  1. Probably pretty accurate. My old 240Z with 6L LQ9 v8, racing buckets, stripped interior, roll bar.. etc. weighed 2650lbs.
  2. Okay, you need to go in depth on how you're planning on running your water pump system. I see you have fittings welded on plates already. I must know more. I also want to run an electric water pump to make setting up the pulley system easier, but it seems like the only ones for the LS motors are around $600.00. Way more than I'd be willing to spend. But it looks like you've got that figured out, and it should be super efficient. More info plz.
  3. On a closer look, the seams are definitely welded by a robot, or some sort of machine. The bosses are welded by a human though. Makes me want to do some aluminum fab work though.. very nice. Also, the sides of the tank are one piece bent in three places and welded on one seam, the top and bottom are then welded on, then the bosses and the mounting tabs.
  4. As a welder myself, I'm very impressed with the quality of the welds on the tank. I wanted to make my own, but I need to work on actually finishing my projects.. lol. I have some 5" dia. aluminum tubing that I'm going to make an intake out of. We'll see how that goes in the future.
  5. Surge Tank. Need larger fittings than -6AN. I think the fuel line is like -12. Still working on the newest 260Z.. stripping paint off the hatch, and doors are mostly done, I think I'm going to have them blasted.
  6. I have a LS7 clutch/flywheel. Should hold +500hp. I upgraded to the Fidanza 13lb flywheel. The LS7 clutch/flywheel is larger, and will hold more power than a LS1 clutch/flywheel. LQ9 6.0L Texas speed MS3 cam Texas speed CNC port/polish LS6 heads. LS6 intake manifold. Dynoed 420whp. ~480hp.
  7. It should work the exact same as a surge tank. Although, most surge tanks are larger, and have a lot larger fittings for high HP engines.
  8. Very nice! Makes me want to go put the monkey bars in my track car, too bad I have so many other damn projects. I was interested in the bars in the rear of the car, but I understand the need to have some crumple area in the event of an impact.
  9. Personally I would just go with the same size pistons, save money, and put it elsewhere. The money you save on the calipers will take a while to equal out to how long it takes to make the savings back from purchasing new pads.
  10. I drove 2200 mi in 2 days, from Hollywood to Wisconsin in July in a 260Z and never really found heat a problem. The fumes may have numbed my perception of pain though.
  11. Bigger wastegate and piping, I don't think porting is going to get you far already having an external wastegate.
  12. Well, it does have M3 bumpers and a M3 tail fin on it..
  13. I do not thank you for posting a link to the WIMP website. I just spent 2 hours going through the videos.. and I will go to work for 12 hours tomorrow super tired.
  14. It says it's a registered NFA on the video title. Anyway, all the government wants is to collect that $200 dollar tax.
  15. Looks great! I like it without the front bumper.
  16. I took the newest 260Z to get blasted. So I'm still stripping paint off the doors/hatch, and painting parts that I'm getting back from the blaster. Taking paint off by hand is harder than I thought.

  18. I'd get your money back. Any part like that should be covered in oil when you receive it.
  19. ooo OOo.. pick me.. pick me.... o wait, this is not the same car.. http://www.viczcar.com/Featured-Rides/Mark-Rolston-s-RB26DETT-Powered-240z.html http://www.superstreetonline.com/featuredvehicles/130_0706_1971_datsun_240_z/index.html http://www.portalnissan.com/index.php?ind=news&op=news_show_single&ide=324
