  1. ZX Beast, are the washer you are referring to are for the head studs, since intake/exhaust are not the same thickness? Thanks, I will now have to find the right washers, Dayz
  2. Very Very nice. I am about to do mine, How did you handle the "Silver" piece of plastic, that is where my problem is at right now. Dayz
  3. I was, Maxima disk and calipers. Fit is great and Handbrake bracket fits well as wel, Dayz
  4. Perhaps a Roof Skin...Easy to press! I know I would buy one. Dayz
  5. I can't help you out with the transmission but the bolt vertical for manual or horizontal for automatic I believe.
  6. 3 Z's for me 71-72 and 73. None are running but one very close...in the spring time for sure. It is quite funny, 1 parts car in the driveway, one in the garage and one shell in the backyard on blocks under a tarp. All that in Toronto, between the 1.5M$ houses, with their Jaguar, Bmw's and Mercedes. I try to keep my close neighbors happy...I am seeing future complaints coming!
  7. I have the same at home, I have problem rebuilding my turbo...any advice??? Dayz
  8. Same exact thing as civic coilovers...ID is the same. I guess you can use it for parts, and buy new springs! Dayz
  9. Your title should be more descriptive. With that said, refer to your Shop manual for timing, oil pump shaft at the right position, spark plug in the right order. In your case, TDC is on the compression stroke, take the valve cover off, spark plug out and put it at TDC. Now, check your distributor. If is is not right, take it out and see where the oil pump shaft is pointing. It should point at 11h30 if I am right...search to make sure. If the oil pump is at the wrong place, take it out and reposition it correctly (refer to the shop manual). Install everything. Try to start it...if is is better, good, now time it. Check if it fires on every cylinders. Your carbs might also be dirty which would also cause it to run roughly.
  10. Some guys have ran their engine like that for a long time without problem. Make sure that the timing is OK and you are set. I personally like thing to be at the right place, thus re-aligning the oil pump shaft in the short run. You shouldn't have any problem if the timing is right and its running properly. Make sure to tell the next guy, or write it down, it is the kind of problem that can take forever to find! Dayz
  11. First put the engine at TDC. Now check your oil pump mark to see it is where it should be. I believe your oil pump might not be where it should, thus distributor being off, and not able to put it at the right place. Try to advance each of the wire one hole forward or backward to adjust the timing. Then you will know what the problem is. Look around, there is a post on this very subject.
  12. I stand corrected...from what I read, Number on the negine data plate should match engine number. I am sorry ! Dayz
  13. In the 240z world, There is no way to match the "original number" of the car with the engine. From the books I have read, as long as the engine/head - series match...you are good. Maybe you can ask HLS-0xxx something, a guy from UK on this site, I am pretty sure he would know this answer. Dayz
  14. I am happy I have helped, I rewired my car, and what a feeling working with OEM connectors and a real professional crimper. Great looking electrical work. Dayz
  15. I filled a Paypal dispute and got the money back, well it seems. I have been in business for some time now, and sorry for saying his, I do not care of what is going on in your life at the time, you said something, well...you deliver on what you have said. Now, yes I understand being late, or having a true excuse, things happen in life and that is OK. Pushing the limit isn't. On this transaction, I have done more than my part, I forgive him since he sent me the money back, but still, it shouldn't happen. In life, you deliver on what you say, plain and simple. Dayz
  16. Sorry to hijack your thread again Mark, but in the same line of thought, another member here helped me out. JSM pm'ed me to offer me to dismantle tham for me so... he went to the scrapyard, dismantled calipers for me, mis-communication led to another trip to the yard, boxed up the parts, sent it here in Canada and received the package today. I am a very happy person. Some guys here would go more than out of their way to help another, this is what makes this site so great. Thanks JSM Dayz
  17. My experience have been great with guys on this borad, except one that doesn't seem to be here anymore! I have seen on other boards a sort of seller/buyer ranking such as ebay for sale within the forum...might be a good idea! Dayz
  18. Get an Haynes manual, or go and print out the Chilton at your local library. This will make your life easier. It is step by step instruction. Remember which goes where, work intelligently (faster in the long run) and take your time. Half a day job maybe more, Good luck and hope you enjoy it! Dayz
  19. I just just long nose pliers to pull it out, from what I remember! Your mothers tweezers or that kind of thing. It shouldn't be hard to pull out Dayz
  20. I have to ask this silly question...it seems very newbie! But hey! Rebuilt engine compression, never started - should it be good, equal, or it is irrelevant since the rings haven't sealed anything yet? It should be ran before any diagnostic - Yes or no, Thanks for this newbie question. Dayz
  21. I guess everyone shaves them, Lol
  22. Dismantle it again! Maybe you have a piece of dirt in it...it doesn't take much. Check your vacuum as well, I remember trying to start them one time without the hoses plug in, wasted 2 hours assembling disassembling carbs to find out it was taking air from the balance tube. Same theory of finding an elec. gremlin for hours to find out it was a fuse! Gas, fire at the right time with proper amount of air will get you going! Good luck Dayz
  23. Guys, What goes between the body and the side of the bumper on a 240z. I am mounting them, have a 1/4 inch gap on each side. Is there something in between or it bends and the tab contacts the body? Any pics would be appreciated! Dayz
