  1. check out zdriver, theres a 280 with vg30dett, i wanna see some pumped up vg40 and vg45 installs with a five speed behind it with a r230 yazzi rear end, thats some nissan im not mad at . if i had rb26 hookups i would go that route in an instant, bone stock getting me some turbo rubber.
  2. hey i went to a wheel shop that sells used rims, either from body shops or old cars whatever, they had these eagle alloys, they look to be 15x10 and i looked harder, adn they have a multi four lug pattern on them, i went and crossreferenced them to eagles website, and they said that they have a http://www.americaneaglewheel.com/wheels_detail.asp?id=19&cat=Series+028 negative 45mm offset, im pretty dumb when it comes to these things, will these fit a z with mild flares??? i know they would fit with the flares, im more worried about rubbing out on the suspension more than anything.
  3. my dad positively hates the z, hes a straight six type of guy, but he does like that i work hard on it and take pride in keeping it running well, and that i dont ask him for money to pay for mechanics anymore (i think thats what he really likes)
  4. ok i suck, i found, for reference i think it was 85-86 bolt up, 87-up you have to drill four middle holes.

  6. hey i searched around and could not find a concise answer, heres my issue. i have a 87 tp firebird that i drive around for now, im selling the chassis with motor and trans for cheap to help my buddy do a v8z, but for simplicities sake were gonna go carbed with it, and out of the deal i get a couple bucks, and the tpi setup complete will this manifold work with older generation small blocks, ive heard that i would have to swap heads, that it will bolt right up, but i cant find anything concrete on this. during the summer im gonna enroll in a summer class for paint/body, and a class for GM efi, guess what my homework gets to be??? but i want to know if it will bolt up or not, or else i may have to look around for a different manifold, also, does anyone know if the lower plenums from the tpi setup that will work with an older chevy bolts to the uppers from an 87-up, sorry so long post, but man dan judays tpi and the thoughts of a powdercoated red tpi manifold are getting so tempty!
  7. hey just put my rear suspension back into car, i reversed the mustache bar into r200 position, and now the driveshaft is too short, jtr says its about 1 3/8s further now, has anyone had to lengthen their driveshaft because of this, and how much??
  8. hey what did you have to do to get the diff in singlehandedly. i had to use two jacks, then jack them both at the same until i could get the mustache bar bolts in, no fun i tell ya, i tried like seven different approaches, and i dont recommend trying to bench press it up either if youre going solo, straight pain.
  9. my buddy has a new porsche carrera, hes paying like 1500 a month for it and has two car projects that are on super hold because of it, and he drives this thing 50 miles a month because he cant afford the upkeep, im sad, he has two 70 240z's that need love badly.

  13. i not only consider my z a rice rocket, i know its a rice rocket, my twin slant bomb mufflers, blue headlights, soon to be flush bodied car with monster tires is the king of import racing. with a four speed makin them folks say and the yuppies say and the ladies go and my homies say

  15. looks good. im gonna flush everythng i can, sidemarkers, bpillars, and run sidemarkers in the headlights, man they give the quarters that camaro hotrod look, i like it.
  16. the mustache bar, or the longditudal leaf spring torsion bar behind the diff, that held up fine, but check the two holes, if there are ovalish, thats indicates its wearing, i cracked mine at this point once, also polyurethane bushing at the mounting point ends are a good thing. with good bushings and a secure front mount you should be good to go player.
  17. same deal here, i went in to fix my diff xmember, so i end up doing almost every bushing, new ujoints, reinforcing the x member fuel lines, ebake adjustment, blah blah blah, it took me two weeks when the inital work would have took me about a day or so, hey thats how it is, and the extra effort means less effort later, and thats when you can spend more time driving then wrenching.
  18. ive seen that car for sale for hecka long, it just wont pass smog in my part of the woods or i would be down, plus its too dang crazy lookin, and i like crazy stuff too, but i bet its got awesome potential and the owner has a lot of money in it, i got money on it that you can get get a great deal for that car, he reposts that thing every other day.
  19. the r200 should be fine, i would get a new diff mount and find some way to keep it from nosing up from acceleration, thats what tears up the mount the most, i wraped a 3/16 plastic coated cable four times around mount and xmember, and then four times around the top of the diff to the xmember, replacd the arrestor strap with a nylon strap, and installed a bumpstop from energy suspension in it, i just did this last week, havent driven the car hard, but it works good, and for the two years previous to that the stock setup held up fine.

  21. sounds like the 200sx dogleg trans, also called the european trans. has reverse like a muncie right? is first gear like shifting into second? this trans will bolt right up to l6 and should hold up. but i could be wrong, im not up on my datsun trucks.

  23. my buddy is buying my firebird for a v8conversion, but he is going carbed, will have it pretty soon. upper and lower manifold,injectors, rail, harness, elec. adv. distributer, cap, rotor, wires, tb, you name it its coming off in hopefully one piece out of a good running car, make me an offer, and as usual, its cheaper if you can come get it.
