  1. Millermatic 251 is sweet $$$$ It does just about everything for you.
  2. I saw a guy with V8 283? (it was chevy) in a 280zx. He ran 15.8 sec So my guess is if you are not doing 350ci or more V8, (except 327's) not going to be too happy with the result.
  3. you can always stick your finger in the dizzy cap
  4. I had a bad connection to the hazzerd switch and that was messing up my blinkers even though my my hazzerd worked fine.
  5. I still like to try that crower cam.
  6. I'm just surprise that you actually found an cast iron oil pump
  7. I've experience, but I have no money That's what I get for going through school.
  8. the flange looks like an one piece flange. With SS, you can't do that unless you want the header to stretch so far that it'll crank or break a stud. need to cut them so the metal has place to stretch. 304 SS has higher thermal expansion than mild steel. -corky bell
  9. hmm. I could do that. How much would that cost?
  10. James, that's some good info I think cutting the flange will work though. hehe. Where did your header crank at? just wandering because it was so pretty.
  11. Norm, that's what I basically runs. E88 with .080" shaved It's not like P series, it's more like E31. A semi-close chamber. Well, at least my head look like that.
  12. I might take up on that offer. I just need a inspiration to get my cam out. I also want couple more solid runs dwon the track. I think I can shave the time down to 15's flat. I might go this Sunday.
  13. That's fine with me, If your crower cam is missing, I didn't take it
  14. i'll give you $40 fot it No, really, is it for sale?
  15. L9 sounds like a good upgrade. 280deg/.490" lift. Not going to do the Crower because you guys all ready got them. Ira's cam is probably too big for a EFI to handle.
  16. I'm running schnider 274 deg/ .480" lift cam in my car now and I'm getting tired of it I think It just not pulling hard pass 6k rpm. Even with 10.3:1 compression (the cam powerband supposed to be 2k-6k rpm) I want to be shifting at little below 7k every gear. I was cranking 210-220 psi of pressure with this cam so I'm think I need just a little bit bigger cam. I've retarded some cam timing but still not as hard as I want on top. I've couple chioces now, clifford 288 deg/.510" lift cam, web cam 266 deg/.488", or schnider 270/280deg/.460". Any suggestion would be nice.
  17. that's just sick Norm I'll be doing some good if I can cut some 2.0sec 60 ft.
  18. If the money is concerned then my $15 E88 beats all.
  19. Me either This subject should be locked in a sealed box and throw into the Pacific ocean
  20. Anyway, the point is either way you go, P or N, the HP is going to be about same. Dan, we can't compared your N42 head and stock P head. BTW, I run shaved .080" E88 with N47 valves. Which is like large valve E31. (semi-open chamber) 10.3:1 with small conpared with Dan's cam , on dishtop pistons.
  21. Why are you arguing? between late zx and early zx, late zx produced 10HP HP at the crank. In stock conditions. So are you saying the Nissan deside to rate the late zx different from earlier one? That would be wierd. Like you said, the 0.2 did not add 10HP to the later zx.
  22. that might be good. make sure that you don't have too much slack in the timing chain. before that, check your compression. That should tell you some problem.
  23. Dan, there is a hard number from the factory. The late zx motor with P series head produced 10 crank HP more than earlier zx with N series head. And don't say it's because of the compression difference. Been there and done that with Bob. 0.2 compression difference doesn't give 10HP increase. Anyway, there is a way to get the open chamber run as good, better, or close to close chamber head and that's giving the spark better flame front. I think MSD box helps that. I read 5% HP gain.
  24. I think your cam is too small. Post the spec and may be we can go from there. You also should try retarding the cam timing. you might be building too much cylinder pressure. Mine is couple degree retard also.
