  1. thats crazy good, 12.6 with a lowered redline? i hope you werent in limp home mode, that would kill me if you got that running crappy, man isnt drivng these cars grand?
  2. hey what does "vipper" blue look like. just kidding, i know what it looks like its really nice. yeah i dont think 1200-1500 hp is very streetable, think of how hard a clutch has to be take that, or the high stall if its an auto, pain in the ass. you have 900hp? is that on juice or off juice, either way youre a nut. im happy as a clam with around 300hp(probably less) and around 400 for short periods of time at the touch of a button.
  3. semi metallics are good for the street i think, no pumping to stop here unless i lock em up, i dont knwo im just a weirdo, i think my car stops really good with my ghetto 4x4/metalmaster, and stock(but new) alum drums with new stock shoes and that zx mc, its a street car, so i dont have to repeatedly stomp em out all the time either though. i do have some ss lines i havent put on the car yet because it was such as pain in the ass to get the mc in, but im keeping them around for a future install.
  4. stock zxt compression is 7.3-1 or something like that, 9.-1 will work, thats what that hoover turbo car is running, but hes got billet bottom end stuff and custom everyting, i think on 91 hes pushing close to 500 with "only" 15lbs on a t4

    man i can just bearly tell and r200 from r180, but i think 3.90s would be good gears for your car, you do have an overdrive trans. i didnt think after 83 r200s used halfshafts anymore, could be wrong, i was already wrong once, but i thought the whole of diffs went cv when the 300zxs came out?

  7. check out ratsun.com, mr. barkley has some screaming ass big block zx and z cars that ravage the street somewhere, i would like t do one, but right now its beyond what i can do without paying someone for some part of the fabup. bad ass when you open the hood and youre greeted with hemi heads and dual quads i think.   8. oh so it bolts up to tpi wiring and works better with MAF sensors and uses all tpi hardware???? , im having evil thoughts here, once i take this firebird apart, ebay here we come....

    hey jon are you doing a cv conversion to your lil monster there? i always thought non-turbos zx's had 3.90s and the turbos had 3.54-3.70's?

  13. jtr also lists a breakdown for the weight differences in the back of the book. i think when you put a v8 in a 280z or 280zx, the extra weight doesnt factor in much except you dont need to do much to brace the frame for your average 300hp v8, and even less if it is a 2+2, i think less than a foot of square tube steel and you will have converted one of those into a full frame car.

  16. if smog wasnt the issue that it is in cali, i would go 280z in a heartbeat, because the metal everywhere is stronger, diff is bigger, and they are just plain comfy, ace the front bumper and im all in.

  20. LT4 is vette version of LT1, bigger cam, more flow, mo power. LT5 is the all alluminum quad cam with the variable venturi intake thats more LOTUS than chevy.

    my buddy used to have a e303 cammed car, revs up fast, good for doughnuts and drifts and stuff, but he wasnt geared for it and he lost a lot of low end. fun car, drop top, cobra rims, stereo system from hell, swinging doughnuts with the music on full blast is a blast. 2900 is ok price,those motors are cool
  23. dan, youre one of the reasons im gonna go ahead and dump the tpi on my homie 327, that install looks freakin nice. im gonna try and run it with as many components as i can salvage for now, once we rip the motor and trans out of this firebird, if we rip the motor and trans out the bird that is. what year is your motor anyway, i see youre running a speed density system there? this talk really is making me want to do the swap even more!!!
