  1. i know they all have it.. his car however has all the 'special padding' aswel i know this came for the tread you started, but it was easy linking it from hybridz site..Thanks for the green markers it pointed it out in this case again .. that mounting a cage there is not such a bad idea i agree on safety concern however .. as in those days the even just drove around in tshirt LOL but even for piece of mind i would rather tie it to the floor...
  2. Not that safety was a HUGE issue back in the day.. but the factory cars had similar cages mounted And another pic Alan used in one of his threads( Alan where did you get this as i could swear i have seen the exact same picture in a book i have, or is it yours there aswel ) and another pic from the same thread. A friend of mine has a Factory car that even has the panels prepped to accept the cage So i guess back then this was the rule of law .. so my bet is that is safe enough to do something. Some of the drivers hated a full cage so removed it .. as it blocked sight!
  3. maybe it used strombergs they look somewhat similar to the su's but are also used in blow trough turbo set ups on euro cars back in the day .. However this is THE era that gave turbos a bad name and rep .. and that might learn you something ... if you really want it ... the singel draw through kit was available in the UK under janspeed as they never got the zxt ( poor them !!) anyhow tony ... your fond farewell and into problem less efi haha i can remember a MsS thread LOL Anyhow i would for the uniqueness, love to see it tried.. i mean why not ! I have don stuff that is not useful but hey that is what it is a hobby for .. however bear the reminder with you ... it is by far from the easy path!
  4. more details on that ride please !! i kind of like it in a way
  5. haha i understand that, but all cars i have seen built like this thus far where mostly US cars with HUGE engines.. i really like the way the two are combined in yours ! its is different in a way i love it!
  6. I keep being amazed .. the way this car is built is a fairly American approach ... so looking at a purpose built drag car i would suspect a big piece of Detriot iron upfront .. It kind of throws you of to see a line 6 there .. great craftsmanship stony .. it sure is something that i get inspiration out of.
  7. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/68-CHARGER-BRAKE-TAIL-LIGHTS-SUPER-SWEET-CONDITION_W0QQitemZ270070890797QQihZ017QQcategoryZ33716QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem these would be cool ligts in a s30 !!
  8. no problem mario.. you should talk to zya .. here is what he has done sorry for using it it was great info for me here is the post http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=115673&highlight=supercharger+bleus
  9. well have you ever heard of the lancia delta s4 ? or the Nissan March super turbo ? they used the same principle .. in stock form.. given the group B lancia was a homologation model .. some after market tuners do the same http://www.alpine-developments.us/projects.html The turbo i have will support 600 HP not laggy at all .. however the idea is just way cool.. First it will be a turbo! and then when i worked out all the bugs and crap.. ill see if i can fabricate it like that .. again not looking at max power i want a flat curve .. and well because it can be done..and i have all the parts I would either mount it on the plenum or on the passenger side of the of the bay ( it would mean removing it to access the spark plugs YIKESSSS)
  10. im actually planning on twin charging.. turbo and supercharger ! but where to mount it is the question
  11. how about turning the turbos around .. however this would make your exhaust pipe interesting.. So an elbow would your best bet .. if they fit under the manifold that way
  12. looks like handy work judging from the 200 mark .. but non the less good going !
  13. 260DET .. a question for you .. i have hear roumers of a nismo cluster for s130 available in japan .. never seen one .. so my geuss would be the a confused with the Skyline ones. The tach is supossed to reach 10K and speedo 300 ( bastard!!! ) Is this true? you are closer to Japan so i hope you would know. s130's rock .. ( haha just had to !! sorry guys!)
  14. I was reading on this http://www.datsport.com/Racer_Brown_Menu.html very interesting stuff back to the read!! not much about turbos but loads on overlap etc
  15. I like em though i read the flex allot so for road racing they aren't the best .. however they fill out those wells PERFECTLY
  16. any pics of how you mounted it .. or in general .. as im rather curios to the width and how it will sit considered the arching window
  17. What are your guys thoughts on one of these ? I see em all the time on race cars .. or vids that is .. anyone uses one ? recommends one .. curious as it would help with blind spots
  18. I always hated tachs ON the dash or wherever, However next time mine will mount there haha .. it took me a good 9 hours of my life but it looks somewhat decent in my book .. As you can see i cut a hole in the 'glas' so i can still dail in the shift light, apart from the the whole tach can turn so i can get used part in sight more .. as i doubt my z will do 10K like the Bonneville car As you see here you need to cut the print for the tach to fit, and you have to disassemble the tach as wel. Not completely finished as i brushed off the leads became obsolete. I rerouted them by soldering wires, and have a couple left to do as i run out of time. Next to that i cut another print and spaced it to keep the original plugs working .. they wont fit jammed next to the tach and some of the pins have been rerouted as the came in harms way. Far from done just dangling there but here is the bigger picture so if you want a tach like this .. buy an s30 or spent a decent amount of time BTW you ' need' one like this with the Mallory hi fire systems as the stock tach does not like signal from the high discharges unit as much.
  19. to make the tach fit you have to make some 'detours' on original print.. and the pugs don't have enough room so you need two cluster at least or find another way . funny new school print vs old school took me a good 8 hours orso .. so now i know why they mount them on the dash haha
  20. haha we have all seen the zcar.com .. 'flame war' don't get me wrong i like zcar .. for the living room bar feeling, but get this: seemingly data is not data .. and no this prolly wont be perfect i take but at least we will have some ideas of what will work and what not apart from endless discussion about it ( witch is fun aswel but .. you get the draft )ooh well. Curious for the results! if want fuel economy we need to buy a hybrid LOL
  21. well we have came trough another summer and if Tonys son did not polish it ... it will seem more pink now but hey it shines ! and would be very easy to become a really shiny car! ... i know it would not be tony ! However now it is a black widow home haha ! dusty and full of nice webbing! I can bring a dizzy for you btw .. lemme know in time !
