  1. I think we already have a thread like this somewhere..... can't remember Before After
  2. wow... you learn something new everyday. Thanks for that tid bit of info. Now I can stop locking it with the key. I fell dumb for not knowing about that. haha
  3. Had someone who actually knows what they are doing with a camera take a couple pics of the car.....
  4. I believe that is a hybridz member named "Thumper" Think he has a gto now.
  5. Looks like its really coming a long. Awesome Project! Btw.... it got posted on Jalopnik in case you didn't already know http://jalopnik.com/5241208/triumph-10-project-wagon-swaps-in-corvette-engine
  6. http://www.ifsja.org/forums/vb/showthread.php?t=102133
  7. 280z rear isolators are taller.
  8. ratios...... http://www.datsuns.com/Tech/datsun_transmissions.htm looks like 3rd is a 1.00 ratio.
  9. time travel in only 3 more mph...... This should help if you can figure out the auto trans ratios...... http://www.geocities.com/z_design_studio/
  10. I rarely get anyone try and race me on the street. Its only happened 2 or 3 times and its usually some high school kid who thinks their VW is fast. I just ignore them and keep driving. Its surprising how many people guess that its got a V8 in it though, so maybe that scares most of them away. I usually just get the thumbs up or they ask me if its a porsche haha.
  11. I actually have a friend who does some side work out of his garage. I can see if he would want to take it on. He's does some damn good work. I've been planning on getting him to redo my front fenders as I had some rust come through where I welded up the fender/headlight bucket. He lives down by 380 and the tollway. Whats up with the nose frame of the car? rust? wreck damage? Btw nice meeting you the other day.
  12. I am using front isolators in the rear. They fit with no problem at all and gave me the stance that I wanted with Tokico springs. Unfortunately the front end sits slightly too high for my liking now. Heres a pic of how it sits now.
  13. Its just east of custer off of hedgecoxe on the north side. Carter Wrecker Salvage if I remember right That meet has moved to an abandoned dealership in mesquite/garland owned by Randall Reed. They had 500+ some odd cars out there last week. It just started back up on monday nights, its ran by ricekiller.com
  14. That's right... I had a brain fart or something. Absolutely agree.
  15. Its 3 Ka24 heads and he isn't producing them. Just a one off custom piece. I would be nervous using it with the compression of a diesel motor anyways. The LD28 came in the maximas in 81-83. There's a video of a white 240z with one in it floating around on youtube. The swap has been talked about on here before too. I don't know too much about the motors but I believe they have an iron head, different stroke, and smaller bore than your standard l28. I know you have to modify the oil pickup because the oil pan is a front sump.
  16. I'm in Plano just north of Dallas. sooo.... Howdy?
  17. Awesome. I've been thinking about doing something similar along the side of my airdam cause i don't have any side marker lights. They look great!
  18. If that's your car in your avatar I knew the previous owner. Small world... Travis actually got the crank pulley and fan in that car from me about a month ago. PM me if you want to meet up some time.... don't want to take this thread too off topic. I don't make it out to any meets very often other than the occasional sonic meet up and what not. The only pick and pull that I know of that would have a bunch of Z stuff is Jerry at All Z car specialist as was mentioned earlier in this thread. There are a a few others but most don't hold on to datsuns for too long before their crushed. Its hit or miss.
  19. http://fubared132.mybrute.com kind of boring but mildly amusing
  20. I really can't think of any Z or import shops on that side of town. If you can find a good short block to swap in, I have an engine hoist and stand you can borrow. Let me know if you need any help when it comes time for the sbc conversion too.
  21. I'm glad to hear this project hasn't been scraped. I was thinking about this thread the other day and happy to see someone brought it back to the top. Like everyone else, I want to get rid of my sunroof too.
  22. More little cosmetic things.... Painted steering wheel white. I actually was just priming it with kilz and I liked the way it matched up with the white shift knob. I may still paint it. Found a center cap that'll work for the wheels. They are actually stock center caps off of the Iron cross wheels. I had to sand down the outer edge slightly to fit it inside of the wheel center hole but it fits in snugly now. Unfortuantely I only had one lying around so now I am on the hunt for three more for the other wheels. I also covered the panel where the dome light goes with the same material i used for the headliner. The color is a light grey.... bad lighting. and here are some random pics I took of the car..........
  23. This front end reminded me of this custom one on a 510 wagon On another note I think this front end would actually look wicked on a 2+2.
  24. Painted the brake drums black. Trying to hide them a little bit until I put in some disk brakes. They just look out of place with the large wheels. I still need to get center caps for the wheels. New tires for the rear. 245/45/17 Sumitumo HTR Z III New tires in the front. 245/45/17 Kumho Ecsta ASX I covered the piece that the defrosters blow through with suede.I actually cut out the little dividers that used to make up the "grill" that the air came through. It was the only way to make the suede look right and stil have functionind defrosters. The pictures kind of suck; I'll have to get some better ones with it installed.
