That's a very far forward engine mounting position. IMO to tweak those headers that much, you're going to have to notch the tubes and bend them in, and then you're going to wind up with the flange at a big angle. Heating or welding the tubes will destroy the ceramic coating.
The Hookers may work, they're made for the scarab mounting position.
Like Dan says, I would give converting it to the JTR setup some thought. It has a lot of advantages.

If the stock radiator is in good condition, and you put a good fan & shroud on it, and work on the airflow, it may well do the job in street driving. It would be worth a try.
I have been using a 24x19 Griffin for about 5 years with no issues.

Those are nice groups. Bedding it may help a little, then again it might not be a significant improvement. I would be tempted to leave well enough alone.
Most 22's are pretty ammo sensitive in my experience. What works well in one won't be worth a flip in another, you just have to experiment and see what your rifle likes.

None of the "shelf" headers for a Z are big enough for 18 deg heads, you are looking at a set of customs to complement the heads. Also be aware you may need pistons cut for the valves, and a really nice rocker setup. Lots of power, but also lots of $$$$$$.

Those are very nice comp test results, nothing wrong there at all. Smoke on startup is most likely the valve stem seals or guides. If it bothers you try replacing the seals and see if there is much wear in the guides while you have it apart.

I wouldn't sand it. It will run quite a while like it is. I would put some thick oil in it, like 90W, and give it a try. It may or may not have some noise.

My initial thoughts are that setup is too high, but only a mockup and some measurements would tell for sure. I'm almost certain it would be too high for a S30.

Check the reaction disc in your brake booster. A search will turn up lots of info on how to do that. If it's still in place, you probably need a new booster.

Do you have the mounting for your alternator, ac, and ps all worked out? That's going to be a big factor in pulley selection, and it may be a challenge without the accessory holes in the heads.
I have March pullies on my sbc. Pricey but they are nice pieces and they work.

My two cents:
Build the third garage the same depth as the double, and don't put the break in the roofline. Widen the garage enough for three 9' wide doors, and consider putting the garage and the house on the same level to eliminate the steps.
Also, what's going to support the beam? Are you going to have a column in the middle of the garage?

Very Nice. I like the color, and the satin looks much better than gloss IMO.
Seems like only two threads of engagement is not good. Is that how it's supposed to be?

Car looks great. I love it.
Are these the bias or radial FA tires?
I wish spinwerkes had a functional website. Did you buy dirertly from them or a dealer?
John
My suggestion would be to shop around and find a nice used Model 700 in the version and caliber you like. I think it's a lot more rifle for not much more money.

I would suggest some more research to figure out exactly what you're going to need before buying an incomplete setup. Then you won't have any ugly surprises. By the time you buy all the missing pieces, it may not be much of a good deal.

Bah. Drag racers and sprint cars run methanol, which is pretty corrosive. Ethanol, the stuff in E85, is far less corrosive, not even in the same league as methanol. Both are alcohols, but there is a lot of difference.
