and with a vengeance, this summer... So here is what I got. 240z rolling chassis in a rent-a-shack. I'm supposed to be building this r33 drivetrain for a customer.. however.. i have a complete spare set-up on the floor, and he may be abandoning his project.. so there is a chance.. albeit a small chance... im toying with the idea of putting the z body down on a custom frame with a complete r33 gtr set up, from the drivetrain to the steering (yes.. rear steering too), to the suspension. However.. more than likely, it will be another 7m z. since i have several of these laying around. No boyd coddington rims this time though.. anyway... Just wanted to say hey, missed you guys. most of you probably dont remember me and are going.. "hey.. who is this nut?!" Looking forward to talking with intellegent people again...

goin 7m again... i have the stuff, and it was plenty fast, cept this time with more power...

oh yah, i know you want to know this. Goals : basically a street/track car, will definatly see a road coure (road atlanta mostly and talledega). But i am going to want to drive it around on fun nights. but i drive my supra most of the time, especially in summer, and it does makes around 450rwhp on pump at 17psi. but it doesnt handle for poo poo, so the z is definatly more the track car, but like i said, i want a nice wide powerband, because i will take it out to cause trouble on the road. especially when i go out with my brother (sr s13). Ok, me and the guys have been bouncing ideas back and forth for a few weeks, but now im looking for a little outside input. sometimes its nice to get ideas and thoughts outside of our usual box. so heres the deal. im building another z, probably wont get heavy into it until summer, but im trying to get it all laid out. now, i know the smart thing for me would be get an ls1 but i just can't wrap my head around a old school z making that noise. so here is what im looking at. sr20 v.s. 7mgte. now some of you remember i already had the 7m z once. but im not sure i want to go that route again. cost for build is going to be pretty much identicle. now as i figure it, on each set up i would want, the 7m z takes a 1lb/hp advantage on the z. which to me doesnt sound like much, considering the sr sits completely behind the front suspension making handling VERY nice and the overall weight would be less by probably 250-300 pounds. however i can get full 18psi out of a 57mm turbo on the 7m by 3400-3500 rpm.(know for a fact) where as an sr wont see it on a gt25r until almost 4 if not a little over. (from what ive read). but i know the 7ms extremely well and have a lot of spare stuff (since i drive an mk3 supra as well). so.. thoughts?

hey all, anyone know of a good place online or anyone on this forum with a lot of sr20 dyno sheets? ive poked around the usual. lookin for gt25, and gt 30r dyno sheets, prefferably pump gas.. 17-18psi. And just in case anyone asks, no its not for a z, yes im still building cars, and yes there is most likely another z in my future.

well, here is the thing, i have a few other cars im wanting to do too, its also too many projects, and i hate to say it, but the z is on the bottom of the list of things id like to work on or finish.. so.. it needs to go, i wont part with it if i cant get what i want out of it though... so we shall see. if anyone wants anything, pm me or e-mail me, ill see what i can gwet rid off...

lost interest i guess, too much of a pain, and im too busy, sad considering its so close to done, i coudl sell it all for 5k, or part it out, right now nobody has bought the wheels and tires, they could come with it, coil overs, corbeau seat, 4x4 brakes, disc rear, r200, 7mgte and 5 speed mounted and wired, autometer dash, bunch of crap.... these cars really require more time and money, i work 50 some odd hours a week for under 30k a year, and im 21, trying to figure out what i want to do for a living... maybe ill try again later in life...

wasnt calling you a moron, and yes, i can see it would help in street racing. but honestly, if i roll up in my 65 triumph tr4a, and you say, what all you got done, and i say, um.. coil overs, big brakes, wheels, bigger fuel injectors, upgraded turbo, bigger pistons, and full exhaust.. what are you going to assume? not knowing me, not knowing im on here. your gonna be like.. ya whatever. all im saying is, dont fault the kid for looking at you funny when you told him you had a cam in it. really, do you expect people to go " a cam really? its a v8 swap? cool?" i dont mind pointing out people who are dumb, but i dont think we should tease about a kid who would make the same assumption 99% of us would make. i can understand that its funny, it would be to me too. i love when people ask why there is a toyota symbol on my motor, i tell them its from a supra, and they are like, wow, 2jz.. cool. and i love when people ask if the cuda has a hemi, i tell them nope, and they act like it must be slow.. and i especially love when i tell people im thinkin about those mods for a tr4a, and they dont have a clue that on the floor under a cover behind it... is a sr20det... but i wont knock them for being confused, just uninformed..

