  1. According to a link Mikelly posted Bill Scott just passed away I hope this still happens. It will be great to have 3 tracks within driving distance of the DC area.
  2. I know I am bumping an old thread but I have a relevant question. I bought a CSR electric water pump for my L28ET and I bought it from someone else who had never used it. I need to get a shorter belt for my alternator as that is the only thing I will be driving off of the crank. Does anyone know what size/length belt I need and/or have a part# for a belt that fits? Thanks.
  3. This is a long shot, but when you finally got yours installed what method did you end up using?
  4. I had the same problem. I ended up just ordering mine from Courtesy Nissan after trying numerous parts places and numerous non Nissan parts. Edit: the part# I ordered for my 280ZXT R200 which may be different is Nissan # 38342-N3100
  5. Those are definitely wheel center caps. I'm not sure which OEM wheel they go with, not the swastikas...those had a center cap like in the picture I've attached. Just found two other pics on ebay of snowflake wheels that have a cap that look like yours. This ebay auction has the same cap, but I don't know if the information is accurate.

  7. Thats a great time. How much boost were you running?
  8. Wow, that is pretty awesome. Had no idea that you could even blast with dry ice.
  9. This is correct. I have the LD28 main bearing cap bolts on my L28ET, they take more torque than the regular bolts.
  10. Looks great, pretty close to the wheel. If you are worried about the wheel weight you could get your wheels rebalanced dynamically and have the shop use the adhesive stick on weights rather than the clip-on lead weights. If you get worried about the stick on weights flying off, I've seen racers use the aluminum tape over top the weights you see on duct work...not actual duct tape. Where did you source your high-misalignment rod ends and how much were they?
  11. I have a few I could sell, but they are each .020" over.
  12. Why would something like the RedLine racing CV-2 high temperature grease with moly in it be inferior to generic off the shelf white lithium grease in this case? Any particular reason? Is there specific dirt or moisture retaining properties that white lithium has over a more expensive grease like RedLine? I'm honestly asking.
  13. There was a '73 240Z that sold at Barrett Jackson Las Vegas last month for likr $15,500. It was a red original survivor with about 77k on it in nice shape.
  14. They look good, post some pictures on the car and let us know if they are long enough or if you have any clearance problems with your wheels.
  15. You can still get them for the 240Z's new for about $60. You could possibly adapt one of those, but it'd probably be more trouble than its worth.
  16. Damn, those look good. Wish someone did make something like those available for sale.
  17. I've looked for these too with no success. Subscribing.
  18. The best aircraft remover I've used is Tal-Strip made by MarHyde. You can find it at Advance Auto Parts.
  19. I don't know if that will solve your problem, but yes you can pull out the shifter easily. Its just 4 bolts on the shift plate to pull out the assembly. If your trans is indeed a T5 you can use any shifter or short shifter from the T5 '80-90's Mustangs. I have a Pro 5.0 shifter on my T5 out of an '83 ZX Turbo. - picture of T5 shifters. http://www.az-zbum.com/information.transmission.shtml - Z31 Transmission Info
  20. At some point some of the guys on here were going to be making those. One of the guys involved was the guy that runs Bad Dogz, but I hadn't heard anything since the initial thread they had showing pics of them making the fiberglass molds for the spoiler and flares.
  21. All of the Wal-marts around me stopped carrying the 3M undercoating and now only carry Rustoleum. This was a recent change, I don't know if thats the case everywhere.
  22. XTD the ebay clutch company? Those clutches are known to be complete junk.
  23. Are you using push on rubber fuel lines with clamps or -AN lines & fittings?
  24. The 3M professional rubberized undercoating is on sale at my local Advance Auto Parts for 2 for $12 which is a pretty decent deal. The 3M rubberized is what I sprayed in my wheelwells on my Z and it seems to be ok. It doesn't match the undercoating on the car as the particulate is a little finer and its harder to build-up. The nozzle also seems to clog very easily but I was just putting the clogged ones in Acetone and rotating the tips out as each one clogged. It took about 2-2.5 cans to do each front wheelwell putting on about 2-3 thick coats each. I haven't had the car on the road yet so I don't know about its durability but it seems like while the top coat has some minor flakiness when you scratch it, you can't get very deep with the scratch without truly digging in so it seems like it will hold up pretty well.
  25. Thats not what Bob Sharp says in his Datsun Competition Preparation Manual that was published in the 1960's. He says in section 4-14 in regards to the Camshaft: "Although the stock Solex camshaft has proven to be quite efficient at 6800RPM, more horsepower and higher revs can be realized from a re-ground unit. The Solex cam has enough material to grind almost any profile that will give horsepower readings of 185 at 7200 RPM's." and in section 4-16 in regards to the Valve Springs: "The stock valve springs are totally adequate for use with the Solex camshaft if the revs are held to 7000 RPM's. If a racing cam is used and the revs will be exceeding 7000 RPM, it will be necessary to install a spring strong enough to accelerate the mass of the valve train at such a rate that the rocker arm will stay on the camlobe at least 500RPM above the desired red line." I'm not saying that manual is gospel, but Bob Sharp was pretty successful and if that manual was written in the 60's and he was running it at high RPM's back then. Well, we must have better components & bearings nowadays that would allow you to run at least at the same higher RPM's. If you don't have a copy of that manual or haven't read it, you can download it for free at www.Datsun.org
