  1. Great info, I just finish rebuilding mine. Question for you guys, do you have any picture of where the spring for the flap goes? I have 3 boxes and none have the spring. It is the same king of spring as the one one the Fan box. Thanks Dayz
  2. Rust in the eye..The answer is yes. Seriously guys, it happened to all of us, make sure the particles are out of the eye. It happened at night, normal little rust fell under my glasses while I was under the car, no big thing right? I cleaned my eye, it was getting late so I went to bed. Next day it was like I had a grain of sand in it, no big deal, it will come out, right? Well No. I went to the doctor to see if it was still there, and yes! It was digging its way towards the center every time I was opening/closing my eye. He took mini-pliers to pull the little piece out, after used a mini-grinder to grind my eye, yes you hear right. Trust me, my eye lid wasn't opening easily with a grinder in sight. I have put medication and everything is good now. Moral of the story, watch out, work intelligently, don't try to go to fast!
  3. Congrats, continue the good work. Did you paint or re-plate the SU's throttle linkage ? Nice work on the engine. Dayz
  4. Guys, I need some help finding these connectors. I want to reuse the same socket, therefore in need of the same connectors! Where can I buy these and what are they called? Butt con. Male Female I found this site while searching google regarding connectors, Do we have Pakard 56 Series? http://www.rowand.net/Shop/Tech/AutomotiveElectricalConnectors.htm Thanks Dayz
  5. I feel like I am always here Lol...I would guess buying a front clip and selling the pieces you don't need is a cheaper way to do it...unless you are going standalone and custom everything. Dayz
  6. This is great info, rarely talked about on the forum. Can you explain and insert pictures of butt welding wires, and/or welding a connection that goes on a sensor (on a thin wire) I don't feel like putting weatherpack connectors everywhere, I am sure a lot of us will learn from this thread. thanks guys, Dayz
  7. http://www.tigerjapanese.com/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=8&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1 Shipping is free! I have got more than one engine from them and got good quality. I am in noway associated with the company...just forwarding the engine shop I go see the first. Dayz
  8. Mull, If was going to change the front suspension, I would look into double wishbone technology. RX7, RX8, 350z(I believe) would be good choices. There are some setup where both control arms bolt to the front crossmember, which makes it a lot easier to adapt to your car. Dayz
  9. Maybe you can check out Johnc, he seems to be reliable and a good worker. I know that if I wasn't doing a swap myself, I would like to deal with a good guy that wants to help...even after the swap, Dayz
  10. Yes, he knows I am building one...he doesn't know it is for him. He is building an RV-7 (aircraft) and always wanted to help me out. The car will be built stock/with add-on for practicality, I am quite sure he will keep it forever! Thanks EL
  11. This car is for the old man, he am giving him a present...lets say as appreciation for the help he gave me since I am born. Now that I can give him a present that I built, he will be more than touched. Knowing him, he wants to have it stock. Since I have the early engine in good condition, I will rebuild it that way. Regarding my 240z...it will be another story Dayz
  12. Guys, I am ready to rebuild a stock L24. I need rings, bearings, seals...Are the ones from BlackDragon any good? or should I buy those from someone else. Any advise on these parts would be great. I want to make sure I will get good parts from BD auto, not Chinese BS. Thanks Dayz
  13. I would edit my post before an admin sees it !! Maybe an honest mistake....Have fun on Hybridz
  14. Aren't you going with forced induction? I believed that M3 and LSX are all changing their composite manifold in favor of an Aluminum one. Is it because the composite one isn't strong enough? Dayz
  15. If I see well, this guy has no space for air filters, therefore probably very low mileage, since he can't use it! Dayz
  16. Thank you very much. For the phone, I guess the wrong pocket ! Dayz
  17. I think a lot of us are in the same boat. Make time for her, and your family. Keep a day at least for her per week if you want to keep her. Keep one day for your car, and that is a given. Organize yourself, but I am sure guys on this board will tell you that you have to give up your hobby time in exchange of family time. I know it isn't fun !! But as work, you have to do it and it is not always fun!! Dayz
  18. Picture of the old or new pump would be great, I would like to see the bracket. I am restoring one at the moment and would like it to look as the 72 dealer optioned!! I know I am on Hybridz and stock don't cut it...but this car isn't mine. Lol Thanks Dayz
  19. Can you post a picture of that electric fuel pump? I would like to see the bracket it came with. Thanks Dayz
  20. The answer is yes, you can drill out the rivets separating the numerous gaskets depending of the thickness. You have dowel pins, don't you? I remember a post by GrumpyVette explaining proper steps in installing MHG.
  21. You can check out this place. This type of line is pretty common, Check the store, http://store.fedhillusa.com/cuniferbrakeandhydline.aspx Dayz
  22. I ran in the same problem a while ago. Do yourself a favor and search for copper-nickel on this website. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=113494&highlight=copper-nickel http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=122496&highlight=copper-nickel Will not rust, very very easy to bend. I have enough to make 1 Car, PM me if you are interested in a set. I bought too much !! Dayz P.S. Sorry, I didn't try to hijack your thread. I posted this more for the comparison with Stainless Steel, which is harder to bend and the need of a very good tool to make flare. Here is what I have done...Very clean job I believe.
  23. ZX Boot...that makes a lot of sense. Are the ones from Black Dragon usually the right size? Thanks
  24. Don't want to jack your thread, but what is the process in putting 2 engines together? It cannot be a simple welded crank ? Dayz
  25. Guys, Just ordered a boot kit from Black Dragon to replace the ones I have now on the car. They don't seem to fit, the inner ID of the boots is way too big ( by 1/2"). What is your experience, are they all the same or they just sent me the wrong ones? I am sure some of you bought those boots from them. If they are all the same, where do you get a decent replacement? Dayz
