  1. Looks great! good to see another Z rockin' small rims [Mine are 15s]
  2. Heads up - I see tons of Z cars on the OKC craigslist, you might want to check there to find a decent S30. Good luck!
  3. If your fuel filter was 'gunked up' you might need a new gas tank...
  4. can't hurt to check the starter and its a fairly quick swap if you need to do it.
  5. I thought you got a whole new kit, any reason that you're not replacing all of them?
  6. Looks like you're making some good progress! Where did you get your new head bolts from?
  7. Well it looks good in some shades, but I'm not a huge fan. Just dont use this shade please: The Ultimate banana
  8. How about a VH powered 240? If they were mine I would make the S30 a track car with turbo pep for the straights [and do it first, it seems like its alread pretty far along?] and make the Z32 a V8 sleeper car later.
  9. Ive done the 60mm swap and I'm using the stock AFM/ECU. I originally didnt have to do anything, but since then I have toyed with my AFM because I have 3 of them in my parts bin.
  10. Haha I bought a "turbo" ECU from this guy that turned out to be a 1980 N/A computer. I actually got a Paypal refund after months of emails... Good luck, it may happen!
  11. Well sounds like things are a bit better for your Z situation, I'd PM that guy who said he had a motor. The car I'm running in my Z was pulled out of a car locally You said your Mom hit the car every time she walks past it - please whatever you do if you have to get rid of it don't send it to the junkyard. It looks so clean. good luck!
  12. Hmm.. How old are you? Just wondering. I have a friend trying to do the "live at home while working on a car in their garage" thing and it gets ugly. I had some 'motor issues' late this summer and had to swap the motor in my 280 while going to University, so I can see where you are coming from. It took me a few months. California 'seems' to be heaven for Z parts though, shouldnt be too hard to find another L28. Good luck!
  13. I can't resist... I've had the joy over the past year of not having a care in the world in terms of my 280's body. I learned fairly soon that the body was not worth the money saving, so I'm just waiting to put all of my parts into a clean shell one day. Rust in the doglegs? Fenders? Some aluminum flashing will take care of that... Id agree with the fact that its more out of neccesity to keep my car in a rat rod condition. Id rather spend money on performance parts than paint.
  14. This is my new favourite project and its giving me ideas for the S30... Keep up the good work!
  15. Sounds like my car did when my fuel pump was going out, it wouldnt accelerate at all unless very little throttle was applied, but sounded fine over 2500-3000 or so. I would suggest getting a pressure gauge and check that first.
  16. haha Also if you are hoping to go fast, a stock turbo AT zx probably wont satisfy you, in my experience Zs are more suited to go around corners...
  17. Yes... the EFI Bible is good. Test the wires that are going to the pump first, then work your way back from there. Disconnect the starter when you are checking this...
  18. sounds fun, good luck! [i love the old school air dam on the red car, nice find]
  19. I've had no problems in Lousiana or Arkansas...
  20. mad props for you guys up north riding in the cold... are you guys just wearing full wet suits? All Ive got is a 2mm upper so the season ends in October for me I dont know what year 210 you have but the 206s were so much easier to drive... the 210 just plowed through the water haha
  21. You need to buy one of these that is specific to your car http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1979-DATSUN-280ZX-FACTORY-SERVICE-MANUAL-Z-CAR-280-ZX_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1205Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem380080877025QQitemZ380080877025QQptZMotorsQ5fManualsQ5fLiterature Then read it and memorize it. It has a wealth of information [including mentioning that head bolts are torque-to-yeild]. Good luck!
