  1. no ebrake, broke that thing a long time ago
  2. i think the kit looks good, but its not my type of hype as well, but then again, im the guy that swapped out a urethane spoiler for the stock front valance, gotta have my chrome too...
  3. gotta watch out with those super dropped cars, i went back to stock lower valance because everytime i hit a bump hard the spoiler would hit, and overtime it starts warping fender alignment.
  4. hey i did the drums on my car, had to beat the crap out of them to get them off, and got to them, rebuilt them cleaned them and replaced the shoes and drum, and im wondering how, what does that little hole in the drum do??? is it supposed to vent or maybe give you acces to the adjuster blade by the wheel cylinder, i dont know i dont know, last night was my first drum job and it took me six hours, with the pain i went through last night and the learning i did on the system, i think it will take me about thirty minutes for the whole job ONCE I GET THE SUCKER OFF!
  5. the rb is a very nice swap into a z, straight six twin turbo that can be very potent. but its not from a car that you see everyday, or ever. i have only seen two skylines at the street races at montague expressway(cough) loser (cough) and thats it. i like swaps like the 2jz and the 7m-gte(my buddy is doing a head gasket on one of those and that motor looks tough) and those cars are things you see on the street at any given moment. the older 7mgte can be found at the junkyard very frequently, its a motor not a lot of people jump on, which makes it affordable and easy to replace if something should happen, and its a dang good motor capable of great hp and torque for a relatively low sum, and you can buy your parts from kragen without finding a car that has equivalent parts that MAY work. and whats the first thing you do in a car of this sort? me, im going WOT like WHAT!!!!! what happens when you do that, you start to breakin stuff whacha gonna do when something internal goes in an rb or a 2jz? its gonna hurt. and yeah these motors can take a whole lot, yeah this motors are bulletproof, well its a machine and machines can do some funny things to you sometimes. either way its up to the preference and financial status of the potential swapper to choose which drivetrain better suits his or her needs. i would love to swap in that 7m-gte motor, it looks nice and its not a hot motor, kinda cheap, cheaper than the b16a which goes for 2500 or more, thats about how much a 7mgte costs with the trans from a import motor shop. the power potential is just sick out of that motor. me imma stick with the v8 cause im still learning about putting a powerful car together and keeping it together, once i get confident enough, we goin TURBO...
  6. thanx guys, are you guys sure that the non turbos have those gears 82-83, or if 79-83 non turbos all have them, i need one soon, and do they use old style half shafts? gotta make that bay area meet fellas!
  7. some of the fords have a mechanical side oiler that runs off of a belt, the old school blocks i mean, maybe with some fab could use one of those. i think it would overcomplicate a lot of things if you went with one, but it is cool, there is no delay when setup right, you actually get more oil flow that continues to way up high in the rpms. another advantage is that you could drop the motor down another inch or even two inches and retain the same ground clearance, also good for clearance for those doing belly pans. maybe even for running turbos where both manifolds have to join under the oil pan? anyways, its not a neccesaray thing unless youre truly going all out, then its still optional. theres other ways that are cheaper than going dry sump, maybe not as cool though.
  8. its a good motor, and easy to swap, it uses the same motor mounts as an sbc, if its a 4.3. jtr that and you will have a great handling car.
  9. hey i forget which car had the 3.90 r200, is it a 79 280z 2+2, looking for one. also, does the 4.11 from a 200sx use old style halfshafts???? thanks in advance, need more gear to make new combo work

    t-56 adapter?

bop lakewood scattershield with that tremec t56 retro, should work, those bellhousings are made extra big so they will work with big or small block with a million bolt holes.
  11. you can use any electric fan. the taurus is a good fan because its used in oem apps, usually meaning they were built for daily driving and negative maintenance, these units and units like such last a very long time and can be very reliable. you could always buy one from summit or jegs and get their therm controls or run it off a switch.
  12. even easier, go to a jy and grab a plastic one out of a 280. cheap. no fab except maybe some drilling. mine disintegrated and i havent replaced it yet.
  13. i think lakewood makes a scattershield for using a muncie behind buick or pontiac, BOP. you could use that and the t56 retro since they make so it will work with a muncie type bellhousing?
  14. the bolt pattern may just not fit, with the 4x4.25 lug spacing.
  15. the guy i know is dan pena, he took me for a ride in a roadster that made me scared of a 100rwhp, he was taking some downhill sweeper and drifted around a miata! it was bad, makes me want to do either a roadster or 510, probs roadster, unibody solid axle and drop top, thinks i like. maybe one of these days ill do that one, ill look around, hey what about r200 into one of those, or maybe datsun pickup truck rear axle swap???
  16. hey punk ass. Its Leonard, whats going on buddy, hows that "other" car doing? good i hope. whats going on with you these days man? me, still working on my "JDM" z conversion hehhahahahahh, with small block and foe speed. when you be in city next, i wanna see your rice rocket, do lunch. and GONG HAY FAT CHOY HONG BAO LOI !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Leonard heres my new number (im having fights with old company)r, maybe you have a mandarin friend decipher for you (si yi wu) liu ling yi - er yi liu si holler at me.
  17. hey has anyone done an l28et into a roadster, my buddy autox's roadsters and always knows where there is one to be had for good price, being badroc and all of that, is there any literature on that? my good friend is doing a 510 with l28 five speed, i think the roadster would be some serious fun with the torquey straight six boostingl, or is it too long to dump in the little guy????
  18. hey youve got the n600? that is positively my favorite honda of all time, hey you could probably bolt up a dual webber b18b in that car with a little mods, (vtec motor requiring efi) you could have that thing screaming 8k with 140hp, that would be fun. i was thinking roadster one of these days too, but man parts are really getting scarce for those cars.
  19. hey im very sorry about that, youngz just showed me your post, were in the shop goofing around righ tnow.
  20. hey my buddies and me thought about that a long time ago, we were talking about water injection, using windshield wiper fluid with the water because it has alcohol in it and gives you some extra punch, when we thought of running the hose to the rear tires. but we werent thinking about traction, we wanted to fill up the bottle with bleach and let it loose on black top somewhere for a video.
  21. if you like it, go for it. another source for cheap flares is the 84-89 supras, they have flares held on with three screws and glassing, can be had at the junkyard for pennies. other factory imports have flares factory and should be able to be just as easily removed, figure thirty bucks tops.
  22. whats up with performance plus?? when i had hard 14s on my z i could light em up something fierce two legger on call, i can get it sometimes now with the 15s, but not as reliably, i have to position myself to hook it up right. i love powersliding, maybe too much! you would have to drop by the shop in the day, we are not doing too much night work anymore, im sad, we are probably gonna change locations soon, maybe even start up our own shop, lord knows we have no shortage of cars or business. hey i pulled that spoiler off, ill have to drop it off to you one of these days, i painted it black for you, krylon style. when are you up for dropping CHEVY power in your ride, once you get the bay set up, we'll drop that sucker in for sure, itll take us three hours to drop it in, and probably ten years to get it running right!
  23. for some reason, everything but the diff breaks the way we drive these things playboy. i have welded, strengthened and replaced a lot of things, ill tell you this before you even put the motor in, do some subframe connectors, im almost done with mine, ill be by your shop soon, we can go play
  24. you might have to sawzall the quarter off, leaving an inch or so of "meat" draping off the quarter windows/antenna area, then you have to plop your new panel over it, trimming it so that it lines up right(takes a while), the meat left from orig quarter you pin up to quarter, this gets tack welded into place when alighnment is correct, then bondo and sand, bondo and sand, this is the quick explanation. my boss at the shop makes this look like an oil change, but i know its more involved than this.