ya i know, i was just making a joke, thats what i meant, i never get to see them painted, everytime i put them on, the car goes, and gets painted later, i only ever see them the way they come from msa, u know, white.. it was supposed to be a weenie joke... never mind...

wow, amazing the effect wheels and colors have, thats where i always get mine from, and yours look bigger, maybe i just have flare envy, actually i figured it out, ive never seen them painted, i install and let them get the car painted, so mine always come white, yours is black, black ones are always bigger hahaha

wow, for a sec there i thought i was back on sf, you sound like they do. like people said, there are plenty of cool owners, lots and lots of bad ones, just depends. and as for the story that started it, lets be honest and point out a few things.... #1 - a 3rd gen supra with some basic mods, and an upgraded ct26 can run low 12's, with the right driver, add some other stuff, and they go quicker. #2 - not many fast 2nd gen rx7s on this planet, especially 10-11 sec ones with stock 13bs, and i said 2ND GEN. However, motor swaps are a different story, and 99% of all enthusiasts, me included, when told " I have a cam in it", are not going to assume you swapped a v8, we are going to assume your a moron. I know a lot of people around atlanta, and i only know of one nice stock motor'd 2nd gen, and it wouldnt run down a to4e 3rd gen, not even close,. Its true, most supras only run from 60mph, but there are a ton that do more than that. a friend of mine, larry, has an auto single'd car, runs 1.38's all day long on his STREET set up at road atlanta, and to let you guys know, that is FAST down there. especially in a slushbox. I've put together some nice cars that are making 400rwhp by 3500 rpm, its just not what most people do. all depeneds on preference, lets not forget why we started this forum in the first place...

id pay 1200 if they are perfect, 1500 with the used tires...

i would like to congratulate you, you have just shaken my whole plan for my car, that looks so clean. I have custom made boyd coddington 17s, building custom metal flares.. etc.. and only decided on that after months of not knowing if i wanted old school or new school, and now, im thinkin of selling the boyd rims, forget the flares.. and going with zgs and some 16s.you wouldnt mind if i copied your paint, wheels and body work would ya? you know what they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery by the way, where did you get your zgs from, ive had a few sets and those look bigger? might just be the color and wheels though.. if they are, they may fit my wheels and i would have no need for all this trouble..

need to let someone on here host the vid so we can download and save it, i want that one for keeps

at 2200 for a custom set, thats as much as ccw or work, which would be the only wheels i would use for the next z.

anyone state side order these new? anyone know?

wait, do i need to re-use the same circlip to hold the cv in, or will it stay in ok just by the pressure? i know, dumb, sorry...

ok,so the inside of the diff should be splined the same as the z31 axles, thanks, thats what i was missing... phew!

ok, i need to be set straight, something is going on, and it may be as simple as im an idiot and missing something, so i buy an r200, i buy z31 axles, i send my stubs to ross, who has not gotten them or sent them back, but i take my new cv shafts to the car, and something isnt making since, i know i have the right cv axles, i see pictures of them, one end is splined, the other has the four bolt holes. but my stub is coming back, which i assume bolts to the with the flange with four holes, and the splined in goes into the diff? but my diff has stub axles with flanges hanging out.. no hole for a splined shaft.. so, do i not have an r200, or am i dumb? do i need to do something to the diff? clueless... tell me if you need pictures, this is getting really annoying. edit: about the axles to ross, i realized re-reading it that it sounds funny, im not complaining, i only meant that i have sent them off, and have now gotten confused, ross hasnt recieved them because i sent them yesterday, i love ross, wouldnt want people to think im complaining about him.

Well, it turns out im actually going to do the z31 swap, i read someplace though that ross's kit only works with the 27 spline 280z stuff, not the 240z 25 spline, so i have a 74 260, would that be 25 or 27 and if its 25, can someone help me find 280 stub assemblies? ill pay someone for thier time if they could help me out, this car is so close to being truely road worthy, HELP !!! hey is it just me, or does it say awd in the description?

I'm doing the r200 conversion, are the 280zx turbo halfshaft the same for left and right or are they different?

bout to say, ifsomeone can still make a copy, id glady make em for the ga boys, could make a bunch and bring em to SEZ in sept. if someone wants to send me one.
