  1. No fail here, everything is fine on my end. Just type it into the browser lazy!!!
  2. Heading to Auto Zone now. Thanks Moby. I'll post results once I get back out to the car [probably not until tomorrow night]
  3. *sigh* FINE. http://dcerutti.smugmug.com/photos/620882493_aZhSV-XL.jpg http://dcerutti.smugmug.com/photos/620881914_P79nF-XL.jpg http://dcerutti.smugmug.com/photos/620882211_WDhPy-XL.jpg Sorry if I wasn't supposed to do that Dave.
  4. :slaps forehead: I sold my turbo coil ignitor with the 83 ZXT harness I had. Thanks for posting Moby. Do you think HEI will make this setup work? At this point I'm looking at ditching this board and building one from scratch. I got this particular board second hand. If you think the HEI will work, then I'm definitely down to try it. The car was so close to being back on the road, I hope it's something easy I can take care of.
  5. Okay I thought there was a joke here and I was retarded and missing the point... then when I dragged the mouse over the link... voila! I manually typed the URLs in and now the links work. What's going on? I'm confused
  6. I have 225s on my 15x8 RBs, I had to use a 1/4" spacer to get my fronts not to rub but the back tires don't have any issues. I'm considering throwing some 245s on the back. The 15x8 RBs have a +4 offset IIRC, do you know the offset on yours? you might be okay just to use a small spacer. I had to swap the front studs out, but I'm sure you're quite capable of that task Back on topic: Well I hope all of that works out for you.
  7. Did it look something like 205/50/R14? Do you have a 14" wheel? http://www.hogantire.com/tctiresize.htm
  8. Is that a serious question? I just realized what "R14" he was looking at hahaha
  9. So I did the datalog upload wrong somehow, oops. I'll go re-upload when I get back home as it's on my laptop. I swear to you, it was running Chris heard it on the phone Anyone out there know much about tracking down a problem with the ignition circuit?
  10. Honestly you'd find more information if you go to the Z31 performance forums. They have loads and loads of information there, specific to the questions you're asking. I have a Z31 Turbo [i don't know too many people on here that do] and I still don't know that much about the VG30ET enough to tell you proper information. Go find the experts!! Are you going turbo with this or what? JW
  11. Why wouldn't they use a kouki front end? haha. They chose the worst year for Z31 bumpers. Front end of S30 - Very sexy. Front end of Z31 [especially zenki] - Eh... not so much.
  12. Really glad to hear that Austin, like all the others are saying - you deserve it!
  13. Fail, fail, fail and some more fail. Got the car started, ran for a good 30 seconds or so a couple of times. Went back to wrap up some things I needed to do on the car and no spark again. I'm guessing the coil driver has gone dead. The coil will barely spark, I had to hold it almost touching the coil wire to the strut bolt for it to spark at all. Any advice on what I should do now? Since the board was running at one point I don't think it will help for me to send it to someone to test on their car, I just have no clue what to do. Here is it running earlier today before it took a dump. datalog200908151717.rar
  14. Alright - That must have been the problem. When Chris and I were going through the VB921 circuit we installed that jumper without reading that it was if you were NOT firing directly off the coil. The car will almost idle, I need to work on the VE table now. It ran about 30 seconds one time. I got it up to about 3000 RPM and then blew the SS line off the distro block. heh I'm about to get on a boat an go wakeboard for an hour or so, then hopefully Chris will meet me up at the shop after a while and we can get the car road worthy. I took a datalog, I'll post it up when I get back to the house tonight. Special thanks to Big-Phil and his videos for confirmation on my screw up
  15. Not at all haha. A little bit of an update and a pitiful plea for help: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=152353 Also, Chris noticed that when I hit the throttle my O2 reading would change. I don't have a wideband connected right now, and the car was off, why would that happen? There are many clues that point to a board issue.
  16. AWESOME. Yeah I just want you to hook it up and see what it does. I've been messing with it for so long I almost hope the board is bad because I'm running out of ideas. If you don't mind what are the specifics of your setup?
  17. Well I've done about all I can at this point, I've swapped the dizzy internals from the 83 ZXT CAS to a 87 Z31 Turbo CAS, tested the coil on another stock L28ET S130, and checked the board many times. TrumpetRhapsody has MSII on his L28ET Holset 260 but he is running EDIS and it won't work without board mods which I don't want to do at this point. He was looking at the datalog of us trying to start it and the injectors weren't doing anything funky, I changed the spark plugs again, nothing is really getting us anywhere. The engine will fire over but not idle. I set the dizzy advance according to Moby's right up, all the settings have been checked and checked, rotor phasing was set twice just to make sure. I am pretty certain there is a problem with the board and I have no way to test it for sure. I have a stim board and it is working fine with it, but my car will not start. I bought X64's VR dizzy and coil setup but I think that will do the same thing as when I swapped the dizzy internals. I'm really lost here. So, what I would really like to happen would be to ship my ECU to some kind individual who would throw the ECU on their car, burn their maps and such and see if the car will run with my ECU. I will pay for shipping both ways. Would someone care to help out another S30 owner who just wants more boost? School starts in one week and I don't have any more time to mess around with this without definitely getting some results. Motor/Car: I have a Flat Top F54/P79 with a KA24 TB, 83 L28ET CAS Dizzy with 87 Z31 Turbo CAS internals, Accell Super Stack coil, Garrett T3 off a 83 L28ET, stock J Pipe. Just picked up a LC-1 from 260zturbo last weekend but I haven't put it on yet. Megasquirt: MSI V3.0 with Extra Code, Relay board, GM CLT and IAT sensors, running 029y4 code. Jumpered for the 83 L28ET Dizzy. Thanks guys I really appreciate the help.
  18. Haha I don't think anyone who is swapping out a clutch themselves is going to mistake which side of the flywheel goes on the clutch side.
  19. There are at least 10 stickies in the MegaSquirt section, including one labeled "For begginers look here first" or something like that. There is plenty of information just in the stickies alone, go check it out.
  20. On automatic cars there is a round plate on the back of the crank - did you take it off or leave it on? IIRC It looked to be about 1/4" thick. The idea popped into my head earlier but I didn't want to suggest pulling the tranny without a good reason to.
  21. You can take the starters to AutoZone and test them to see if they are actually engaging. It's unlikely that two went bad but it will rule out the starters being the issue.
  22. Well if he is talking about the pop off valve [i think so?] It is that round metal thing on top of the manifold that is the farthest to the firewall, right before the metal line for the brake booster. [Not the EGR which is to the left of the brake booster line]
  23. I remembered this thread last night when talking to a local friend who has a Z31 because I need to do this as well. I asked him how to remove that bracket, and he said the easiest way is to take the inlet boot to the turbo off. [You might have an N/A car though - I see you wrote VG30E] Anyways, if the compressor is already off just take your hand and run it down the middle of that bracket, you will feel two bolts at the very bottom on the inside of the bracket. It looks like a pain in the arse, but as soon as the S30 gets back up I'll be taking the Z31 down for a weekend for maintenance. And plan on ditching that bracket when I put my MBC on. Good luck!
  24. Heh. Did you get it out?? It's only 4 bolts on the S30... Can't remember on the S130.
