i used to have a lot of fun in my little b16a civic, a ton of fun. but these cars were never built with performance in mind other than getting you from point A to point B comfortable and smooth like. for a commuter they are it. nice and smooth, soft driving. very reliable cars, if i had money like that i would be driving one everyday, automatic.

just like it says, how many of you guys are in school right now like, having the time of your life and building that super viscious zcar, staying up all night studying, then wake up at 6am cause you cant sleep because the day before you got that big old box of parts to start stuffing into your zcar or project car whatever it is? i be that. how many of you drool at the site of the newest modification but can only do just that because you can only work like ten hours a week? im going for my masters here at SFSU(forced into it because i could not find a good job to save my life after i recieved my bachelors last summer) now im once again a full time student, a part time mechanic, and help do bodywork in order to one day jump to the body side of the sword in order to make some more bucks during my second college career here. ah, three am typing a twelve page paper thats due in five hours, what a feeling.

with a mustang 5.0 in a 1999 prelude sh with 28k that we installed a bolt on turbo and lowered, went for a test run, 4000.00 worth of parts on a 2.2DOHC with vtec and 5lbs on a car that costs 30k with financing is good for about a car and a half on a 5.0 with 170k, and every bolt on known to man except a true power adder or internal motor work(maybe 225 at wheels and 300 lbs). he was bangin 6k, i was banging launching and powershifting my ass off at 8500 just to get that one and a half car lead, which i had to fight out of the gate to get with a 5500 launch (so i could stay in vtec with the stock clutch). we went six lights in a row on the great highway like this and the results were very consistant. the best part is that we both had humongous stereo systems in the cars, pumped up so loud we couldnt hear either one of our exhausts or launch revs, or the race for that matter, we were full on having a sound and race contest, very very fun and yes i know, very riske. the first two lights i could not get that thing out of the gate without tons of wheelspin(posi fwd!) and bangin the limiter because the music was so dang loud.theres something so fundemantelly wrong with seeing the smoke shoot out of your front wheels. we must have raced for almost three miles cut into 1/2 mile stops. when i finally got it down i pulled really well, my boy in the mustang hit 15.0 at sears, so this prelude is a 14.6 or so, maybe a little better, not a slow car, but for 34k i better get more than a car and a half on a car thats almost 15years old!!!!!! one thing about the prelude though, man that thing drives so dang smooth and comfy, once i got back in my little corolla i felt like i was driving a wooden wagon!

you dont have to go five lug at all to run tires like that, it does make it a lot easier though, you might just have to get longer wheel studs and use spacers to get 10 or twelve inch wide wheels. flares definitely. i just wont go five lug cause i aint trying to pull no stub axle until i shear it off, thats real talk, it likes where its at too much for me to disagree.

hey randy, if or when you decide you want to sell it let me know, ill pick it up almost for certain for a reasonable price of course.

hey went for a ride in my buddies car with the exhause that comes out on the rear driver side of his car, below the side marker below the bumper he runs a rectangle pipe and two glasspackes to quiet it on a l6, he has no fumes while driving, but some while sitting still because the exhaust gets the chance to slowly get in thru the window, but it is non existant while driving, im gonna go to a similar route and run dual mufflers diagonally left one out of the stock spot, die grind it a little bigger so i can get more angle on it, and another below it angled same way a little bit right, hope it works, if it does imma do the running man dance.

THEKING 327WAYS ZUPRISE

yes, that will be your friend. too much is better than too little here, you dont want to fab up the mount and do everything, then find out you cant fit it, it will piss you off something crazy. i use a four speed and out of the blue in my driveway it stuck in third, jack up the car to see linkage binding in the tunnel, and ive been driving it like that for almost three years now had to drop it and use my friend, twenty five or so love shots and we cool. the last five were just a reminder to not mess with my emotions.

ill bring it, and my mustache bar thats fragged out as well and its six pieces, not four

thats funny. i used to have a b16a swapped civic, and used to think it was the fastest thing on earth, until i discovered torque. right now im working on this guys 2000 prelude sh with the "big block" 2.2 vtec, its slow as heck, weighs almost as much as a new camaro with half the torque, but winding out 8k and hearing the vtec crossover is pretty cool, but i really enjoy driving the speed limit and dumping out his two 15" woofers, as a driver those hondas are frekin fantastic, very calm and very smooth, but im trying to come with the rwd, and my four speed

man that looks tough, bet that thing buzzes really really nice, like the setup a lot, clean ride and a really nice suspension. can we get a sound byte please? wow, i only wish that we had more access to the rb motors out here, if we had access like you guys i think a good portion of this site would be devoted to doing that swap. lookin good.

