  1. just slap a dehumidifier in there with the car.
  2. http://www.zclub.org.nz/viewtopic.php?t=1525 I checked the Trademe link O_D_F on ZClub had up, no sale, so give him a pm, I think he's on Hybridz as well but under a different name.
  3. do you get a free wedge of cheese with every seat?
  4. Seen the pretty chick on here before, a guy in malaysia makes those bonnets.
  5. I've never used polyester resins when doing FG, West Systems epoxy is my "Go To" when I need to fix something up... I need a new set too, the old rowboat is starting to fall apart and I need to fix it back up so I can go fishing again. The only time I would use poly resin is when it is on a part that needs to flex. Epoxy and glass mat is far stiffer structurally when cured.
  6. At least it's not made out of something cospicuously stupid like mouse penis leather, Just think of how many mice would be needed for that! At least a whale have a big tonker.
  7. Yall should see me in tatty camo and flannelette with an old WWII battle rifle, next to my old hilux and a dead animal hanging out the tailgate... no WOW there, just antipodean redneck.
  8. You really need to move to aussie, they have the Falcon there that does everything you ask. solid, simple, robust, 4.0L turbo straight six, seats 5. It's low tech compared to the fancy schmancy Schick you get in the US, but it goes and keeps going, and the ADR saftey requirements are pretty close to the US ones. the Holden Commodore is the G8 of GM USA, so if the holdens can be shipped over with no modification other thn cosmetic panelwork, why not the Typhoon F6 or the XR6?
  9. I've heard of Japanese Cefiro and non-turbo Skyline RBs in the tuner underground being fitted with 6x GSXR carbs from the pre-EFI Suzuki GSXR 600, 750 and 1000 bikes. That might be a bit easier, they made a flange to bolt to the head that the GSXR carbs bolt to.
  10. LinkECU make RB Plug n Play units, pull the RB computer, plug in the Link using the freed stock plug and then plug your laptop into the Link ECU. as simple as that.
  11. Google Holden Adventra, AWD LS1 that might make a suitable Engine/AWDGearbox drivetrain donor for a AWD LSx Subie
  12. 2 speedings, 114 in a 100 zone and 60 in a 50 zone. and earlier before I got my later licences Unaccompanied driving on a learner licence x3, after 10pm unaccompanied on a restricted licence, unregistered car x3, unWOFed car x3, excessively smoky vehicle (diesel with a stuck injector that wouldn't atomise spray, like a bloody tank in "smokescreen mode"), driving without wearing safety belt x 2, Dangerous driving charge following a spin out on a corner, granted diversion with no points on my licence. I've had a 3 month administrative suspension due to amassing too many demerit points after all those youthful student years of driving outside the terms of the learners and restricted licences and not being able to afford both registration and petrol at the same time. But have been clean for the past couple of years other than a single not-wearing-seatbelt ping.
  13. 240C or 260C eh? $2000 USD to buy one and around $2000 USD for shipping and I could probably have one on a ship heading to the US there's a 1971 240C on trademe.co.nz Now and a 1978 260C makes you wish you didn't live in the home of the Mustang and the land of the Camaro doesn't it ah well, enough rubbing salt into your wounds seriously, if you really want one and have a few grand to spare, they are around here. If you join the NZ Datsun club forum you may be able to source a rear-ended and insurance-totaled one and organise shipping. Even with shipping from NZ, thats probably going to work out hellaciously cheaper than buying one in the US to hack up.
  14. There are several kiwis who have done it, zclub.org.nz actually has a running thread on now about stroking the L28 to an L3x I think you'll also find LD28's a hell of a lot cheaper over here than stateside, I have passed up sub $200 running LD28's in the past before out about Z strokers If I had been clairvoiant I could have had several grand of LD cranks in the shed lol, but since I'm not I don't Next time I'm offered a $100 USD LD, I may grab it and sell the crank to a yank for 400% clear profit
  15. Yup solid axle, I totally rebult that axle last winter, dropped the driveshaft and pulled the diff centre out while I was under there, checked bearings, greased it all up, new seals, stuck it back together, new rotors on the front with new pads and new rear drum shoes. whats up at the moment is the starter motor has died, so to start it up to go pick up calves (it's a farm truck more than a general mobility vehicle) I have to make sure I park it on a slope before turning it off
  16. Do you think they could stuff Eddie in those holes to plug them up?
  17. thats close to what my '85 hilux surf is Mine has more bumps and dents, the black plastic bumper corners missing on 3 corners, the front chrome bumper askew, no front valence under the bumper, a white fiberglass rear and the grille is 8 holes not 4 with a smooth front bumper without the two holes in that one. They're pretty tough little trucks aren't they
  18. if you take a photo, then we could take one look and tell you what it is
  19. Yup, brand new ex Nissan Japan factory stock. The wrecker I emailed (NZ's largest Nissan specialist wrecker) responded that so few 2.3 Maximas were sold in NZ since most were 3.0 models, combined with the used imports only having started showing up recently that they couldn't source a 2.3 crank. Japan has tax penalties on cars older than 7 years, which depreciates 7 year old cars a lot, so NZers being a nation of cheapskates, import a LOT of 7 year old ex-japan cars, but the VQ23DE is less than a decade old. So there aren't as many as there will be in another few years when the flood of Teanas will probably hit it's stride Hope this helps.
  20. I posted off a couple of emails last night off to some parts departments at the local nissan dealers. One came in today for $1916 NZD + tax or $1534.78 USD including tax after conversion on xe.com, ex japan. expensive! It will be interesting to see what your contacts come up price wise.
  21. in before the lock SEARCH! IIRC, Silvermine motors (the ad in the top right of the page as I type this) use 300ZX parts in their big brake kits.
  22. sounds more like an effect of venturi suction with the pipe at 45 degrees to the DP than negative backpressure. Exhaust rushing past to get out the tailpipe drags the crackcase air out and along with it.
