  1. I second the ABS glue. I built a whole console out of a sheet of ABS plastic and used the ABS pipe glue I bought at the hardware store. The stuff fuses the plastic together like it was one piece.
  2. No, I ended up selling the car before I got around to putting a fuel cell in it.
  3. There was a convertible one at the barrys upullit in Theodore,Alabama about 2 weeks ago. Didn't think about looking at the brakes. I always try to get emblems off cool cars for my tool cabinet when I see them, but they were already all taken.

Places that sell kit cars also have some cool ones too.
  5. A good way is to remove your spring, mount your largest tire, put it at full compression and give yourself something like an inch around the circumference of the tire. You may not be able to copy anyones exactly because if they have adjustable rear suspension their tire may be more or less centered in the wheel well than yours. When you get the first side cut, tape a large sheet of paper over the rear fender, trace the body lines and fender opening onto it, cut it out on those lines, tape it on the other side of the car and you will have the opening in the exact same place.
  6. Is it the drum you can't get off? They tend to fuse to the hub since its dissimilar metal. Soak it in penetrating oil a lot. You may have to apply some heat too. I was able to coax it all apart with a BFH and a big punch after a lot of soaking.
  7. Last weekend and today was cleaning the interior out and priming. Next is seam sealing and lizard skin.
  8. http://www.onehotlap.com/2013/01/bfgoodrich-g-force-rival-plot-thickens.html?m=1 I've been yahooing around all morning and this was all I could find on this so far.
  9. On my last car, I went from cheap no name tires to direzzas in the same size and the difference in grip was absolutely incredible. Felt like I doubled the width of the tires. At autox it made me go from consistently being 1/3 from the bottom times to being in the middle with no other changes to the car. There is a big difference in tires. Thats why I am trying to figure out if 255 rivals would be the same as 285 nittos. If so I would be able to go with smaller flares and a slightly narrower wheel. In the dunlops and BFG 255 has about 1/2" (10mm)wider tread than 245.
  10. 17". I'm still trying to pick a wheel width and tire size. I will get the wheels to go with the tire size I choose. I'm sure I will have to flare it to get a decent size tire even though I really don't want to.
  11. I have a question for y'all. If you had the choice would you prefer to run 255 direzza2/ BFG rivals (the widest I saw in those 2 tires) or the nittos in 285-315s? The rivals are supposedly the grippiest street tire right now and the dunlops second from some tests I've seen in online magazines. Would the narrower tires perform as good, better or less good than the wider less grippy nittos?
  12. The main reason I'm looking at vintage air instead of reinstalling the stock system is if I have to get the 2 heater valves rebuilt and the new AC coil, and heater core, that ends up being $200+ more than vintage air.
  13. I know I can't handle south Louisiana heat. AC is a must!
  14. Does anyone know if the stock Z AC has dehumidified defrost?
  15. The 78 has 3 50 amp and 1 60 or 80 I think. The colors of the links designate the rating.
  16. I finally got my paypal account built up enough to get the vintage air gen II compac. I will be ordering it in the next few days probably. I think the classic air unit is better, as are their controls, but its almost double the cost. I will post back as soon as I get it in and mounted.
  17. Ditch it all and go to a maxi fuse or mini anl fuse block in its place.
  18. My friend called about them and they said they had several pairs left before the tsunami. A few weeks later he called and was ready to buy which was right after the tsunami and they said they didn't have anymore. Could be a coincidence or maybe a warehouse got destroyed.
  19. It would compliment well with a 2 piece front bumper with the middle section open, like the early 70s camaro has.
  20. Can you post a picture of the bulb holder front and back? I would like to see if they would be simple enough to switch to a stop, turn and tail bulb, like an 1157 type.
  21. I just saw that Klearz makes the dome light with clear plastic.
  22. I wish I was a man of many clamps, but those are a combination from 3 people.
  23. I ended up using the JCI supplied hose for the top hose. I cut it to install the steam vent and flipped one side. I think the part number is gates 21588. I had to cut 1 inch off the intake elbow where it goes onto the throttle body to make clearance for the hose to pass between it and my fan.
  24. I know! I would like to see how they fit a 280. I want to switch to 240 bumpers.
