  1. Vinyl for door panels, or for the rear pieces in the hatch, or all of it?
  2. after copying, hold the ctrl button down and press v, the keyboard shortcut for paste works.

  4. Not around here. I drove to Denton, Texas to get mine.
  5. Me too. There are a few around here. There's one that's been sitting at that mechanic shop on 59 by 1088 for about 5-7 years now. I asked te guy when it first got there if he wanted to sell it and he said no, he's going to restore it, and it was a 280 which wAs the good one to restore, not a 240. Since then 3 people I know asked him and he said no. It's been awhile so maybe he will change his mind. It looked good when I looked at it several years ago but it's been sitting outside, so who knows now.
  6. Now you're making it complicated.
  7. what part of La are you in?
  8. Sprayed the flex tex on. Not too bad. Have a couple little spots I missed to touch up then to paint it.
  9. Ive done that before too but it doesnt work if the hole is much bigger than the harness. A lot of air will come thru the gap.
  10. Unless its an old British car, then backwards is actually forwards.
  11. Yeah probably won't work too much this weekend but will be there next one.
  12. Yeah I figured with how much work I put in the car so far, I had to at least attempt to do it right. If it doesn't work out I can always slap a toupee on it later.
  13. I've seen that. I've also seen people using truck bed stuff to fix a dashboard, bumper repair stuff to fix a dasbboard, body filler to fix a dashboard, etc. In the work I do it's imperative to use the right thing for the right job, that's why I decided to use dash repair stuff to fix a dash. I know it sounds crazy....
  14. I don't remember because I got them for my last car. All I know was it took 2 different ones. They were all from a late 70s very early 80s Mercedes. I used the rear part of the ones with the 2.5" inlet and the ball vent from the one with the larger inlets. The vents appeared to be the same except the ones from the large ones were blacker, that's why I used them. Here's the dash after a coat then a sand and a second coat of the padded dash filler. This stuff is hard to sand. I ended up using a DA very lightly on the flat areas.
  15. http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/114638-1978-280z-gto-ls1-t56-ttt/page-6?do=findComment&comment=1110058 I started using the urethane supply padded dash filler yesterday. It is really flexible. I have some pics starting on post 110. I will try to take more today.
  16. Started on restoring the cracked datsun Z dash yesterday. Got it dremeled out, filled with great stuff foam, shaped it with a hacksaw blade and put the 1st coat of the padded dash filler from urethane supply company on. I got too small of a can of it, so I may have to order another can and not be able to finish it until next weekend. Hate when that happens.
  17. My friend and I are both restoring our dashes at the same time. Since vintage air is being used we wanted to make sure we get as much airflow as possible. We combined Mercedes vents with the Datsun vents. They happen to use the same size hose as the vintage air output, so no having to make the hose smaller by the vents. In the middle picture you can see how much larger they are than the Datsun.
  18. Also is it not mounted straight? One side looks higher than the other.
  19. So it's an aftermarket grille? If so who made it.
  20. I mounted all my stuff on a piece of aluminum angle I had laying around. I drilled up into the frame in the middle and both ends and used nutserts. On the outer ends I had to put small spacers between the angle and the frame. I use the 88 ford can bracket a lot of people use to hold the pump.
