  1. Check this one out, It is the one I have, I should have bought all the dies. In my opinion, it is a very good tool, I love it. Scroll to the bottom of the page http://www.vintageconnections.com/
  2. You need to change the line or put a fitting but that would be as much work and as much $. Dismantle the line, Go to your autozone, buy a line of the same size, rent the flaring tool as well as the "bending tool", make a line and reinstall it. It should cost you 10$. Bleed the brakes, and you are set. Make sure you get the same fittings.
  3. If you want 240z connectors, I used this guy:http://www.vintageconnections.com/ Very nice guy to deal with, same connectors as the Datsun, at least many of them. Dayz
  4. Don't forget to take a picture, I want to see were it was. Hopefully not in the Z anywhere! Dayz
  5. Got a good Chart I believe, http://www.windsun.com/Hardware/Wire_Table.htm
  6. From what I read, #4 to 1/0 is the way to go. I haven't calculated the amps of everything yet, I would need to do that. I had #4 originally on the Z and I haven't had anything. I think I should be fine with a #4, I will let you know. I am still looking for a chart. Thanks
  7. Guys, I have searched the net on this topic, anyone has used welding cable for their relocated battery? Anyone has a chart of the size to use? The consensus on the web from what I have read is that it is perfect to use and is more flexible. The difference is that welding cable has more strands in the wire. I am just wondering which size I need to use.
  8. It is funny how people answers...California and arizona resident would never even look at that kind of project, people in the North East would think it is not too bad. For a canuck like me, it is normal...I say do it! It is not that bad of a Job if it isn't your daily driver. Just don't get into the while I am at it syndrome, Dayz
  9. I will go and do it right with a good set of pistons. Anyone have a good set STD size? I am sure they could work, but why not doing it right the first time. Thanks for your help guys, Dayz
  10. I guess I will dismantle the other engine and POLT (see tony's post) It is a very stock 240z rebuilt, as a present for my father...so no real performance is in the future. If on this piston, my ring clearances are fine, is it usable or I will have a nice paperweight either way? What impact does it have on the rebuilt engine? This camera is awesome, I can see a lot more detail on this pics than by looking at it. Thanks guys, Dayz
  11. As the title says, I am rebuilding my engine and see very little detonation. What is your advice? I could dismantle another engine to steal its piston, but that would be a lot of work. Everything else look very good, I just want to make sure. Here is the piston with markings and another one that look like the five others.
  12. Well, in my book, if I get T-Boned in my 1970, I will look like nothing usefull! Have a look in those doors. The S30 is a thin can, with the engine coming right beside the 2 occupant in a front collision crash. With all that said, I personally would run a cage, maybe not a full one but at least with the sidebars (6 point). I have the same goal as you in mind and I will run a full cage. At the end of the day, they say that in an accident, what you can touch with your hand, you can/will hit it with your head at the time of impact. I am subscribing to this thread for sure, Dayz
  13. Thanks to all of you. I have search a little an found interesting information. 82-83 280zx - REAR, Overall Diameter: 258.0, Minimum Thickness: 9.0, Height: 47.0, With Rear Dis 90 240sx - REAR, Overall Diameter: 258.0, Minimum Thickness: 8.0, Height: 46.5, Without ABS. That helps me but I am stunned. I can't understand what are my brake brackets. Please view my new thread. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?p=935470#post935470 Dayz
  14. I have those bake brackets on the shelf, What caliper and disk do I need. I thought it was for Maxima caliper and 280zx disk, I believe I am wrong. Please Help, Thanks Dayz
  15. Guys, Is there a website or something with specs for brake rotors? Ei: Diameter, hole pattern, offset, thickness... I am at least looking for the nissan 300zx ( four hole) rear and 280zx rear. The 280zx have 2 part number, I was wondering what is the difference. Thanks Dayz
  16. I have had that kind of problem before. As stated above, clean your carb...you might have a little piece that makes it go bad (ei: rust) When that piece fall down in the bowl, it works and when it gets suck into the jet it blocks it until it goes down again and so on. Dismantle it, clean it and it will work. It is not so bad to rebuild it again! It is fun...a little puzzle! Dayz
  17. Careless, Either you sand the material until there is no more dimple, or at your liking and polish from there. I have seen many polished parts...majority of them have defect such as cast marking. They where still there, I guess it depends how fussy you are. Remember that you have to upkeep it as well, polish it all the time.
  18. Wow, nice piece of art. I still cannot understand the order to weld this manifold. I guess I will read on this, Dayz
  19. Search for a post made by Grumpyvette...at one point he explained the procedure very well, you might even PM him! Dayz
  20. There is 2 screw at the topi believe it is 2) on the piece closest to the door and and 2 screws at the top towards the rear...as the picture above. ( With that piece removed, pull apart the front and bottom sideglass molding until the glass is in your hand. You will see some small pieces of rubber, they go where the joints are. Took me 1 hour each sideglass, and everything looks great. I used the BD sideglass kit. I found it easier to screw the front upper corner last when re-assembling it...it will take all your body parts to close it to fit...but it will fit. Dayz

    Headliner ideas

Recover it with vinyl, leather or even or speaker carpet...or whatever it is called.
  22. In the 240z, the one I knows, they put one speaker on the driver side...same position as the one in the pics. I decided to put 6 1/2 HK from a BMW...I am looking for sound, not loud nor real quality. Dayz
  23. Armand, You are right. this car is a present for my father and it is a complete restoration...close to original as possible with some little tweak. Either way, my father never listen to the radio, so quality in the sound system isn't my priority! Thanks Dayz
  24. You are right SS, any idea on my problem!!! Do you still have a 280zx alternator on that parts car? I might need that pulley Dayz
  25. Thanks Dave, knew the second site but not the first one. Any idea where I can find the new style connectors...I got some old relays from the JY but need the install connectors in those and they are the new style, I have no clue what they are called. Thanks again for your help, Dayz
