    New ride

I'd like to see you Aussie long distance cruise control junkies try taking on a windy king country or southern alps twister at speed

    New ride

they needed that warranty to keep people buying mitsi, they have a HORRID reputation for their small diesels and auto trans here in NZ, Every mitsi that I have owned has had it's auto box either die completely or need rebuilding, same with my mothers mitsubishis.
  3. try working on a house that's been through an earthquake and then 70 years of additions and extensions and modifications...
  4. Now you got the image locked in my head of Tim Taylor with white hair in a retirement home... What would HE work a granny transporter like?
  5. hmm, that got me thinking... what would the Mustang be like with a turbo 4.0L 6cyl? Ought to be able to spank the pants off a V8 Camaro
  6. I've tended to stick to war recreations, War at Sea, generally playing the Allies, and other hex/turn based war games ranging from the desert War of Rommel vs the 8th army, the normandy breakout, the winter war. It's to big to play the entire WW2, but smaller battles and campaigns can keep one entertained
  7. I buggered about with View Source in firefox, and this is what I got: http://pictures.sprintpcs.com/mmps/006_09d2b1cbe438e300_1/4.jpg (+ 3 other jpg links) That plugged into the address bar resolves as:
  8. I find it interesting, but it needs a better connection than a piddly dialup line.
  9. Now this is Useful, I've just bought a set of secondhand covers off trademe, and I doubt the seller still has the instruction manuals
  10. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/motoring/news/article.cfm?c_id=9&objectid=10586975 So I wonder what this new I4 turbo RWD 2.0L is going to be like, Is the EcoBoost out in the US already? How will it stack up against the SR20DET?
  11. generally cash in hand, first in first served. but if someone needs time and I agree to hold it. it's held until the agreed time. Since I moved rural I'm usually dropping things into the mail or shipping anyway, so it doesn't come up often, Electronic Transfers mean they can pay immediately and it can go on the next mail run past the gate.
  12. You can usually hire the testers from a good parts store and do them in the parking lot, or many garages will rent theirs out. on the other hand a compression tester is only about $30 NZD, about $15 USD for a basic one.
  13. Basicly it's just the culture of the country... the stereotypical american has the point of view that they live in a "Superpower" country and it's not their place to worry about where some minor player is located, so long as those minor players know the the US of A is. Thats my take on it. Try reading a book called "The Ugly American" it'll make you think about international relations
  14. If you check first reply posted, I reccommended pressure and leakdown tests.
  15. I think you'd find they'd ping you under city ordinances 8-9 and 20-25 including inoperative motor vehicles and parkign operative motor vehicles, not under state law 683.072 for junk vehicles.
  16. yes you need to pull out the engine, the crossmember is in the way to pull the crank and pistons from underneath. You need to drain the motor, pull it, remove the tranny and flip it upside down, remove the pan and the take the crank out, pull the pistons out on their rods and snap the rings off, snap new ones on, hone the block and replace the pistons in the bores and replace the crank. since you have the crank out and rods off, you may as well replace the bearing shells on the mains and rods. And since you've the engine most of the way apart by then, you might as well succumb to "while-you're-at-it"itis and remove the head, pull the camshaft and valve springs and lap the valves to the seats and replace the springs.
  17. no spark + blow by into the crank case from the chamber... that would explain the poor perfomance as well. They petrol int he cylnders is leaking into the crankcase instead of getting burnt. theres discussions of this if you search a bit. I'd suggest to do a cylinder pressure test + a leakdown test. You would probably be better advised to replace your rings rather than do an EFI to SU swap, you'd still have the same problem with carbs, just the method of the fuel getting to the cylinder would change, not the cylinder to crankcase fuel transfer.
  18. You mean Obama is a Queen!?!
  19. Da InterWebs. A sea of electrons surging through copper tubes with 300 million of you guys forwarding stuff around, I'm sure a kalahari bushman knows more about Bush and Obamas private life than they know about their own leaders
  20. It's not the peanut butter itself you need, but the peanut butter oil that seeps out of some brands of PB. The PB Oil is a very penetrative oil and gets through and makes the gun unstick. then shampoo the PB oil stain out. Personally, I'd just look up your local Kirby dealer/distributor in the phone book and get a spray bottle of either the citrus cleaner or the food stain remover, both do an excellent job on gum, even old gum thats been trodden in for years.
  21. I've heard it with Gore, Bush, Clinton and almost every politicion and every election year for the past decade. It's always a good one, just change the politicians name and the election year and you are all set I've also seen it with "OJ is Innocent" as the sticker.
  22. are there supposed to be pics? can't see any here either
  23. Stick with the school girls, they get in fights too, and their clothes come off then Have you checked tags in IMDB?
