  1. LS1, LS2, LS3, LS7 or LS9, you pick!!!
  2. Exactly, getting an angle grinder in there was tight so it took a little longer than it should of, my air cutting tool took a dump on me when needed the most...imagine that...LOL Just started playing with the other side (driver), going to be tight!
  3. Congratulations on getting into the 6's on motor, especially a bone stock LS2!!! Can't wait to get my heap running!
  4. Blake on my 240 the primary tube hit (barely)the motor mount and head of corner bolt. I only took enough off to clear it plus a little play, was not a real biggie, would have gone quicker but I didn't want to butcher anything. Thanks, they are really nice pieces for sure, well worth the cost! John at PSI was very helpful, thanks for the hook up! Mike
  5. Got my headers from Blake yesterday. Took me 1.5 hrs to get the passengers side in, mainly clearancing the motor mount and bolt head as mention early in thread also cut some of the lip off the TC mount. I am sure the drivers side will be a pain in the butt but what the hell. PSI sent out the custom harness, should be here by Wednesday. Transmission is back out for a look see and shift kit. Things are coming together fast. Also picked up an Autometer electronic speedo, waiting on it to install and put dash back in.
  6. You will have to learn to peddle it often with all that instant torque.
  7. Congratulation on the win, sounds like a good, fun day!
  8. Find out what the true compression is first. Secondly I would stud the heads and run cometic head gaskets if you are sure you are going to be running a boosted application. 400 sbc are a good platform, the bottom end should be good for 500 in stock form. If you are going to be looking for more power I'd get a low compression, forged rotating assembly and stud the mains with a girdle as well. Good luck!
  9. Spoke to Blake and ordered a set, supposed to be built and shipped by next Thursday. I will be doing some modifying to them as I am running a 4L80E transmission but just like some said that a 4L80E wouldn't fit in a 240Z...not! I cut the ears of the case and hammered the drivers side where the plug goes into the transmission and presto she fit easily. My buddy made hard lines for her and she is in with trans cooler. Got to pull her out and put the flex plate and 9" Edge 3600 stall converter in and I should be ready for the harness next. Going to call PSI and order a harness next week. Hope to have her ready in 4 weeks, fingers crossed!!!
  10. The best of luck too you, keep us posted. Even if they are strict you should be able to get one or two passes in before they tell you to slow down or go home, be safe! Mike
  11. Hope to run mid to low 10's on motor and mid to low 9's on a 150 (wet) shot!
  12. Sounds like your motor is pretty healthy still, 11.00's is no joke for bone stock. Stay away from the burgers and hit up the exlax and your good to go 10.9X's...LOL Good luck and keep us posted on the times you run. I cannot wait to see how my heap will run one day. So are the junk yard plugs the ac delco iridiums, that's what was in mine. My L76 is a LKQ pull out with less that 60K on her, I just tore her down to the short block, checked bearings, slapped her back together with a slight port job on the exhaust side of the LS3 heads, deleted the dod and added a cam, lifters, pushrods and valve springs. Thinking of buying a set of the group buy long tubes and making them work! Good Luck, Mike
  13. I emailed you regarding a set, deciding weather to have you ship them or drive 6 hours to pick them up in person...decisions, decisions. Mike
  14. Are you running a stock LS2, have you done anything to it? Mike
  15. The best of luck too you, any goals for the 1/4 mile, Have you ever taken her to the track before?
  16. Thanks for the input, idea's and pictures. I looked at the JTR kit/accessories, they have everything I have already but would have made it cheaper and easier with one stop shopping...live and learn I guess. Mike
  17. What are you all using for cold air set ups? My L76 has a GM Delco drive by wire throttle body with a 4" opening. I have collected 3 4" 90 degree elbows and some alumized 4" tubing. I noticed the mass air sensor is a 4" by 3 5/8" housing so I will have to neck it down in one area. Are you guys cutting out a larger hole in the radiator support and running the air cleaner out and turning 90 degree's or leaving the "cone" air cleaner in the engine bay. Also have you noticed any difference in the shorter cones vs longer ones, do the short ones choke the motor. My set up is cam and long tubes with 150 wet shot for now. I have several idea's but thought I would ask the folks who have been there and done that first before going crazy/overboard. Thanks Mike
  18. Long time no see! I do not know if you remember us DFW Z owners meeting at The Motorplex for some 1/4 mile passes many years ago. I had the Purple Turd with a sbc in it. I am putting a 6 liter in mine know, got to get up to date with technology...fuel injection...LOL. Hope all is well in your world. Mike...aka Zfan.
  19. I did run a set of hooker long tubes (1 5/8" x 2 1/2") in my car with a 385 sbc/700R4combo, that is what I pulled out to upgrade to this LSX set up. I cut the ears off my 4L80E trans case and it fit with no problems, just clearanced for the plug on the drivers side.
  20. Not fast enough LOL. I have the motor and transmission in, fuel system and cooling as well now I have to figure out headers. Spoke to the guy who made headers for the group buy, I can make then work with my auto I think but he now wants 950 a set, must think I am desperate! I have thought about going with a fender well type full length header that have 1 7/8 primaries. I am completely rewiring the Z so it will be a big pain in my A-- but worth it I think. Mike
  21. GM 823 castings 260CC intake runner 70CC chambers 2.165 intake valve 1.59 Exhaust valve Advertised flow rate is 320-330 cfm at .0600 lift. That is all I could come up with, hope it helps!
