  2. HARUMPH, HARUMPH. Let me quote myself from a previous post!!!!!!
  3. Houston, not sure if this is going to answer your question but it sounds like there is a little confusion in the terminologies being used. A turbo has 2 outlets, one on the exhaust side (also refered to as the turbine side or the hot side). This outlet goes into a downppe which is then connected to the exhaust system. The other outlet is from the compressor and it goes to the engine and on a t3/t04 that outlet is usually 2" in diameter. In essence you could call that an exhaust but the word exhaust in the automotive world usually refers to the exhaust system. Typically, if you are running a t3/t04 turbo, anything 2" in size on the exhaust side will be a restriction when you start turning up the boost. Any compressor that has a 3" outlet is one big MUTHA! HTH,
  4. Yatsen, that is one opinion. There are numerous LT1 and LS1 swaps on this forum specific to the Z car so if you want to go that route there is no guessing game or shortage of information or help. Do a search in the V8 forum for LT1 and LS1 and Th200R4 in the drivetrain section and you will be reading for a week.
  5. IMHO, I would not waste time and $$$ with this engine. Do not get caught up in the hype that it came out of a Vette as this is a classic case of not all V-8s being born equal. Now, it depends on what your HP and performance goals are and if this engine with some minor low-buck tweaks will do it for you, then you are better off with a mild L28ET. If you want lots more, then the $$$ you will spend is best spent on finding an LT1 or LS1 bargain.
  6. I am running a 280ZX 2+2 booster and m/c combo in my '71 with C4 12" front brakes and 11.4" rears and I like it. It might feel a little over-boosted to some but I do not like a rock-hard brake pedal. I believe the 280Z 2+2 booster is slightly smaller and might not feel as boosted.
  7. The Walbro outlet fitting uses a metric thread so make sure you order it from the supplier you are buying the pump from. Specifically what fitting you get depends on whether you need AN or barbed and what size. I strongly recommend 10-gauge directly off the battery (both pos and neg) through a relay and use the original wire to trigger the relay. I put my relay in the storage bin behind the passenger seat.
  8. I actually ran 26x9.5-16 on 16x8s and it is not unusual to see these tires run at 12psi or less. With a 15" you have even more sidewall so the sidewall will wrinkle more and really lay down a big contact patch. Do not know what your car weighs but if I guess 2,750 w/driver, the car is capable of running 11.80 @ 119. Less weight will be quicker, etc., but do not expect to get there 1st time out. This of course assumes a good burnout and strong launch, say a 1.70 or better. Hope you have a strong clutch! BTW, I just upgraded to 27x11.5-15 QTPs on 15x8 Welds but did not get a chance to really test them at Reynolds because of the lazy spoolup and "slow" launch. Good luck.
  9. I ran them with 14psi. Be aware that they are bias-ply and usually bias-ply rears and radials fronts are not a good mix. I used to have the car drifting side-to-side on me on the top-end until I went to bias-ply fronts. Of course I am talking about at 120+mph but just be prepared. If it happens do not make any sudden moves like trying to overcorrect or slamming on the brakes. Just ease out of the throttle. My local track gets a lot of sand on the track and I am sure that made it feel worse for me.
  10. There was an E55 AMG at the track last week and it went 12.5 @ 117.
  11. They are as thorough in their written response as they are verbally.
  12. Thats what I am using. ARP and only $7.95 for 5.
  13. Although I appreciate what Nissan has done with the 350Z, I was not a big fan until yesterday. Some of you know or might remember Tyler, my buddy that was at Montgomery. Well, he just bought a 350Z convertible and after a close-up inspection and a quick blast through some back roads, I am impressed to say the least. The car is absoltuely gorgeous and you can get get a close-up as he will be bringing it to Reynolds this weekend.

  15. So, when is this monster going to turn a wheel in anger?
  16. 24mph gain in the 2nd half is nothing to sneeze at. That is a strong indication of serious HP. Corrected for sea-level, it is about 12.23 @ 116.1. Get that 60' down to 1.80 and you have an 11.90 car at sea-level.
  17. ARP studs are typically around the same price or less. Call ARP and get the part number for the Z then order them from Summit.
  18. The correct designation is TH200-4R, but you are correct, it is referred in several ways, usually not correctly
  19. Brad, to follow up on what Mat posted, read this: http://www.modernmusclecar.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=914
  20. Track rained out. He just left my house about 15 mins ago. 10psi got my attention after a little tuning.
