1. Juan shipped one out to me today. Thanks. EDIT: I got the Armrest today(2/25/10) Looks great. I was pleasantly surprised the plastic clip to hold the little chrome cover was fully intact. Excellent condition, excellent packing. Thanks again Juan!
2. Blacked out cars can look damn good and that s30 looks great and well executed, but for every well done blacked out car there are at least a dozen poorly done ones. The only thing that bugs me on that particular car is the front end sits a little high compared to the rear. Maybe its the sr20 or just the placement of the flares.
3. actually this should do the trick... from our let see your v8 in your Z thread.... http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/73708-lets-see-your-v8-in-your-z/
4. would this work... the area is kind of obscured by the headers
5. I don't think i could stomach dying white seats in that good of condition but it looks like they came out great.
6. I keep finding new little things that are friggin awesome.... Edit... I just started using google chrome and thought something was a feature of the new layout when it was a Chrome feature. Still lots of new cool stuff!!! LOL
7. One thing I really like is the option to download a thread at the bottom left. Makes saving info really easy. I agree about the colors being a little bland and blending together but I'm sure if we give it a little time they will have it all sorted out in no time. Over all I really like the new layout.

Coilover parts

if you have a welder, you can modify the stock top mounts and save an extra $48. I just welded some 2.5" diameter exhaust pipe in the center of the stock upper metal mount to center the spring. Cheap and effective.
9. That car sits perfectly. I don't mean to copy your look but I'm seriously considering those wheels now. Are those the charcoal grey color?
10. I'm selling a bunch of random stuff in the classifieds. check it out here.... http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=159580 Small update: I painted the taillight bezels a Nissan color called smoke. Paint code is k11. It is on newer nissan models like the titan. Thinking about smoking out the taillights... not sure yet.
11. I think my opinion on this should be pretty obvious, without aero... lol
12. I'm not sure if it was in 77 or 78 that they made it so the fuel pump relay wouldn't kick the fuel pump on unless it sensed oil pressure as a safety feature. I know that was the case on the 78 because my relay was intermittent and I ended up putting a relay without it, in its place..... reminds me that I still need to redo some of that wiring. A search should be able to tell you what year specifically. edit: Actually.. if there are two yellow wires coming of the oil pressure sender then it should be the same as mine. I believe the earlier models only had one wire coming off of the sender going to the gauge. That engine bay is classy. Can't wait to see this car in paint.
13. I think he is actually looking for the r200 pinion flange, I could be wrong though.
14. I don't know what programs you open thefollowing files with specifically but this thread is in the downloads forum..... http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=108531
15. Its not too high. I actually have a stock manual leather shift boot around it. You can kind of get an idea of its height in this pic.
16. I used an aftermarket B&M shifter mounted to a piece of metal welded to the stock datsun rubber shift boot ring. My trans is a 700r4. Also, check out this photobucket album of another member's car for a more stock appearing look. http://s672.photobucket.com/albums/vv85/lazycat5/
17. Well, I got my coilovers installed. I sectioned my rear struts already and need to order the mr2 struts for the front so that I can do them as well. I realize now why shops like johnc at beta charge so much for this modification. Its a bitch. lol Its worth every bit of labor that he would charge. With that said, on with the pics. Here are at least a pair of the springs i got off ebay and two of the coilover sleeves and perches i received from A1. A front strut with perch removed and some some grinding done. I found this kind of interesting. There are two different type of top mounts for the springs. I used the one on the right because it had a flatter surface for my spring to seat on. I welded 2.5" exhaust piping into the center of it to hold the top of the new springs in place.( I'll take some pics of them when i tear the front back down for the mr2 struts. Here's what i had previously. Tokico 1" lowering springs Front strut mocked up. Not final ride height or anything. My stack of wheels/tires while I had the car up on stands. My new yokohama es100 tires on the top. They are 245/45/17 but are little wider than the other two brands of tires I previously had. And here are some shots of the car after the install. It's not too much lower.(about an 1") Low enough that I need to get my exahust redone and tuck it up a little bit higher. My driveway is sloped and I scrap at the lip of the garage threshold.
18. Call up some local machine shops. I had my stubs drilled for $100. When I initially explained what I wanted done, the guy was hesitant and quoted me $140. He actually said it was so simple he'd only charge me $100. lol Only took him a couple days to get to them and I didn't have to pay shipping for them. I think I left out the specific years for the Z31 hub in my write up on the different 5 lug swap options. obviously an important factor. I'll have to update that. and just as an additional reference here is the correct hub. It is pentagonal and not round. Hopefully this is will help someone else from purchasing the wrong hubs. The hub comes off of the 84, 85, 86,and maybe the 87 turbo cars. Whatever year they changed to five lug on all z31's(I believe in 87 or 88) I believe the non turbo hubs for those years(~87-89) are the same as the early turbo hubs(84,85,86). I'm not 100% certain though, so maybe a Z31 buff could chime in.
19. wait, so it was that difficult to get screwed on with the control arm and sway bar off of the car? I've never needed an extra hand to get the end links on, so that's why it seems weird to me. Maybe they changed their design since I bought my bushing kit.
20. It's easiest to use a jack to raise up and position the strut/control arm.
21. are you talking about this thread? http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=159154 That's for a ZX and with the jtr mounts. Your mounts put the distributor completely in front of the hood latch, so I don't see any issues. haha I wouldn't dream of anything that drastic. ALthough if it was before the 700 hours it would probably be therapeutic.lol I can't see anything in the pics that would interfere with closing the hood.
