  1. Not anymore Thanks for the insight guys, I'll keep looking when I get time. Pics will help
  2. I was looking at the Chevy site last night for this very reason. The avalanche has this option and the demo video showed the 2,3,5 & 8 cyl's firing for ballance. I assumed it would alternate from the previous to 1,4,6 & 7 but the demo didn't show that. I also noticed that in the standard package of the vehicle you get a flexxible coupling from the engine to the exhaust for quieter opperation... Makes me wonder about how 'seamless' the 4 to 8 change is. I also didn't see much on actuall fuel savings. I'm interested in this, could be an option for a good size truck that gets decent milage but I want to find out a lot more so that in 2-3 years I'll know if I want one. (or whenever the price get's closer to 20k w/ a few miles on them)
  3. Wow, the one morning I don't listen to NPR on the way in from work!
  4. Sumo's right, you need the JTR Kit Link to the auction? COOL!
  5. COOL! I was thinking a SR20 for the sport wagon theme, or a GN 6 for the monster wagon theme..
  6. clean car, what'd those seats come out of? What'd they set you back?
  7. On the drive home I thought about it and could see what it looks like in my head. Is that engine overhead cam? Does it have the same cam / crank ratio as others? If the crank is flat how do the power combustions overlap? If there are descriptive articles or websites pleas point me there, i've looked and don't see anything obvious. Thanks
  8. So the fire timing is pulsed instead of staggard? I guess i'll have to look at some pics to see what you mean. It definitly sounded different.. Didn't see any ferrari crank pics in a quick google... So single plane crank means 180 Deg between throws. Does that mean each piston is sitting on it's own journal, instead of like most others where you have apposing cyl's sitting on the same journal? Are any other V engines designed this way? What's the advantage? Less harmonics? Surely not just cooler exhaust notes maybe? ha ha. Thanks for the input guys! This is interesting.
  9. 666 moments waisted reading the beasts post?
  10. This reminds me of middle school....uhhhhh, heh.. heh.....
  11. Do the Datsun automatics have a flywheel you can use with a clutch?
  12. I've been working on a gloabal software implenemtation and, for the last 6 months it's been ~60 hrs/week. We "go live" in about 3 weeks, after that I'll be traveling to about 30 differnt global locations over the next 2.5 years or so. Working about 3 weeks at a time and home for 1. Don't really care to figure out those hours But I'm learning a ton
  13. On the way to a buddies house yesterday eve and a guy wailed by me in this... http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.alohatoystore.com/images/Maserati-Spyder-GT-300x225.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.alohatoystore.com/car-010.htm&h=225&w=300&sz=10&tbnid=d4YZFchxB8KiIM:&tbnh=83&tbnw=111&hl=en&ei=y6mFRIbnOoHUaYWKldYN&sig2=Zxedn2agF0xotaa_xNLGmA&start=1&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dmaserati%2Bconvertible%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26safe%3Doff (CLICK ON THE MASERATI on the left) It was brand new w/ no tags. The guy had the hazards on and was driving it like he stole it! Anyway I really liked the exhaust note and was wondering if anyone knows anything about them. It was a definite V8 sound but, it sounded like two cyl's per bank were firing instead of alternating banks. I was wondering if it had a x-over exhaust or something else that would have added to this effect? It sounded awesome!
  14. Damn Pete! Take it easy man. My thoughts are with you. Take care...
  15. I think the black at the end represents, the end...
  16. It's difficult to say since I've never been and it sertainly isn't my HOME, but I can't imagine moving back after that. I don't get it but more power to them if it's what they need. I think they are setting them selves up again. Sad stuff....
  17. I suppose the law of adverages has to catch up w/ the do it yourselfers right? I've been lucky so far, heal up quickly!
  18. Very cool! Great find....what's manga?
  19. I'd say w/ out a working model to demonstrate any of these claims, its just a bunch of talk. Interesting, but just talk. Looking at that model they have it's going to require some fairly expensive production process to achieve that internal doughnut those pistons ride in...
  20. I hadn't seen it, must have missed it earlier. Is it still all theory or does the thing run?
  21. and the guy that chopped the freaks arm off in the last episode of JAIL BREAK... Hey, they were in a hurry....
  22. I've read where other guys w/ pretty much purpose build drag cars end up getting wrinkles in the rear quarter behind the rear windows. If your are digging in to your car much at all, it's not that difficult to add the subframe connectors. If your worried about it and have a welder, get to it
  23. That is my absolute favorite car ever, got the z because it's as close as you get for 10 grand ha! Are there NO kits, ever? GOD, i love that car, thanks for sharing!!!
