Hey guys, I'm Rafe and I'm currently a senior at Chapman University in Orange, Ca. I'm majoring in Communication Studies with a Public Relations minor. I'd love to work for a car mag or do some type of PR work for a major car company. Currently I do IT work at my college...yes I am at work right now I got my first Z when I was 16, a '77 280, and it all started there. Fast forward 5 years and I'm on my third Z and am planning a 1JZ or 2JZ swap in the near future.

I've got a sound deadener kit from quietride.com and it helped with the noise. I still need new door seals but it isn't too bad. I drive with the windows down 99% of the time so it doesn't really matter haha. And no worries. I'm not one that cares about thread-jacking. It's all good

That sounds good! It could be your mic on the camera but I don't think my Z is all that much louder. It's definitely loud...but I have some 6x9's in the back and can hear them just fine

I'm in the process of selling my wheels right now and I decided to clean off the back of one of the wheels. Upon cleaning I found that these are NOT Spectre 2's made by American Racing. They are Asahi's and have "ami" stamped in the back. Any info on these? Did Asahi manufacture these FOR American Racing? I couldn't find much info online.

I wouldn't have been able to do it w/o my parent's help. They pitched some money as part of an early graduation present and the rest I'm paying off. I loved driving the Z, and miss it a LOT, but I just couldn't afford the gas anymore and I didn't want to throw any money into an engine that I'm ultimately going to pull. I love it. The 2.0 has plenty of pep, the build quality is very tight-feeling, and you can't beat the warranty. The upgraded stereo is awesome and it helps that it's a 5-speed!

Man...reading all this makes me glad to be a PR and COM major GL Josh, I know you'll figure it out. I've had friends that were Bio and Chem majors that switched around to different sciences. I wish I had gone to CC before a 4 year just to save money and maybe look into different options so it really is NOT a bad route to take. I think if anything it'd be a one step back but two forward kind of deal. It's just a different path. You got this dude!
