  1. Okay, update. I can get full boost with my set up as long as I can hook. I can't hooked the 1st gear but as soon as I get 2nd and hook, I get full boost.
  2. I doubt it's going to be a turbo car. 10:1 compression. .080" with flattop would be around 10:1-10.5:1, .100, you'll be closer to 11:1. I've seen a P90 set up with .120" shaved off with big crower cam.
  3. Sounds like something you would do. 1)Alumnium heads would be a better choice since it can lose heat faster than cast iron heads. Less detonation. 2)Sanny's blue 240Z ran TecII, Hesco dyno tuned it. 3)You well need more than 14 spi for sure 4)7:5 to 1 compression and alot of boost. I would like to see you stick a LS1 with TT. LS1 comes with pretty flexiable ECU.
  4. you'll need a bigger cam I would think.
  5. I was also told to keep it kind of low or the weld will cool down too fast.
  6. You not suppose to weld SS and mild steel but you can do it. I would just go buy a nut from a hardware store for $.86 a piece. (It's std. coarce thread)
  7. I guess you can get away with thicker valve spring shims too but you can just get a thicker lashpads for about $2-3 a piece. Off course, that's only if the valve spring retainer will hold the thicker lash pads.
  8. The .080" shaved head will clear the flattop just fine with .480" lift but just to be sure, do the clay test. And I don't know why you are shimming the valve springs .080"? you only need to do that if your valve seats been shaved or using longer valves. Or you will bind the valve springs with .480" cam. .480"+.080"=.560"
  9. Well, I'll let you know what happens with L26 with .050" flattop and P79@14 psi boost. (8:1 comp.)It hasn't blown up yet but I've been dumping alot of fuel. Also, it has been below 32 deg too I'm going to turn it down some may be.
  10. Those IC is not made by Ford, I think it's part of Internatioal Truck. May be Modine.
  11. As much as I know, the factory knock sensor is just a pipe tread. Mine fits on pipe thread at least.
  12. I got a friend with B16 with a Greddy kit. He's only running low boost (4-7psi) But he's running 10:1 too so I guess if you drop the compression you can get little more boost. Those got a pretty thin cylinder walls.
  13. I know what you saying. I got a early z trans with 11lb flywheel and 3.90 gear. I can't really get the boost up to 10's until end of second and thrid gear. Well, may be I've not tried hard enough I need more fuel.
  14. More stroke will generally require different pistons and rods. stroke/2+rod length+ wristing height to figure out the combination you need. I think SR's are 136mm rods with 30mm wrist pin.
  15. For turbo?, there was a topic on that subjust awhile back on turbo/supercharger section below.
  16. I would think he can get more boost with a-w IC. how about more fruwl pressure or bigger injectors and more boost?

    how much

    $250 to about $300 if it's a rebuilt unit.
  18. Nissan motorsports still carries them. I lost their web address $3 a piece from them I think.
  19. ARP makes them. Ceck out Summit Racing catalog.
  20. O, Greddy type-S, it's loud The fast and the Furious loud
  21. I just go my car running and I got a Greddy BOV on stock AFM. Well, it smokes when the BOV is open (I'm guessing it's rich) and it does leak at idle alittle. No idling problem though. I've been tighting the BOV but it has try to die on me between shift couple times. But I think it's doable. I just got to mess with it some more. I'm going to recirculate it when the outlet adapter comes in. The Sequential suppose to leak less but I don't know if that's really true or not. Going to sleep now, I've been up since yesterday.
  22. 78 came with 4 and 5 speed. The 5 speed is like 4+overdrive no difference in 1st-4th gear. The overdrive is not that great though. Only about 500rpm difference on the interstate.
  23. If the officer doesn't show up at the court you can be excused for a lack of witness or something like that. Somebody else might know more about this. Anyhow, go to court and fight. At least they can give you some break on the fee.