I hope things go well for both of you guys. Im sorry to hear about what you guys are going through it has to be tough. I know you guys will get through, we're survivors here. -
in so. cal i heard there are a lot of really fast civics out there, my buddy from san gabriel has a b16a crx that runs 15s and says he gets blown out of the water two out of three races by other civics on a weekly basis, it is possible, but overall around my part of the woods very very rare.

if you have nice paint dont do this the baseball bat rolling trick works really well on a z, that thin sheetmetal rolls up real nice. im only running 225/60/15 on a 7"rim, and i could maybe stick a lower profile 245 in there, maybe like a 50series tire. the fronts i cant get more than a 215/60/15, but i think i need some more adjustment up there though.

hey i picked up two x members, r180 and r200 the r200 is fairly stronger and heavier. man you should see whats left of my r180 x member, theres no piece bigger than six inches!!! i destroyed that thing and i saw one thing that sticks in my mind more than anything else, the way that the xmember is made of two thin pieces of steel sandwich welded together strikes me as being kinda faulty looking, has anyone reinforced this weld, i am going to, and should have photos soon. i also want to add some steel plate to the xmember to tough it up even more, but thats what i saw that broke the most on my cross member, that sandwich weld came apart from each other, and cracked in four places, oh its a mess. i would have been done putting the diff back in, but i want to tough it and make it last, so i can yet again drive my mean car, tired of driving the happy car.

straight six cars cost more. only reason not to buy a v8z car for that price is that it was rear ended something stupid, everything else is easily fixed. think of how much of your life you save at that price. think how much faster you can get that car to run really hard for less than a straight six car. its a no brainer show him 1500 in a paper bag and leave him in a cloud a smoke.
-
hey youngster, thats OUR boss! naw its all good playbeez, holla.
-
no street driven civic will hang with a v8z, even one with a really small v8, like a tired 265 even. last time i raced a civic (before the xmember broke) i tromped him so bad all i heard in the background was vtec, turbo, and three chirps, if that runs a 12, im the top fuel dragster.

supras tts can be really fast, but they usually arent. they are among my favorite prey, along with nsxs, 300zxtts, rx7tts, mustang 5.ho's, ive had great fun with them all, because they make my ego happy.

my buddy runs a pipe out the side of the rear lower valance, and he says it stopped the stank really well, except when hes at a light or stopped. running a really long exhaust works somewhat. ive also seen people run turndowns, but i honestly think it looks really retarded to have a turn down tip coming out the back of the car. im going to run two mufflers diagonally towards the left stacked under where it does stock, but style is my main goal, and yes, with both windows down it helps.

hey guyz, just getting some stuff together so i can get my car back on the road, AND STAY ON THE ROAD ive learned some strange things about my car working on it as i have been kinda feverishly the past week or so. 1. my mustache bar is the r200,m but its mounted in front of the rear lower crossmember like r180 2. all the rear bolts except the control arms break loose without power tools 3. arrestor strap, whats that? 4. the r200 can endure pure HELL and not look bad at all, i popped the rear cover off, gears look like day one and the oil smells bad, but was not black and had not one piece of metal in it!!! 5. now that ive dropped an r200 and pulled half shafts, i dont think ill ever be scared to rip em apart ever ever again... two more days, back on the road again!!!

no matter what the guy really runs, its a really fun looking car that probably has a whole lot of power and the potential for some crazy numbers once its done, i think id rather have superdans more though, he gots the injected six speed gnose but im not mad at a blower, never been -
great, one guy posts his three second rear disc swap, now this guy has to floss his R's on me? great jobs both of you guyz, man oh man, im gonna do one or both swaps once i get the car running right (disc and five lug) must do it....
