  4. A leak down test will tell a lot more . I think you could probably get one at HB. on a stock engine rings should be good for many miles. My turbo car had numbers in the 120s. one cylinder with a broken ring was down to 100 . I would be checking other things before tearing into the engine esp. if it is your daily
  5. TURBO, if you are going to do all the work ... I think you will be much happier (I have a carbed car and turbo one) Just play it safe .
  6. New zed is right. I ran with those numbers for a while. As long is it not smoking or fouling plugs your fine. I even got close to that with a broken ring and ringland but smoking like a freight train, Leak down test showed it was #5 . Most all engines should fall in the 10-15% of one another
  7. for the doors I used kia sorento and no adhesive works 100% better than black dragons with adhesive
  8. mine does the same I put a oil pressure gauge on it from harber F . said 5-7 at idle when guage said 0 . as long as it comes up when driving (I think )

  13. p79 with flat tops , n47 n42 with dished. flat tops with the n42 is always debatable some people say its great but you have dial back timing . I have a n47 that was just rebuilt with a couple thousand miles on if interested . but if you have p79 already ...
  14. man you are so far away ... I have the same set up sitting in my garage but the its has bad rings and needs a rebuild ... still I maybe interested if no one picks it up lmk . it maybe a few weeks before l would be ready with $
  15. I use 420 cc bosch low impedance injectors. I think the the guy from the injector cleaner place told me they were from a Porsche or that style.

  17. Has your ecu been remapped by JWT ? I am running the same set up but the PO installed it. It always is on the rich side. Make sure your MAF is away from the turbo. I assume you have been to there web site. If you are nice and have specific questions they are very helpful but you must be specific.

  19. Head has been checked and I was running it till the engine in my car started burning oil . Leak down 30-40% on cylinder 5 so I need a bottom end rebuild. My bottom has ross racing pistons so I would like to reuse . I have a good head need a good bottom. How much for yours? and/or any recommendations for a good shop in atlanta for the bottom end build. I use to have John William build my engine. Thanks I am 4 hours away but get down there on occasion
  20. Ok f54 block has been rebuilt . took the head off do to blown head gasket . I never saw this engine run. Cylinder walls have no cross hatching and has some vertical scratches . One i can catch with a fingernail. I am assuming that I cant run this engine and it will need a rebore or at least hone. Am I right ? I was told it ran fine before and did not smoke. I would really like to be on the road without spending 800-1000$ PO tried to run 22lbs of boost went well before this Thanks
  21. I wish I could help a little more but I just bought a 73' with a 5.0 and AOD (I believe) . It fits I don't think the trans tunnel was modified mounts were custom. Wish I had the 5 speed
  22. I have a EFR 7064 on my L28. I really like it. Wish I could go a little smaller on the exhaust side but all in all a great turbo. Snug fit but it works. Spools quick but I cant wait to install ported header and refreshed head. I don't have much to compare it to I had a Garrett with a 1.06 exhaust previously.
  23. Z ya is right sounds like a turbo block with n42 head. I ran up to 17lbs with a 2mm HG with that set up. Remapped ECU from a 300 zx. and intercooler
