  1. I have a question for y'all. If you had the choice would you prefer to run 255 direzza2/ BFG rivals (the widest I saw in those 2 tires) or the nittos in 285-315s? The rivals are supposedly the grippiest street tire right now and the dunlops second from some tests I've seen in online magazines. Would the narrower tires perform as good, better or less good than the wider less grippy nittos?
  2. The main reason I'm looking at vintage air instead of reinstalling the stock system is if I have to get the 2 heater valves rebuilt and the new AC coil, and heater core, that ends up being $200+ more than vintage air.
  3. I know I can't handle south Louisiana heat. AC is a must!
  4. Does anyone know if the stock Z AC has dehumidified defrost?
  5. The 78 has 3 50 amp and 1 60 or 80 I think. The colors of the links designate the rating.
  6. I finally got my paypal account built up enough to get the vintage air gen II compac. I will be ordering it in the next few days probably. I think the classic air unit is better, as are their controls, but its almost double the cost. I will post back as soon as I get it in and mounted.
  7. Ditch it all and go to a maxi fuse or mini anl fuse block in its place.
  8. My friend called about them and they said they had several pairs left before the tsunami. A few weeks later he called and was ready to buy which was right after the tsunami and they said they didn't have anymore. Could be a coincidence or maybe a warehouse got destroyed.
  9. It would compliment well with a 2 piece front bumper with the middle section open, like the early 70s camaro has.
  10. Can you post a picture of the bulb holder front and back? I would like to see if they would be simple enough to switch to a stop, turn and tail bulb, like an 1157 type.
  11. I just saw that Klearz makes the dome light with clear plastic.
  12. I wish I was a man of many clamps, but those are a combination from 3 people.
  13. I ended up using the JCI supplied hose for the top hose. I cut it to install the steam vent and flipped one side. I think the part number is gates 21588. I had to cut 1 inch off the intake elbow where it goes onto the throttle body to make clearance for the hose to pass between it and my fan.
  14. I know! I would like to see how they fit a 280. I want to switch to 240 bumpers.
  15. I found these numbers while searching on here in an old post: Part numbers are as follows. Upper hose, PN 82570, crosses to Dayco 71314, Gates 21588, Goodyear 61394. Lower hose to LS1 T-stat housing, 82825, crosses to Dayco 71380, Gates 21712, and Goodyear 61457. The other half that goes to the Datsun radiator is an original for the Datsun, Gates PN 20776. The two beaded tubes I bought from hrpworld.com and have PN's Z17632 (1.375") and Z17633 (1.5"). The 22625 will probably work for your top one since your air intake goes the other way. My fan and intake get in the way of that one on mine.
  16. The champion radiator I have has the lower hose nipple going straight out, it's not a 90 degree bend like yours, so the hose I used may not work on your lower.
  17. The issue I'm having with the top hose is either they hit the Taurus fan which is fairly thick, or the intake hose is in the way. I have the steam vent tee so I'm good with combining 2 hoses but can't find 2 that will work together. I bent up a coat hanger and looked thru every hose at autozone and no luck.
  18. The 22478 radiator hose with champion radiator, Taurus fan and GTO Ls1 works on the lower hose. The 21503 won't fit anywhere on my setup. Will try top later.
  19. http://www.refinishsystems.com/product/258-56/3MPanelBondingAdhesive08115 I think it was this. The body shop across the parking lot loaned me a tube that had a little left. Its actually 2 tubes side by side. One tube is bigger than the other. It takes a special caulking gun for it. My friend said the other guy glued 2 pieces of metal together with it, let it sit for 2 days and tried to pull it apart with the frame machine. He said the metal ripped apart, the glued pieces didn't budge.
  20. Theres this guy on youtube that has a hot rod shop somewhere up in your area I think who puts a lot of videos on youtube. He had a Z in a some of his videos. Guy teaches sailors how to curse.
  21. Low rider and 4x4 from a Z work weekend a while back.
