Thanks Jeff! If i need something to look pretty, i'll borrow yours BTW you have a PM! I think it would be nice to have around just for whatever, plus since it has a gas hook up I think it would be good to practice w/. Shipping to me was 11.99 so the grand total shipped is 171.98, that's nuts. I'm just wondering how many they have at that price...

start w/ simple green, then go to a good leather cleaner / conditioner. The SG will cut any grease and dirt and will not harm the leather. The leather cleaners and conditioners keep it nice and soft for years to come

Well, if it's a WC-T5 from a 6cyl, wheelman is right, you don't want to use it. But you can get it and rebuild it. I had a 6cyl WC-T5 and bought a Ford Cobra "R" Gearset and a rebuild kit and put all new internals in it. Viola (sp?), you have a T5 trans rated at about 400 hp / 300 ft lbs (or so) on the cheap depending on how much you are paying for the trans. I spent about 600 upgrading mine, then still had to get a new flywheel, pressure plate, and hydrolics, but everything is very stout. Just some input.

Do you think you could put a better rheostat on this HF welder to get better control on the line speed? I'm really wanting it based on that price!!!

The Craziest Looking Thing I've Ever Built
BillZ260 replied to johnc's topic in Fabrication / Welding
Looking at the chasis, it needs to be portable, and can be pulled by hand into rough area based on the tires on that dolly. I am going to guess something agriculture or oil related. ( I cheated a little and read the picture name.....NO HELP ) So what is it? -
Nice You're car is going to be so clean, can't wait to see it all together. Plan on getting a call from me soon. I'm going to try to start my Z at some point next week. Would like someone there. I may need a shoulder to cry on...

Home made floor boards
BillZ260 replied to alexideways's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I basically did what the guy in the picture you posted did accept that I put my sub-frame connectors in first at floor level. I then had 2 pieces, or maybe 4 I don't remember, for each floor board. Basically I cut a piece and ran it from the trans tunnel to the subframe conn, then another from the innter door frame to the subfram conn. So you can see the top of the subframe connectors insite the car. I haven't driven it yet but it should be pretty stiff. Just another route, the others sound like they will work well too! -
ODD... You are Pope Stephen VII ... or possibly VI! Made Bishop of Agagni by Pope Formosus, you became Pope yourself in 896 by putting your immediate predecessor, Boniface VI, to death. Your reign lasted all of fourteen months. However, you firmly assured your place in history by putting the rotting corpse of the aforementioned Formosus on trial in the splendidly named Synod Horrenda. Naturally, Formosus was clad in full papal vestments. Having dug up the stinking remains once already, you proceeded to have them found guilty, reburied, re-exhumed, relieved of the three fingers of the right hand used in consecrations and finally thrown into the Tiber. All ordinations performed by the luckless Formosus were annulled. After this delightful display of gratitude, you were promptly strangled, paving the way for an increasingly short-lived series of successors and the reinstatement, dereinstatement and rereinstatement of Formosus' Papal deeds.

have all parts except bolts!
BillZ260 replied to 2500lb Tuxedo's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
What I ended up doing is rummaging through old bolt boxes for stuff, if i didn't have it I hit the NAPA industrial supply, they have a great selection of SAE and Metric high grade bolts. So far the only thing they didn't have was a Harmonic Ballancer bolt. -
just fyi if you need a set of KB hypers I have a set of 12cc dish, but they are std bore Make you a deal.

Thanks for the insight guys. On the rugs, how did you get them home? I know getting anything that fits in the luggage is easy, but I'm not sure what to expect export wise on larger items, such as rugs, car parts, or any other odd thing I might happen across, fall in love with and need to have at home?

Good to know about the cars (and gold), i may just hit some desert junk yards if they have them. I'll be taking lots of pics of the local $$$ cars and make sure to keep you guys up to date on anything cool i find. I think our apartments are somewhat close to the beach area's that those Islands are being constructed.

After the first of the year I am going to be working in Dubai 3 weeks a month for the next 6-8 months. I'll probably get to run over to Aberdeen a couple of times but definitely mostly will be in Dubai. I am just wondering if anyone here has spent any time there? I am excited about going and want some insight as to what to expect, good cheap eateries, cool things to see and do. So far it looks like I will be spending what litte free time I have doing laundry, and splitting time between here, http://www.skidxb.com/, and here http://www.dubaiautodrome.com/autodrome/default.htm. I'm hoping to set asside enough of my per diem to vist them fairly often. Ski/Snowboarding is about $20 US per hour or so, and I sent an email to the autodrome on activities/prices, didn't see too much on their site for those. I did see that they have a "Auto Test" that looks pretty popular. I hope they start another session up in Jan. Looks fun! Anyway, just lookign for your thoughs and opinions. Thanks!

Thought i'd give an update on what I've been up do for the past 5-6 months, progress of the car, and what's to come... I have been having a hard time keeping up w/ the pace of the site since the huge jump in activity the past 6 months or so!!! The project I have been working on at work has changed paces after the 4th of July (our cutover to the software we are instaling) and I started traveling to the Opperations Locations here in the US and Canada. Been doing that pretty much week to week here and there not been home too much to work on the house or the Z. I'm home now till the first of the year and I'm hoping to finish up some stuff on the house and Z. So I want to get as much done now, as I can, because after first of the year I will be in Dubai / Aberdeen for the next 6-8 months 3 weeks out of every month. Hopefully the week that I am home each month, i'll be able to focus on the car some Status on the Z hasn't changed too much other than tinkering here and there since I installed the motor and trans in late June... http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=112291 I did get the wiring cleand up and loomed, mostly. Alt mount finished up and installed, radiator, upper/lower hoses and a couple of other easy things. So now I have 98 percent of the parts to complete, just need to finish installing or hooking them up. Basically I have some loose wire ends, bolt up the exhaust, add the carb and tie in fuel plumbing, put together the throttle cable linkage, bleed brakes and master cyl, finish heater plumbing, and probably a couple other simple jobs. Then i'll be ready to fire the engine and see what's next So I think if I can get two solid FULL days i can get this thing ready to fire, maybe... wish me luck!

So how often can you find a trailer taht a car would fit under???? I think it's probably a low %, and the stuff on tv/movies is all hollywood bs. Not to spoil the fun but many a time I drive next to a rig, i try to imagine what vehicle WOULD fit under that trailer, most either have too much bracing, or utility racks, or a spare tire or two under there that's just in the way...

Someone Hug Me..I'm Gonna Cry! Dropped a Dowel into Engine!
BillZ260 replied to slownrusty's topic in Nissan L6 Forum
Yasin, if you havn't pulled the pan yet, you might try doing what 5106 noted, drain the oil and use a speaker or a rare earth magnet to "WALK" the metal pc to the drain hole and w/ any luck you can get it out.... Good luck -
Anything more???? In LA this week, be home this weekend, holla.

There are a couple of guys that have done "standard" SBC's into a 300's but not too many. I'd go for an RB if it'd fit, or maybe a 4.3L? Dunno, whatever floats their boat i guess. There won't be any kits for what-ever you do, so let the customer have what they want.

Cool, Gimme a holler and we'll work something out.

Craftsman also has a great set of easy outs for rounded bolts. Will actually work on anything they can get ahold of, so depending on the bolt dia. if they can get ahold on it, it will come out. Bout 60 bucks, used them many a time. Just stick them on a ratchet and go!
