  1. heres something you should try and do. Have someone crank the car and test the voltage directly on the fuel pump. Chances are there is less than 1 volt going to the fuel pump. that is the problem I am having in my 75. I tried to use a switched 12volt source the battery, and I keep running rich. I pulled the plugs and they were black with soot or ash can't remember, and they smelled of gas just a little bit.
  2. Hey you know the old saying "You get what you pay for" if you want quality products you have to pay good $$
  3. mine has three 12 inch mtx 6000 subwoofers, and one 1000 watt interfire amp. I hope to get a memphis m3 mojo amp and subs. one 4000 watt amp with three 12 inch 1000 watt subs. My car will be for shows
  4. i have another question...Where isthe needle suppsedto be for the oil pressure? I let my car idle, and get to operating temps about 190, and I nticethe ol pressure guage is 1/4 of an inch mabe a few more hairs ast that of the 0 mark. what should he oil pressure be. heres something else too, the needle is about 3/4 of an inch to the left ofthe 0 psi line when i start my car, and slowly goes up and moves the whole1/4 of an inch past the 0 psi mark so should I count from where it starts to where it stops ? If not then I am thinking i need a new oil pump.
  5. I am working on a fiberglass subwoofer box for the back of my 280z coupe, I will try and post some pics on monday or tuesday
  6. ok thanks...the corrosion shuld e at the cnector unde the seat, and what color is the fue pump wire under the drivers seat?...I traced the wire from he fuel pump, mine is green, andI loos it as soon as it goes into the car?
  7. personally I really don't like the whale tail spoilers,.....maybe they just have to grow on me. i guess
  8. If both regulators were from different cars, I really didn't have the money to buy new ones, and I think black dragon only sells on side, and if i was going to try and search for one it would have taken me at least a month, just like it did for my window.
  9. and thats when I might get one. but I heard you could buy a ls1 or ls3 and put a supercharger kit on it
  10. I drove past my car that was in front of this repair shop for a month before i decided to stop and look at it, and I bought it that same day. I was lucky and so was the car because they owner was going to fill it with railroad ties and take it to the junk yard for scrap money.
  11. I was thinking of doing the same thing with the neons under the car, but decided against it 2 reasons, its a classic car, and two there is no room at the rear of the z because the gas tank is to close to the back of the car so you would only be ablle to run 3 neons under the car. I am still considering a few neons inside the car for some accent lighting.
  12. so are you going to be making any new videos since you fixed your car.
  13. Doesn't the stock 280z use I think off hand a 45 amp alternator? at least thats what I heard, I want to do a GM alternator swap anyway.
  14. I'LL DO IT........when the people in hell get ICE WATER....LOL. 20,000 for a crate motor i don't think so. Hey maybe someone can get a wrecked zr1 corvette when they come out with the ls9 and swap that motor and trans in it might be a little cheaper, but not by much. Can you put a supercharger kit on the LS2?...I really haven't searched for that kind of question.
  15. you should clean out the injectors, or you could get new ones for about 50.00 each from autozone, or advance auto parts. Here is a picture of my fusible links I upgraded the grren one is 40 amps, and the black is 80 ithink can't remember off hand. They also have these at the auto part stores for 3 or 4 dollars each. http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm195/hybridzmaster/IMAG0026.jpg I had to put electrical tape on the black fusible link to make sure it doesn't contact the car and make sparks, or a fire......SAFETY FIRST thats how you avoid serious injuries.
  16. that is EXACTLY the answer I was looking for. Thank You. I will be putting 2 more gallons in on monday, so I will see where that goes, and if the fuel pump is going out...which I doubt I have a few extra pump laying around my garage. One more thing if the fuel pump relay is working correctle, but not sending the voltage it should, and I hard wire the fuel pump in what would I be risking...maybe a fire? I have one more question. If my car runs lean would I be able to pass emmissions better?
  17. I was wondering how many inches did thekit lower your car, and did you have to trim the wheel lwells to fit the 17x7 tires?
  18. were they lowering springs? Thats what I want to get but I don't know what struts or shocks to get time for more searching.
  19. Thats car looks good for 300 dollars. I bought my 75 280z when last year when I was 17. I'm 18 now and I painted it 2 weeks ago flat black. Heres some pics tell me what you think. It took me 6 months of prep work because of the little time I had to work on the car. http://s296.photobucket.com/albums/mm195/hybridzmaster/ and here is a link of thepaint I used. I had to buy 3 kits to paint the whole car. http://sem.ws/Catalog.asp?prod=270 This paint looks absolutely great on my car
  20. I am thinking out loud Right now so bear with me it is confusing even to me....... If I am able to keep the fuel pressure at 36-38 PSI and get the car to run. Will the AFM or whatever controls the pulse of the injectors be able to keep the car running and still be able to pulse the injectors to the RPM's of the car. Because one thing controls the injectors, and something else will control the fuel pump correct? So what I am basicaly trying to say is if I keep 36-38 psi in the fuel line, whatever that controls the injectors will still control them like normal? I am even confusing myself right now.
  21. do you have any pics of this new new project car
  22. I washed my car yesterday, and it looks even better with all of the dust off of the car. I also used a wire wheel, a power drill, and some wax, and shined up the old stock rims. They look beautiful...NOT PERFECT, but beautiful from a distance with the sun shining off of them. I really would like to see more comment of my finished paint job.
  23. (I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPOSIBLE FOR ANYONE DOING THIS TO THEIR OWN CAR< AND DANAGING IT) All I did UNFORTUNATELTLY was drilled new holes in the door for the glass channel, and the regulator channel. I drilled 1 inch under the regulator channel and bolted it in, and I drilled 1/2 inch away from the front of the car for the glass channel to line everything up perfectly. I only did this because I was getting so frustrated with the stock bolting positions, because it was still far off from correct.
