I've seen ppl used the holes for motor mount to hold the motor side way before. But I've my engine on stand with four head bolts in the beall housing holes.
I knew the bolts were not going to clear the 3 inch DP but I didn't think DP was going to hit the firewall I was going to go head and make 3 inch DP so when ever I upgrade the turbo, I won't have to redo the DP again.
Problem with using a flange is I can't clear the nuts. the studs are too close to the pipe. I can go from 2 1/2 in. and step up to 3 in but I think I'm going to have the DP too close to the fire wall and AC plumbing.
This might be silly but has anybody considered welding a 3in. 90 deg mandrel directly on to the wastegate housing? I was think I could weld 90 deg mandral, add a flange on the other end and have a other 90 deg bolted on with flange.
I figure that way I can clear 3 inch DP all the way back
O, the welding would be done with Nickle rods.
Mine trapped 91mph in 1/4mi. (my ET sux because lack of tune that night)
78 280z with everything on the car except spare tire and bumpers. around 2800lb with me (150-160lb) in it.
It's not fast but I got what I claimed. I love to dyno but I got a span rod bearing so it's going to have to wait.
I'm about 4HP away from 200HP on L28 with one sick rod bearing according to HP caculator. That's 164RWHP. I'm still running too much fuel, fan clutch, AC, and stock air box. I think there some place for improvement for couple more HP.
you should be able to UPS it. I've sent two 280z bumpers to CA. I took it to mailbox etc once and other time I just put two moving boxes together then shipped it.
Gas tank was hard to send through UPS. lol
I had it hot tanked before shipping it.
There are also 2 different 280z too if you want to get technical. 75-76 with heavy chrome bumper and 77-78 with lighter bumpers and lighter bumper shocks. (they are still heavy) 77-78 also had a bigger gas tank too I think so the wet curb weight, it'll be little bit heavier than dry weight.
I'm going to run L26 with P79 with OE headgasket with stock T3 and L28ET ECU down to the knock sensor. I'll have it running before mext month is over so, I'll report what it'll do.
O, I got a really good IC so I should be good.

This is pretty good article. plastic end on supra isn't good but I figure you can strap it and it'll be okay.
