cash from the scrap.
