  1. Dude stop getting defensive. We arent attacking you. Im planning on switching to disk in the back also. I personally just want to make sure you go after the culprit of the problem and not throw disks on thinking you fix it and then your disks lock up also. I am by NO means a purist. Ive been spending the last couple hours hacking up my Perfect fender lips so I can run ZG's And my car will be getting a 2jz-gte when the zxt blows up. I just want to see you do a good job on your car and actually fix the problem and not just throw parts at it till it works. Its just a wast of money and time doing that. Good luck.
  2. Easy there turbo. He wasnt pointing fingers at you. The point is a good working drum system works fine for the street. Your system was not defective. Defective means there was a part that broke when it shouldnt of. I dont think you can call any part on our cars defective after 30+ years of service. Your system just wasnt maintained well. Not saying you neglected it just that i was neglected. and honestly it sounds like you have a problem with your E-brake set up that might not be in the drums them self it might be in the mechanism and that its not releasing correctly.
  3. EFFING PRICELESS!!!! lol I vote sticky. Battlesquaddatsun we are not trying to discourage you from doing this swap. We would honestly love you to do the swap. We just dont want to tell you information that we all know is out there and has been covered a million times. Its one of the rules on here that i think hasnt been reinforced lately and its been getting worse.
  4. If you feed a man once he eats for a day. TEACH a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime!!! In other words dont give him the answers let him search for them. They are there. If we give every body the answers with out them working for them it just makes them lazy and they will always come back to ask more questions that have been answered a billion times before
  5. There is now way that car made that much power on that set up. ESP. with the SU's
  6. Saw it for my second time tonight. Absolutely AMAZING!! It was as big of a thrill the second time as it was opening night. Ledger's performance was astounding. I am going to see it on IMAX this coming weekend. I hope it breaks all records for opening weekend. Does anybody know why Katie Holmes didnt play rachel again?
  7. I went to school for Duc's They are great machines. Just make sure you take care of your valve adjustments. Every 6k street or 3k race. And on the break in.. Ive seen 2 monsters dyno'ed back to back and they where both purchased at the same time and one was flogged and one was done by the book. both had about the same hp. with in a hp or 2. So i would just drive it normally.
  8. Thats what i thought. But if i recall correctly it was the tranny that was giving them problems wasnt it? But if they made the STS-V with the northstar motor in a RWD platform it opens up a new motor to us.
  9. I know that but Im referring to the motor in the STS-V that was what deja originally went up against. We all know the LS swap is a good swap. But if we can do the northstar swap easily now with the trans in the STS-v why not add that to the doable list
  10. Im totally not a v-8 guru but hasnt the northstar motor only been front wheel drive?? and this has the northstar motor with a rwd tranny apparently.... can we say new option for a Z perhaps???
  11. lol they just deflate your tires and make your car sit lower lol
  12. I just put mine in finger tight. Ive done 3 or 4 oil changes with it hasnt come out yet. Even if it does you just unthread it from your filter and stuff it back in your block. No biggie
  13. The quick answer is no. The long answer is yes but you would have to have a small fortune to spend and then you would actually have to find them. So for the average hobbiest its a little impractical
  14. That sucks on the fire. But honestly from my experience with water in motors. mind you its always been jetski's and dirt bikes (yes ive sank a few dirt bikes trying to cross a river lol). As long as you get the water out shortly after its not that big of a deal. for starters i would take out the spark plugs and if you can crank the motor or poor alcohol in the cylinders and down the intake. Then fallow that by alot of marvels mystery oil. It will crawl in all the nooks and cranies of the engine and protect it. And also do that with the engine oil also. All of this is if you cant get to it right away. if you can more than likely all you will need to do is take it apart and clean it up and put a new gasket kit in it. Good luck
  15. Got my tickets for tonight also. Im so freaking stoked. ITS GONNA BE AWESOME!!!!
  16. Alright, update time. Got the zg's mounted on one side. Started the body work on the rear quarter around the wheel well on the drivers side. That will be the end of the body work that was caused by the accident which is honestly probably around 60% of the work that needs to be ready for paint. Well here are the pics again. Im really happy with the way the zg's turned out. I was afraid that my car wasnt going to be low enough since im only running stock suspension with cut springs. But it has a nice stance to it that i can live with till i get my ArizonaZcar coil overs sometime in probably the far distant future. Well its late and i need sleep. Later all
  17. 275/40-17 in back and 255/40-17 in the front. i think they would but i dont see the need. I might actually space the front out a bit as my clearance to the spring perch is probably around or under an 1/8th of an inch. Just a tad close for my liking. Ill have to do it later though.
  18. Here are some pics with the zg's mounted also. there is no way to get the rears on with out flaring. But i do believe it might be possible to get the fronts. I also believe you might be able to put the 9inch with -13 offset in the rear and have it fit. but i believe both would require alot of lip rolling and fender stretching. Here we have Grassroots motorsports mag's employee Greg Vogth actin a fool. And i wont be in daytona next year. Im moving at the end of the month. hence the rush to get my car painted. I actually live in ormond beach not daytona but people dont know where ormond is.
  19. 700 by money order or 750 by cc. But i dont think he has any left. i think i got the last set.
  20. na the brembo brake caliper covers took it to a new level.....
  21. yep sure will. Some plug it some leave it in place. Mine is still in place but you dont run your vacuum/boost source from it to your wastgate.
  22. Which set of wheels? the new ones? or my old ones? And ive looked around and i cant find the lifters. And i know they where in the box. Ill refund ya some money but idk what happend to them. I might go by the ups store and ask tomorrow.
