  1. I might be changing jobs due to the fact that my current employeer is screwing with my paychecks/hours. Basically rather than paying me booked hours(I'm flat rate) he will pay me most of my booked hours and then "bank" the rest incase I have a slow week(less than 80 hours for 2 weeks). Not to mention my new service writer is a complete moron who can't call customers back to get oks for work or upsell crap! I absolutly love the other techs that I work with, well about 80% of them anyway but I need to make money too and I dont feel like Im being treated with the respect that I deserve and have earned. I am one of the highest producing techs in the shop with a very low "comeback" rate. I dont dick around like some of the other guys do. I dont do tranny work yet but I am starting to with some help from the older techs who do trannys. Basically I think I should be making more like $16-17 per hour rather than the $13.50 Im getting paid. I pick up the slack on my team because 2 of the guys on my team are not flat rate and really dont think that they should have to do more than say 30-35 hours per week were as Im booking 40-50 hours per week. The one guy is absolutly crazy in every sense and really shouldnt be fixing cars and the other guy is just plane a "stroker"(basically if a job pays 2.0 hours it will take him atleast 2.0 hours if not more even though I know he could do it in less time). He just doesnt care because he knows his check will have his guaranteed 45 hours on it and hes happy with that. Now my old service writer left about a month ago and is working at a Mazda/Hyundai/Mistubishi dealership. He's the Mazda service writer. My old service manager also works there and is now the general manager of service for the 6 car lines(Nissan, Audi, and VW are also part of this dealership but are in different buildings) and he also wants me to come over there. I just visited the dealership today and was told that I would be working on Mazda and Hyundai. I have never really liked working on Imports just because of the crappy wiring diagrams(IMHO). I havent had very good luck with Mitsubishi stuff but I wouldnt be working on them much if at all. I guess what Im looking for is some info on what does warrenty pay, what kind of tech support is there, hows the training programs do they have, and whats the typical pay for a guy with 3 years of experiece, 4 ASE's(other 4 in spring), and good productivity? Thanks, Guy
  2. What engine do you have in it? If its the 3.8L, they are notorious for blowing head gaskets and melting heads if you dont fix it right away. If its hot enough to melt a head its hot enought to turn a cat. converter red! Guy
  3. Great now Im going to have to rip the motor back out and strip that bedliner off because everyone likes the color so much! LOL. I really do wish I had left it alone..... Oh well atleast the rest of the car will look good! Guy

I like this statement off your site.... Nice work so far! Guy
  5. Glad to hear everything turned out good! Especially after all you had to go through! Guy
  6. Wow what really amazing is to think that all those cars were in "my back yard" so to speak! It really sucks for that second guy in that story(if he's not BS'ing). I hate when things like that happen to people because they are just trying to be nice and let the family sort everything out before making any decisions. Oh well I guess next time he should be a little more persistant! That other guy should make his money back in no time though just with a few of those cars! Guy
  7. I also used the carpet kit from MSA. It fits really nice but yeah I had to cut a few areas like the hatch release handle. Not really a big deal IMHO. Guy
  8. Man the most impressive thing on that dyno sheet is the A/F ratio! Talk about a good tune! Nice numbers and great video! Guy
  9. The wire protectors will not work if they are in direct contact with the headers. I have them on my LT1 and it still melted the wires when they were in contact with the header. I now have a different header so it doesnt make direct contact with them so its not an issue any more(this was before I made my drivers side header and switched my passenger side to a regular block hugger type header). Guy
  10. Shhhhhhhhh, were trying to keep it a secret! LOL It really is amazing what a body kit can do for the the 280ZX's. I wish there was more of a selection for airdams in the USA. Seems like all the really nice looking airdams are overseas and not avabliable to us guys in the USA. I like the MSA one but I've seen better. Guy
  11. Nice video! I too liked all the detail you gave! Guy
  12. Are you sure you have the correct harness for your 92 LT1. The 94+ have a different IAC sensor and if you dont wire it right it will idle just like your saying. I know you have a painless harness but you said you have all new sensors. I would check your IAC wiring from the connector to the PCM and make sure your wires are where they are supposed to be for that IAC. I had to switch wires on my IAC because I am using a 93 LT1 with a 95' PCM/Harness and the wiring isnt the same. My car idled just like yours before I figured out what the problem was. There was nothing that I could do to get my idle below 1100 RPMS before I fixed the wiring. Guy
  13. Lets get serious, not everyone loves Z cars. Who cares? I hate Hondas and Fords! Now if they used a picture of your car I could see you getting pissed off but he's just trying to get as much advertising as possible by using all those car makes in his description. Guy
  14. I am coming very close to "finishing" my car too. I have just started the body work recently and it will get paint this spring. I dont really know if it will be "finished" though? I am always finding something new to do or that I would like to do to it! I dont think cars like ours are ever really finished, the guys who restore cars finish them......Hybridz guys never really finish cars! Ours are like 95% done with the other 5% for future upgrades! Nice car by the way! Guy
  15. Your car is one that I never get sick of seeing new pictures of! Keep up the awesome work! Guy
  16. Deffinetly a nice machine! Whats the reason for selling it? Guy
  17. Hehe, I did the same thing sort of... my ground was my Lokar SS throttle cable! Yeah I noticed the same results after installing 2 big ground wires from the block to the body! All I know is that throttle cable sure got hot! LOL Guy
  18. :rockon:HOLY FRIGGIN CRAP! Im thinking he probably won the contests for best Christmas lights......... just a guess! Guy
  19. Wow I bought my kit off ebay(new) for $400 with shipping and I thought I got a good deal! Nice find! Im sure other guys will appreciate the info! Guy
  20. Explain to me how this is related to CHEVY V8 swaps............... Guy
  21. How much negative camber are you running in the rear!? Guy
  22. Well it wont take much to beat a 12 second mustang in a 2500lbs car! Gotta love power to weight ratios! Guy
  23. I used www.alldatadiy.com to wire up my LT1 when I switched from the speed density to the MAF system this summer. I personally found it very easy to use. It spilts up all the different system into easy to read diagrams. So you get a wiring diagram for Fuel, Ignition, Sensors, Emissions, Tranny, and etc... Makes it much easier to modify a harness when you only have to look at the stuff you need to. Guy
