Without looking at the book to see what the placement should be I am not sure but what is your timing set to? My problem was that I could not advance my timing ended up my oil pump was off by one tooth.
Most all the set ups I have seen take
the PVC valve(breather) from the rocker cover <----> to catch can <--->Block vent to catch can
can Catch has a vent...
So my shop teacher said this was not a good idea because the PVC valve needs vaccum
Any other ideas ?
or is this acceptable on a L28 turbo ...
The vented block breather is making a mess out of my engine bay ...
I really hate to here that. He was a great mechanic as well I made a couple of trips to Atlanta so he could build my engine. He always was very patient with me being a noob.
Update: Pulled the turbo and YES Tony you were right 1.06 AR turbine housing guess I am ordering a .63 unless there are any other better options. From what I have read .83 is still too big for autocross and having fun in 2-3rd gear. I plan to run around 12 -15lbs of boost maybe turn it up a bit here and there. Primarily wanting more bottom end..... Oya and I did install a wideband about 12-14 at idle dropping steadily under boost to about 8-9a/r a little rich ?
Thanks again for all the info/help

I too am running a turbo set up 2 aftermarket fans. Mine run all the time switched with the key and no problems. Why not have them run alll the time ? I do have to run them when the car is shut down (also have an electric water pump running
Do you still have the cold start valve? Mine was taken out so I have turn the key wait till it starts to fire and then floor it. Then as it floods let off the gas and it will start. Not really a problem in the summer but it its a process when cold outside. Newzed had some good ideas for trouble shooting..
If the pump comes on when the key is on someone has bipassed the safety switch on the oil pressure gauge. that is on my list of things to do as well...
I have a hks (?) manual boost controller works fine but am going over to a innovate electronic which is controler afr meter and boost controller . Since I am running a remapped Jim Wolf ECU I cannot control fuel, spark etc. that well . This way if I run lean the boost will drop . thats the idea anyway. With my little knowledge I do believe Bloz up is correct you just need a simple manual boost controller to trick your external wastegate.
