  1. Here's one I feel would be unique. I learned the hard way that the billet aluminum firewall adjusters for 5.0 Mustangs are not supposed to be used with the factory, non-adjustable clutch cable. The minimum setting on the firewall adjuster is still too tight for the stock cable so it wore out my clutch fork from being too tight (the clutch chatter sounds like a worn throwout bearing, but it had the same chatter when I got the car and the previous owner had a habit of keeping his/her foot on the clutch pedal which worn down the clutch fork that I had to replace) I'm still driving it like that, adjusting the cable every now and then to make up for it and afraid that one day I'm gonna push down on the clutch pedal and there's no more fork metal behind the bearing to put in the pressure plate. I need to buy a fork and adjustable cable and see if the drivetrain class at school could put it in for me...but I'm afraid the teckers may actually mess something else up worse. I don't like other people touching my cars anymore.
  2. Looking at the pictures of the inside of the transmission, couldn't you just take out the final drive that goes to the front wheels? It's not like its an integral part of working the tranmission. I would just take it out so it would be less wieght, rotating weight as a matter of fact. I've thought about putting a WRX engine in my car here and there, but I want to stay Nissan. At least for now, if I come across one for cheap I would do it.
  3. That was the best thing I've seen for a long time. I respect how he put up with everyone making fun of him, I can see a lot of guys leaving and never coming back if that happened to them.
  4. "H" versus "A" doesn't matter if modified for an upper link or control arm. It only matters if you're just keeping the strut type suspension, right? I'm working on either a double A-arm design or a multi-link, I was working on a few drawings but just ordered Chassis Engineering and Race and Rally Car Sourcebook to read so I can get a further understanding and make better designs. What about the idea of using aluminum for the arms? I figure for a street car it would be a good idea for reduced weight but for a race car it wouldn't be able to handle the stress. Would aluminum tubing be alright for the manufacture, should solid rods be used instead, or does it have to be billet instead of welded together? The AZC ones are billet aluminum arent they?
  5. Where can I get that body kit for my Z? How hard is it to put on? It must make a lot of downforce, I would never have to worry about getting airborn when going up a hill at 250mph ever again.
  6. I cant see the photos too well, could you put up bigger ones?
  7. There seems to be a lot of audio related threads in the interior forum here, really worth a look.
  8. Well I got my 30 year old car because it is smoother and quieter than my Mustang with worn bushings and mounts all the way around and half the exhaust missing, lol. Also the Z was my dream car ever since I ever saw it and I wish it was driving and here with me now...even when it doesnt run I still love to sit inside it and stare at it. I think I may have an unhealthy obsession with Zs.
  9. That car is like mint, I love it. I wish my interior looked that great. As for speakers, I don't know anything about audio systems except that long road trips suck without music. I was thinking for my Z to just put 2 speakers in the compartments behind the seats so that they're closer to the occupants, be less wire (less weight) and less weight on the outside of the axles. Yes, my reasoning is based on weight alone. If I didn't learn how much a DD sucks without a radio by ripping the entire system out of my Mustang I would have just ripped it out of the Z too...but I miss music
  10. I this it should be mentioned that these are solid mounts so some kid doesn't see this and say "I want to do that" and then complains about the vibrations being too terrible and he doesn't like drive the car anymore. I have heard that some guy had engine plates make for his car but had rubber isolaters mounted between the plate and chassis so it got rid of the vibrations but kept the racey look, but that was for a show car and I rather just use regular mounts. If I had a race car I would do it.
  11. Which has happened to me. I actually burned out the hard drive that came with my laptop and I had to make the CDs to install the new, bigger, faster one I bought. Really sucked, but now that I have them its not that bad because its just like it was with the older computers
  12. Is getting a brand new Wilwood master cylinder the only option for switching to manual brakes or is there an OEM set up from another car, or if mom'sZ was correct about other Z cars having them, what would they be?
  13. My laptop didn't come with a Windows Disk, when I first turned it on the day I bought it, it immediately asked me to make the PC Recovery Disks.
  14. I think you're refering to reformatting your computer. For my computer I follow these steps: Go to the Start menu All Programs System Recovery If you haven't already, hit the PC Recovery Disk Creator and that took up 12 CDs for my computer From there you hit PC Recovery and follow the steps it shows. This COMPLETELY gets rid of all your files so saving all your pics, songs, and ect. to something else before hand is a good idea. It puts it back to factory settings so everytime I did it I had to uninstall all the useless crap that mine came with like the 30-day free trial games and movie creator programs
  15. How about other forms of entertainment? My favorite band is King Diamond but the only people that even know who he is are my brother (who's like 35 now I think) and one of my classmates that graduated who was 40 years old. I'm 19 and people 25, 30 years old give me that "who the heck you talking about" look when I tell them. lol. In high school, nobody else knew who Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Overkill, or anybody like that were. That made me feel old
  16. I haven't smoke anything in ages, my sober mind is just terrible. When I'm sober I actually...well...I think, lol.
  17. Well, at least I'm thinking outside the box. With my luck I would put it on my car and when I hit 88 MPH I'll see a flash of light, then see a troop of Roman soldiers and say "Jesus Christ!!!" then a man with a brown beard with place his hand on my shoulder and say "You called?"
  18. I searched "260Z Ignition Box" and "Ignition Box" and didn't find anything. If there is a thread already please post the link and I'll happily read it
  19. I may have been born and raised in Arkansas but I was developed through the blood of Chicagoians....though I hate visiting Chi-town. Being around all those chicken farmers in Arkansas may have contaminated me, I've been eating nothing but chicken for the last week or so and still craving more chicken, lol. I actually used that turbo for a homework assignment today, my computer-nerd friend got a big kick out of it.
  20. I like that Dutch Weave one on the top, but dont know how much air will go through that, lol
  21. "There's that word again; "heavy". Why are things so heavy in the future? Is there a problem with the earth's gravitational pull?"-Emmett Brown
  22. I think it would look great in black, just my 1.25 cents
  23. Wow, I never realized how much wider the Corvette is over the Z until now. How much wider is it?
