  1. do you get the MGF in the states? after the head gasket has been replaced with a steel one then they're fairy reliable, cheap to run (1.8 or 1.8VVC) and pretty good handling and power (mid engine RWD)
  2. Nelson lakes, near Murchison, '79 280ZX, no motor, dual pipes for V motor.
  3. NZ-ZX, check out Zclub.org.nz as well, thats the NZ Z owners club, theres a number on there who hav sourced body kits for ZX's and would be able to give you NZ specific leads.
  4. I think I recall reading about someone talking about a caddy 500 motor that got attacked by the stroker fairy.
  5. I've had my licence suspended for 3 months once myself. in my case there were only 2 speeding tickets in the demerit point mix. most were for a broke uni student driving alone on a learners licence, in a non-WOFed car with expired rego... and later on a restricted licence, driving after 10pm alone and carrying passengers. I still manage a 60% no claims bonus from the insurance co if you're only going for a year, why not get the beast tuned for canadian gas, and ship it over under a carnet du passage. Sort of a passport for cars. Theres a time limit (12 months IIRC), and the car MUST leave after the time limit, so no selling it to a canuck, but it would let you take your own car.
  6. try a new (2000 and up) cross bolt 4.0 RV8 with merlin (aftermarket V8, not WWII V12 Spitfire) heads and see how that revs up. some on the UK V8 site are getting 8K rpm from their RV8s, with a flat plane crank they would sound even faster revving.
  7. Forget storing it I'll drive it round and keep it maintained I'll even pay the insurance
  8. I wonder if the Iraqi defence contractors would take a deaf guy would 5 years in the Cadet Corps (like the US JROTC) count towards a prior service requirement? I can strip and reassemble a fully automatic Steyr AUG if that helps and could fire 27 shots out of 30 into 6" at 100M with one lol
  9. Dat, as in Bat or At, followed by Sun, as in Bun. Mind you, I probably prnounce Bat and Bun differently to the americans, (either southern drawl or northern nasal versions of the Yankee accents) Hard A, Short U.
  10. Check out this: Putting a Rover V8 engine in a Mazda MX5 find a TVR Flat plane V8 motor and they share a lot of components (crank journal size and spacing) with the RV8/Buick 215ci motor.
  11. the RD28 IIRC looks to be a mid sump pan, how would one of those work? I might drop by the hayshed tomorrow and have a closer look at the pan. What measurements do you need to know?
  12. lol, I remember yakking over that theoretical hack job
  13. It's right hand drive in aussie, same as Japan, UK and NZ and opposite to the yankees and the cheese eating surrender monkeys.
  14. instead of searching for the crank, look for an old LD28 powered car. I know of a few on Trademe.co.nz that have been going for about $500. sell the rest of the car either as parts or to the scrap man.
  15. Two bits of good news she's recovering, and he's not going to get any chance to do it to another young woman any time soon
  16. I'm deaf, 93% loss, rated at "Profound Loss", on the audiologist tests my scores just barely scrape along the floor, and a couple of test freqs spots actually drop below the graph bottom. And I prefer mufflers! too much noise is just too much noise. A nice exhaust note is musical and tuneful, too much of a good thing is just annoyingly noisy.
  17. fuel filters, pumps can't pump if they can't get the fuel to move it around. you don't specify type belond "car", S30 L6 I presume? Carb or EFI, so if EFI, try cleaning contacts on the injector harness. Others should pop up with other ideas in due course.
  18. I wonder what the spelling and grammar would be like if D&D on command line MS_DOS was still the "in" game... try TXT spk, or AOL tlk in there and you got a "What? i could not understand your request" prompt...
  19. If it uses the same internals as the LinkECU, why not just get one of them?
  20. I doubt she'll be in the mood for a date until the bruises are gone and the neck brace is off
  21. but wouldn't the magnetic feild itself induce a drag as the object seeks to remain at the centre of the field? You wouldn't have 3D frictionless movement, just 1D along the core of a magnetic Pipe. Not even that if in a spherical volume.
  22. slam your kids fingers in the door of course!
  23. I quite like "new posts", if i need to change something, I just check the forum the thread was in (i.e. RB or L6 etc) or User C.P. and theres the last few posts I've posted in listed as my subscribed threads. Posting in a thread automaticly subscribes you.
