  1. Yeah I am pretty sure about the 400HP(@ the flywheel). It should be close to 400HP. I know I have the slight restriction with my 2.5 exhaust at the last 1/4 of it but I dont "think"(maybe it will?) it will make a huge(like 50HP) difference. It doesnt seem to be bogging down at high RPMS or anything? Guy

  3. Ok I have my car running again! The "ticking" noise is gone and now all I have to do is pull the drivers side exhaust manifold and "trim it a little bit". Its rubbing on my steering gear box when I make right hand turns. Then I have to pull the passenger side exhaust manifold to put in my new exhaust gasket. The one I have on there now is in bad shape. I got a new intake gasket set, new oil pan gasket and 2 exhaust gaskets for my LT1 for $73.00 from GM! Yeah working at a dealer sure does pay off sometimes I'd be that list on all those would be about $175! All I know is there sure is a mark up for "customers" Anyways back out to the garage! Im driving tommorow damn it! 8) Guy

  5. So my buddy just bought a 1987 Yamah Fazer 700. Its kinda like a sports bike/1st gen crotch rocket I guess? More of a sports bike though. Anyways in say a 1.5-2 mile straight away race who do you think would win? The 400HP+ LT1 280ZX or the 700cc Fazer? Im not sure how much HP that Fazer has but Im sure its under 100HP or right at 100HP. Im thinking he will get me off the start but I think I can catch him with in 2 miles. He claims that it can do about 140mph? What do you guess think? Guy
  6. Ok well I cant get the lifter that I took the spring clip out of back in, the lifter wont compress? Guy
  7. I thought that(fogging) was to "bleed" the air out of the system, or is that basically the same thing as what you guys are saying? How can nitrous get "old"? Guy
  8. Well I took one apart but there isnt a spring in it? Or am I missing something? Guy
  9. No dont open the high side when the car is running! You'll blow out the gauges! Its ok to open the high and low side when the car is not running but it is deffinetly not ok to do so when the car is running. There really isnt a point to open the high side anyways, atleast when I am charging up systems at work or repairing an AC system I dont ever open the high side. Guy
  10. Ok well I have my drivers side lifters out, so what do I look for to show signs of failure? Can I pull them apart to look for debre in the lifter? Also how can I be sure that my cam is ok? Oh yeah and when I took 3 of the lifters out the rocker arms for them didnt loosen up like the other 5 did. The other five rocker arms loosened right up with 3/4 turn, but the other 3 seemed like they had "spring pressure" on them till they were almost off. Does that mean anything? Guy

  12. Not a big Ford fan over here but that 390HP super charged engine sure is tempting isnt! I agree with the guys on this one though. You wont have any of the pride that goes along with knowing that you built the car. I know I could have had a used LS1 Camaro with the money that Ive spent on my ZX LT1 conversion but it wouldnt be as fast and it wouldnt be one of kind. Yeah I could have bought an LS1 camaro and put a super charger on it and yeah it would haul som serious a$$ but I would still know that any joe-smow could build the same exact thing and be just as fast. I guess I really like the fact that no one knows what I have under the hood and seeing the look on peoples face when I blow the doors off their "fast car" Guy

  14. WOW THOSE ARE NICE!!!!!!!!!! How did you weld them?(TIG, MIG, Stick<yeah right!, Oxyacetalean(sp?)) You want to come over and make a set for my LT1 280ZX? LOL I am really tempted to make a set but I cant see stick welding those and thats all I have as far as a welder is concerned. If I could tack them in place I could have my step dad take them to work(hes and aircraft inspector for Air Wisconsin/United) and he could have one of his buddies TIG weld them up for me. How much did it cost to make those? Guy
  15. Basically its just a FWD type transmission/differental.......(trans/axle) get it?

  17. Well actually I have the old set of lifters that were in the engine before the rebuild so I think I will just put those in and see if the problem goes away. I havent pulled the lifters out yet to inspect them but Im going to tommorow. Guy
  18. Well Im not 100% sure what a collapse hydraulic roller lifter looks like but 3 of my lifters seem to look different than the rest? So how can I tell which lifters are bad? And will it hurt my cam if I replace all my lifters? Guy
  19. Yeah so I "tried" to drive my car to work this morning....and I got about 1/2 mile down the road and that ticking got really loud! I am almost 100% sure its the lifters. I am going to pull the intake this weekend and see whats up. The noise almost sounded like a knocking. What could be knocking inside there(under the intake)? I guess I will see when I pull the intake. Man this sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guy

    There is no way that your car will be able to be done for $4500 with a complete RB26DETT with the installation. Unless you are doing the work yourself and you get a good deal on ALL your parts. Guy

    What kind of ignition system do you have? If its stock your ignition is probably not able to keep up with the higher RPMS? Guy
